I love this synth already. Dev seems on the ball and is already adding things suggested (I wanted to see Ms time in delay and he has already added it ready for next update). I am currently using this to create a track from one kick sample🤣
Was looking at the granular effects on Phaseplant but the GUI doesn't work for me. This looks like its a few steps above that sound engine .... what are your must have granular plugins? I'm guessing this would be on that list
Novum is great! and with a very responsive developer, very! things will be added, workflow improvements.. but for the record; Tracktion isn't the brand of Novum, like Abyss, or Spacecraft, or Waverazor, they give independent developers a platform for distribution. it is Dawesome; the developer; Peter Vor.. so Dawesome Novum... it is spectral-granular, by the way. the spectral possibilities are already great, you play it granular, but you can change the timbre, with the flower, you can apply another amplitude shape from another sample, or change the amplitude yourself; that is spectral for you and us... also phase is possible, but only on/off, function, that will be extended. and it has syntify, the comb filter is on, by the way, that is why it sounds so, how did you called in the vid... so it is spectral, a sample can dragged per layer, and no NMF (or NFM) processing, AI based separation, or you drag a sample and it is seperated by AI, in sensible layers, how many depends on the source, but mostly 6. it is converted to timbres, which already Abyss had (so Novum is an extension of Abyss, or better, it can also make timbres for Abyss, at some point this will be implemented in Abyss..), so no FFT/iFFT, there is pre-processing; STFT, you see it when you use the Timbre Flower. (or is STFT at that stage?). so you can change timbre/amplitude, frequency and time seperate from eachother, already at spectral level. than you have granular per layer... which also includes the amplitude of course, but also start and loop settings... and many more and then; syntify and/or comb filter and then; the effects many layers for 6 layers..... you can blend samples, you can change the character, in a spectral way of a sample, a layer, etc. etc. etc. and of course all what is possible with a granular synth, with 6 layers! and low on CPU!
@@FoliaSound it seems a minor thing, but Tracktion deserves also the credits, for giving a platform for unique synths, for developers; they are all unique. well i own 5 of the synths... all unique, and for example Biotek 2, underrated (which is a Tracktion synth, but made by strangely again an independent developer, with quite a reputation and well deserved).. but Abyss has attracted attention, and well Novum; you have experienced it yourself!
I prefer granular synthesis over fm synthesis they sound almost the same to me imo , but granular feels more flexible and easier to create those weird outer space vibes and so on , especially when you can use your own sounds/samples and such , I dig plugins like this , this looks promising it does one thing but it does it really well
Bought it a while ago, really in love with this plug-in :) it is pretty suitable for dystopian stuff, also ambient ofc
You made me open this synth today, thanks :D

I'll write my remarks then, too. Good to know they're responsive, thanks!
@@issiewizzie , ah, this is something known to almost every producer in the world, an endless source of ambiental textures :) I love it!
Świetna recenzja, dziękuję.
Do usług, dziękI!
Hi, hi! What do you think about Novum? What's your approach to granular synthesis? A must? A no-go? Lemme know in the kommentz!
It seems very powerful. I hope that the developer will add my #1 annoyance/problem: No midi learn button.
I bought it but it’s still in trailer mode
Sorry to hear that. Maybe try to reach out to their support?

Novum is not made by Traction, it is created by Dawesome.
Yep, I learned that already, thanks!
No. Grm tools and reverb.
