Great review mang! Yeah, I've been using them since the beginning of the year, I believe we chatted about them a while back comparing them to the Sennheisers lol, but one key reason why I prefer these Xvives, and is something that you forgot to mention, is that if your gig is going for over 5 hours and the juice is running low on these devices, you can actually charge them up while they are on and keep the party going! Yup!, but you'll have to buy a couple battery packs with extra micro-USB to USB-A cables to plug them in or plug them in directly to the wall with the cables on a 5V USB power adapter. I used them this past Saturday for a private party but the gig went passed 5 hours and the juice was running low on all four of them. Luckily I purchased 2 extra micro-USB cables with a pair of battery packs to plug the receivers directly into each battery pack that I gaffed taped to each speaker, and the transmitters to a duo USB power cube and that kept the party going!! (because yes just like you, I'm trying to go completely wireless to make the load outs faster! lol) I'm just disappointed that if I had just waited, I would have gotten them for a lot cheaper, I paid about $299 for the pair earlier this year, and just like the Air-Force One's, I had to buy two pairs! lol But my ROI has been great with them! lol!.. I'm also a big fan of them. Oh & one more thing, as long as you keep them in line of sight with each other, there are hardly any dropouts with the signal! Love the Xvives U3's! Yeah man they are nifty! I keep mine with two 6' patch cables and gaff tape to really raise them up for direct line of sight. Also have two sets of XLR to 1/4" so you can plug in instruments etc, also an XLR to 1/8" to transmit from my projector to my mixer. Aloha from Honolulu!

I really appreciate the videos you make. A couple of questions. Since it's a 2.4ghz signal, does wireless networks cause issues? And with a battery life of 5 hours, can they be used while plugged in to power?
@@ClevelandTerry I'm like you Terry I'm a sound guy/DJ and have owned my DJ company for over 35 years so I understand how they but I just won't put them in that across the room situation. Thank you brother Terry
I've had a similar situation, where during an outdoor ceremony about 6 people lined up between the sender and the receiver which was only about 15ft away. The sound was constantly breaking up. I thought it was because of the mobile phones people where wearing, since the XVIVE's also work on the 2.4 GHz band. Haven't used them in critical situations like this ever since.
@clevelandterry I run my wires out of my mixer into a pair of rcf subs and then wires out of sub to my tops crossed over at 90hz. Would I be able to run the xvive out the mixer into the subs, than another set out of sub to my tops?
they need to release a new unit that possibly is battery swappable. another thing is the 2.4 Ghz here in the UK is like over crowded so chance of interference is very high. other than that very good product hesitating to buy at the moment though.
This looks to be an awesome additional to anyone's gear. Now, don't judge me but I have JBL PRX415s, yes, these are passive speakers. Would these XVIVEs work from either an amp or an external mixer to the speakers?
I used a different brand and they worked perfect for an SM58 mic to camcorder, but did not handle a “line” signal from a broadcaster (play by play announcer’s) mixer to my camcorder. I tried “line” and “mic” setting on the camcorder, but didn’t work. Just faint blaring signal. Mine are from Amazon Joyo 5.8ghz and they don’t have the line/mic option.
I like the review, it seem like a product that will help in many situations. Does anybody know how is the latency with regards to doing DJ tricks like scrating or triggering cue point.
These are great depending on location you play, sound cuts off, go and check and realize the whole speaker has disappeared lolololol. Dude walking around town, great mix dude, yea that's Cleveland Terry playing live in the bar in that building lolol....ok not likely to happen but just saying keep an eye on your speakers! hehe.
I returned my set of XVIVE because it kept cutting out. I think it really depends about the amount of interference. i do a lot of events with a lot of bodies and they bombard the signals.
@@ClevelandTerry yeah Terry but if you use a controller that means it will be so high up at eye level you cant see what the heck you are doing, unless you get XLRs and stick them on a pole but that will defeat the wireless beauty of wireless. great review and its certainly spiked my interest however, I would say 5 hours battery life is not enough for me. As a mobile DJ I need 5 hours minimum. I cant have them pushing the limit and running out of battery near the end of a gig
I get lots of dropouts with my xvive can't figure it out ...changed channels.. Cut off my DBX routers and everything.. I might just have a bad unit . if it's not line of sight It breaks up real bad..
@@ClevelandTerry That's a valid point. Also, the G4 isn't really intended to be used for that, it just is capable of it. It's really designed to be a robust wireless lav system. I like the form factor of these. Just curious what their effective range is LOS and with various obstructions. Maybe a stress test.
Greetings sir please can I use XLR cables for my subwoofer and use this wireless for my voice because my subwoofer is passive speakers with external amplifier and crossover
I would stick with the G4’s,, Although I haven’t tried the Xvive before, I have used a similar set up that transmitted through 2.4 before and when the room was empty, they sounded great, once the room filled , I was getting drop outs and this was from around 30ft away.. I ended up ditching that set up and buying the Sennheiser G3 but modified the body packs so they accepted a small power pack so I could plug them into mains and have them powered at all times.. I have modified all my powered speakers so they have a built in outlet in them as well and the power packs plug straight into them.. Never had an issue with the G3’s and I can place them upstairs/downstairs away from my controller (which have the receivers plugged into them) and still get excellent reception..

I really appreciate the videos you make. A couple of questions. Since it's a 2.4ghz signal, does wireless networks cause issues? And with a battery life of 5 hours, can they be used while plugged in to power?
No issue for me with signal and yes they can work plugged in.
Shure PSM 900's for me. 4 times as much but never have issues across large venues.
well if cleveland terry like it then i believe it must be a good product. btw how will it work if you running 2 subs and 2 tops?
Run them to the highs and xlr out to the subs.
Awesome Review!
What is the max distance?
I'll have too try mines again, I notice once a few people got between them they had drop outs. Maybe I'll try them again
Raise them up above the people’s heads.
Considering these for a podcast set up with the Rodecaster Pro II
Did you do it? What did you think? Thats the exact reason i'm watching this so i'm interested to hear your feedback!
Great review. Like the product.
@clevelandterry
I run my wires out of my mixer into a pair of rcf subs and then wires out of sub to my tops crossed over at 90hz. Would I be able to run the xvive out the mixer into the subs, than another set out of sub to my tops?
Nice Review. Will this work from throughput of speaker to push sound to another speaker?
Please send us the link for that price drop. And thanks for the great review.
It’s gone. It was on Amazon.
@@ClevelandTerry I’ll verify on eBay. Thanks Terry!
POOOOOOOOh YES!...Imma look into gettin a few of these...i hate cables!! thanks homie.
What is the latency like plz.
I’d presume it isnt perceivable since he’s used it for djing and remember, we have had decades of wireless mics without any latency issues
I also have this same question- curious about the latency.
Yea I’m curious too
The wireless audio delay is sub .5 milliseconds. It’s negligible.
I have this set and notice No perceivable latency
they need to release a new unit that possibly is battery swappable. another thing is the 2.4 Ghz here in the UK is like over crowded so chance of interference is very high. other than that very good product hesitating to buy at the moment though.
Great to know. Thank you.
Hello Cleveland, in my Gmail Account, you told me that I won some Dj Gear. Can you let me know what I won and how? Thank you!
It’s a scam
This looks to be an awesome additional to anyone's gear. Now, don't judge me but I have JBL PRX415s, yes, these are passive speakers. Would these XVIVEs work from either an amp or an external mixer to the speakers?
Your speakers would still have to be wired but you could use these from your mixer to your power amplifier.
Great vid! Would uplighters running on 2.4ghz interfere with these?
Nope. Should be fine
@@ClevelandTerry Thank you :)
Bro, you saved me money! Gratitude.
Same here. I couldn't get them to be solid while testing 2 pairs in my front yard. Drop outs with clear line of site, 50' or so.
The receiver and transmitter should be above the bodies for optimal line of sight.
@@ClevelandTerry yeah Terry but if you use a controller that means it will be so high up at eye level you cant see what the heck you are doing, unless you get XLRs and stick them on a pole but that will defeat the wireless beauty of wireless. Its a great idea for like many said, 50 feet away but may as well throw some XLR down for that short of a distance.
You need to invest in a uhf IEM system , if you have a spare mic transmitter with tuneable frequencies then just buy a decent receiver , works great
@@TopblokeGolf thanks but I recently bought the Vocopro silent pa. I tested it at 200 feet and works well going through buildings and trees
great review and its certainly spiked my interest however, I would say 5 hours battery life is not enough for me. As a mobile DJ I need 5 hours minimum. I cant have them pushing the limit and running out of battery near the end of a gig
Terry, have you ever used these for a lapel mic system?
Apparently you have created a demand, because they price is back up to $199. Still might give them a try.
There was a sale on these in Amazon for $169.99. If you didn't catch the sale like me, lol, it went up to $199.99
Ouch. Sorry.
Are these available in Canada? I’d give them a shot
I get lots of dropouts with my xvive can't figure it out ...changed channels.. Cut off my DBX routers and everything.. I might just have a bad unit . if it's not line of sight It breaks up real bad..
I bought 2 pair of Xvive, couldnt get them to work in my front yard, big dropouts at 50-feet with clear line of sight. Got rid of them ASAP.
ALSO IF YOU USE 1 TRANSMITER AND MULTIPLE RECEIVER JUST HAVE TO BE IN THE SAME CHANNEL IT WILL WORK
Yes, I said that.
Just got 3 pairs of these. We’ll now have wireless speakers and 1 wireless mic at the church
Great insights. As Jazzy Jeff said, You gotta adapt to technology, or else you become obsolete.
NO USB-C :( Micro-USB breaks down too quickly
Maybe but I don’t have a single product that uses micro that doesn’t work anymore. Quickly is a relative term.
Do you notice any Latency, very interested in using these instead of XLR to the speakers. But jut a bit worried. Please respond
Also, can you use the "link out" option on a WIRED powered main to put the xvive receiver on a 3rd powered main?? In case I need to add a 3rd speaker
why not use a g4 body pack?
Never needed to and it cost twice as much?
@@ClevelandTerry That's a valid point. Also, the G4 isn't really intended to be used for that, it just is capable of it. It's really designed to be a robust wireless lav system.
I like the form factor of these. Just curious what their effective range is LOS and with various obstructions. Maybe a stress test.
@@MBrulla I bought 2 pair of Xvive, couldnt get them to work in my front yard, big dropouts at 50-feet with clear line of sight. Got rid of them ASAP.
Could you use one of these and get an adapter for 1/4" to put into a mixers headphone jack and then pair up a wireless headset?
So can one transmitter in the mixer operate two receivers on seperate speakers?
Are you sure I can have 1 tx and 2 riceivers that riceive the same signal? 1 tx on the mixer and 2 speaker placed far away?
Skaa is the way to go if you want to go wireless.
Are those UHF? I couldn’t find anything on what frequencies they operate on
I’m going with SKAA way better
The comments have me nervous.. I’m worried to go in a venue with AP’s and a lot of bodies in between, and not be able to even get 20’
I bought 2 pair of Xvive, couldnt get them to work in my front yard, big dropouts at 50-feet with clear line of sight. Got rid of them ASAP.
Can use these to wirelessly monitor with headphones?? I don't want to have to buy xvive u4 if I don't have to.
Steteo signal from a single xlr?
Have you tried using more than 2 ?
Can they be used while they plug in so you don’t have to worry about dying after the 5 hours?
Which has more distance range? These or the Sennheiser?
Greetings sir please can I use XLR cables for my subwoofer and use this wireless for my voice because my subwoofer is passive speakers with external amplifier and crossover
If your using for dual speakers do you need on your mixer to have 2 receivers for left and right
Damn it CT…now I have to buy these…was avoiding them cause I have the Senhieser G4s but that’s are more convenient
I would stick with the G4’s,,
Although I haven’t tried the Xvive before, I have used a similar set up that transmitted through 2.4 before and when the room was empty, they sounded great, once the room filled , I was getting drop outs and this was from around 30ft away..
I ended up ditching that set up and buying the Sennheiser G3 but modified the body packs so they accepted a small power pack so I could plug them into mains and have them powered at all times..
I have modified all my powered speakers so they have a built in outlet in them as well and the power packs plug straight into them..
Never had an issue with the G3’s and I can place them upstairs/downstairs away from my controller (which have the receivers plugged into them) and still get excellent reception..
how would these be useful wireless wise. New to the movement, old school dj. Do you have to have wireless setup speakers bluetooth etc?
They are wireless xlr. Xlr cables without the need for the cables.
I've been using these for well over a year. A lot of guys scoff at me because they aren't Sennheiser 😒. Now I can send them this video. 🤣
