      @@SIDEWAYZNZ Yeah definitely bro! Chuck out a line and see what you get. I don't think I've had a day down there without at least catching a few small kahawai.

    Great vid! New Sub. Where abouts did you get that bucket? Great bit of kit.

      @@paulglucina1184 welcome to the fam mate! Much appreciated. The bucket I got through mighty ape here in NZ: tinyurl.com/bdeb4etp and the bubbler I use with it these days is one from Rapala, got that through Burnsco Marine: tinyurl.com/5n7z5s25 . Makes a pretty good combo for keeping live bait alive or if you're taking kids fishing and don't really want to keep the fish

    Mullet, and fresh kahawai, excellent bait..

      @Ride_Reel  Месяц назад

      Oh absolutely! Don't taste too bad to humans either if treated right, but small kahawai like that definitely make amazing kingfish bait if they're lurking around. Still trying to catch one of those beasts, somehow they've eluded me so far. Thanks for watching mate, and look forward to more content.

    I like to cast jigs from that very spot. Good pipi’s on that sand bar to your right on the shallow sand there too.

    • @Ride_Reel
      @Ride_Reel  Месяц назад

      Yeah I've gone digging for pipi on slow fishing days, sometimes there's heaps but sometimes it's a bit hard to find decent ones. What kind of jigs do you throw out there?

      @otklfnz Месяц назад +1

      @@otklfnz yeah Bubba's is my go to when I'm down that way, legends there for fishing supplies and local knowledge. Will have to give that a go, haven't done much jigging for a long while.

      @@loonatick0072 yeah mate I find morning/evening there is good - think there's a bunch of rocks along the channel boats use to get into the marina and the snapper hang close by because of the shellfish beds.
