I have this monitor. it's absolutely awesome. Incredible color accuracy. Super bright. Blacks are the best I have ever seen on an IPS panel. Mine has 0 light bleed. Best monitor I have ever owned. Buying a 2nd one soon.
The contrast is equal to 1050:1 (tested by the korean reviewer), so the blacks can't be good (in the bright scenes). In dark scenes, of course, the blacks are relatively black because of the dynamic contrast.
@@csguak on newer triple A titles I’m sure but I love playing older games in my library. Currently playing doom 2016 and getting on average 180 fps at 4K max settings.
I have the LG 27GP950. It’s great but I’m ready to move on to OLED. The HDR is good but the local dimming is weak. And kills the quality a bit. I also returned the LG C2 42”. It’s too big for the desk setup I’m looking for.
@@rodolfotsang4327 it’s advertised has 1ms like every other monitor these days. It’s more like 2ms. Which’s is still amazing. OLED screens are the only true 1ms responsive time monitor. You should watch “Hardware Unboxed” they do some fantastic very detailed monitor reviews. They reviewed both the LG 27GP950 and LG C2 42”.
If they had USB C, I could actually overlook the lack of good local dimming to take advantage of the HDR. For that price though, that’s two large cons too many for me.
why is usb-c that important though? Is it needed even if I have a thunderbolt 4 dock? Just wondering what the big benefit is because I've been hearing this a lot 🤔

Love your review but I did have a question. You mentioned there was no USB-C port. Wouldn’t that be solved by just using a USB Type-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (Apple Brand). I get it extra money you don’t want to spend but it’s not the end of the world if you NEED your Mac on this setup. It’s still possible.
i have the LG 27GP850-B 27 inch already and instead of a 4k monitor i went and bought myself the LG C1 oled tv. if your going to spend over 1000$. you might as well get soimething that will be more than gaming alone, im so glad i chose this TV over the 4k monitor.

@@williamsung806 yeah no worries :). i have the same screen + MacBook Pro M1, works perfectly for me. You just need to buy a good quality cable who can do high frequency rate in high resolution. Amazon as a lot of them
@@williamsung806 yes! definitely. Cause of course Oled has better colors but, it’s really risqued to burn the screen so yes. With this Nano screen you won’t get any burn.
Just ordered the LG 32GQ950 but I'm still on the fence with the Samsung G8.. What do you think between them? I kinda worry about the G8 crushing the blacks and over contrasting certain areas too much. Also, ppl mentioned G8 has issue with accurate colors pre-calibration. 240Hz less concern to me since I don't game high refresh games and anyway have only a 2070 graphics board. On the other hand, I saw great reviews of the LG and ppl say even tho it has only 32 dimming areas, it's quite good for HDR contents and colors are accurate from factory.. So what do you think?
Its been a while since you commented but I've had the neo g7 for a while now and there is a few problems, grey uniformity sucks on my panel, there is a great amount of dirty screen effect which is noticeable in games with bright backgrounds, the blacks do get crushed unless you mess around with a few settings, there can be a noticeable amount of overshoot on consoles when using VRR and above 60fps and the stand is very wobbly. If you still have thr 32gq950 let me know how it is as I am considering swapping out for it, thanks in advance.
@@bingbong6411 does your neo G7 have the scanlines (pixel inversion artifacts) issue people keep mentioning for the G8/9 ? I am considering the G7 but the scanlines issue worries me. There are no LG 32GQ950s sold in my region so my second option is the Gigabyte M32U which isn't true HDR but it is much cheaper and no deal-breaking issues afaik.

How does this vs ultrawides work for listening position with near field monitors for ideal listening position and speaker placement around the screen, considering you need the screen to not block your sound and be close enough to see ?
@@alirava9865 I think the 42" would be amazing, try to hide the windows bar, desktop icon and change the wallpaper, that should be fine i think. Lol, I literally just returned my LG C2 and bought this and I couldn't be happier....It's not a monitor, it's a TV. Using it as monitor was the most frustrating thing on earth. It's not a massive downgrade at all, you have no idea what you're talking about

For 27 inches, there are a lot of good options, as long as you don’t want HDR. HDR is where a lot of these monitors fall flat.
