Whoa!! Nice presentation . . . I must have this. This seems like an ambient soundscape texturizing dream. I can finally do something otherworldly with my atmospheric samples. Thank you!
I've been testing and composing with dozens of VST powerful instruments, and Novum is the best! It's flexible and sounding amazing! Can't wait to try the MPE possibilities! Thanks Peter V.
While other VST instruments often merely adopt hardware synthesizers in terms of sound generation concepts and visuals, this one breaks completely new ground. Mindblowing and nothing less than the future of synthesizers in my eyes/ears!
Purchased it yesterday. Novum is really what it says on the tin. It’s novel. It’s different. It can act like a regular synth, but it can also create all those organic textures that you usually have to piece together from tons of samples with such ease. I was blown away how far I could take a field recording of flowing water. This synth is really innovative! Fantastic work!
Just tested it out via trial and its fantastic, also through testing, considering I like to save all of my instrument presets etc via my DAWS system.. I appreciate that it supports the ability to save any samples I drag in, to the preset files I save via my DAW. Will definitely be buying this soon.
Would LOVE to have the Synthify engine as a separate plugin. Super interesting "anti filter" sound. Your instruments are so unique. Have had so much fun using this synth so far!!!
That sounded dawesome! The possibilities it has are endless and to me sounded very expressive. It will be an instabuy for me tomorrow. (Hope it will have and introduction discount)
What an awesome software!!! And sintify as a VST plugin might be quite cool. I think it might have great success as a very simple "enhancer" plugin! I would use it
how more i see previews of Novum, i see things that i didn't saw before, but expected... and those are great, and well the combinations of possibilities, this will be a great sounddesign synth, with MPE... modulating modulators! unexpected, but i think once asked it? but for something else... syntify, per layer, how will it do with MPE? well i discover when it comes out, on a saturday!
first Abyss and now Novum :X IMO Dawesome has singlehandedly raised the bar for the plugin game honestly. They are so unique and different from everything else on the market currently that it doesn`t even feel right to refer to them just as synths. Even if someone has never seen them before and is unaware of their functionality they`ll know exactly what they are in for as soon as they open them up because the interface just screams of what they are capable of.
Thanks for the incredible synthesizer! Are there any plans to add dotted / triplet options to the tempo sync? I was working on an experimental 6/8 piece the other day with the novum demo and was sad to not have them.
@@dawesome As if you hadn`t earned my respect already :O You Sir should be an example for all software developers out there and I don`t mean just the ones who are in the music/plugin industry - if everyone was so passionate about their product and had such a connection with their userbase we would live in a better world !
with the samples how do you lock the key mapping so that when you click on a C note on the piano it actually plays the sample with tuned C pitch, is it the "C3" that is under the homogennized button?
On the SYN page you can set the reference pitch. Simply click on ESTIMATE, in most cases this will just do it. If the pitch of the sample is ambiguous you can also set the reference pitch directly.
Yes! It supports polyphonic and monophonic aftertouch and polyphonic MPE-pressure if your DAW sends that midi data to the plugin. You can use Novum for 90 days as a free trial without any restrictions - just click UNLOCK / START TRIAL to get the 90 days started.
You can import samples from your fiel system to the Novum plugin UI. If you have a region in Logic that you want to decompose in Novum do the following: locate the region in the Logic project audio browser. Click ⇧⌘ R (Key Command: Show files in finder) and then drag and drop the selected audio file to Novum.
I like it, but I have to agree that the grain control is very poor. Has some very weird modulation going on. Also, drop in a drum loop and when it cycles around it misses the first part of the loop, no way to prevent it. Goes from thump-thump to frap frap, lol. Have to say, makes some nice sounds but you can't use it for anything more than experimental because the grain control just isn't precise enough. No sub osc either. No preview (sample or patch). Bit of a gimmick synth. Needs serious grain control. Loved Abyss though, that was what it was and it was very good. Gave it a good going over though, but had to delete it. Was very annoying.
The plugin that changed the game. Myth is equally compelling and marvelous. Very well done Peter!

Peter, like Abyss this is amazing work. So thankful ... i will use them most in my planned album ^^
Novum looks and sounds AMAZING! Here's to receiving all of the success you deserve for creating this amazing instrument! 🤘
This is going to be my go-to synth from now on.
I've been testing and composing with dozens of VST powerful instruments, and Novum is the best! It's flexible and sounding amazing! Can't wait to try the MPE possibilities! Thanks Peter V.
NOVUM is an amazing granular synth and sampler. Wow!
While other VST instruments often merely adopt hardware synthesizers in terms of sound generation concepts and visuals, this one breaks completely new ground. Mindblowing and nothing less than the future of synthesizers in my eyes/ears!
A truly unique and inspiring VST, well done to all at Dawesome Music!

Congrats on another inspiring and innovative instrument, Peter! Thanks for your contribution.
This is so inspiring looks so good
This looks and sounds simply amazing. Can't wait to try it out myself. :-)
Thanks for posting this Peter, liked and subscribed. And thanks to Chris at S1gns of L1fe for bringing Novum to our attention. 😃🥰

My god how many nights will I waste playing with this! What will my wife say when I am barely alive in the morning... man I love it!
Give her a copy of Novum, in this way you will be compatible in the morning!
very good demo, thanks a lot
Please consider iOS in the future.

Ridiculous! It's nothing short of Sorcery 😊
Hope you send/sent this to Venus Theory!
Sure, no worries!
YESSSSS I WANT SYNTIFY AS AN FX PLUGIN THAT SOINDED AWESOME 😳

I like the idea! Drop me a mail to peter at dawesomemusic dot com to discuss a few questions I have on this!

Hi Peter, I just bought Novum and I think it is really fantastic! I'm trying to map my Expressive-E Touché to the Timbre Flower. Is this possible?
Hi Steve, you can map the Touché to nearly anything, but not to the timbre flower. If you want details mail me: peter at dawesomemusic dot com
Wow. I can only say....wow.
Just a idea and wondering if granular convolution can be something for a next version of Novum?
Where can I find the sounds that you drag and dropped into Novum?
Please add midi learn to your synths. A no-buy from me until this basic facility exists.
You can thank Steinberg for the terrible midi learn support in the VST3 SDK

great demo . I just bought KULT , it is amazing . novum is next , but lack of midi learn is hard to understand why is like that ?
How on earth am I only just hearing about this!!!! Take my wallet!!!!!
Does Novum support polyphonic after touch?

Can I import a track straight from Logic?

after taking it , i need someone explain every knob in it !
You can access the user guide via the main menu in the upper left. Its short, readable and works like a series of mini-tutorials!
3:40 bro became Pink Floyd

It's no Quanta but some of the features are cool! Very cool sounding presets.
