      Thanks James for the kind words. I used to have most all the silver age keys but glad I kept the ones I did. ASM1 is my favorite for sentimental reasons.

    Fun fact - Tales to Astonish issue 44 was one of the few Marvel Silver Age keys for which the lead story was never reprinted as part of an ongoing title (Marvel Tales, etc.).
    That said, there is a True Believers series facsimile. It was published a few years ago.

    Wow amazing collection. Thanks for the shout out too. The Captain America #1 is awesome. That book is mega grail. I like the Crime Suspense Stories 22 and the Ginger (great character highly under rated). Lots of really great stuff.

      @Comic Collector Geek. Thanks my man. You're the person who inspired me to make this video. I like your copies of Ginger 3 and CSS22 too. And, I appreciated your take on the CSS22 backstory in one of your videos. And, btw, my real heat is in early golden age :-)

      Glad to see you appreciate the finer aspects of comic collecting :-). FYI: I'll post a few more Schomburg-oriented videos in the future. Re postal service: I worked as a mail processor for a couple summers. Actually, pretty good experience. Thanks for watching!

    Awesome books! Fun fact about Matt Baker, of which I rarely hear when he’s talked about, is that he’s actually the first black cartoonist who was ever given credits in the publications, at the time of publication. There were many black cartoonists before/around the same era but they were never given credits until decades later. Also interesting, he got his start at Jerry Iger’s studio in early 40s. Iger’s grandson is Bob Iger, the revered chairman and CEO of Disney. Collect more Baker 👨‍🍳

      Hi juvenilefood. Thanks for the info...yeah, I knew that Matt Baker was like the Jackie Robinson of comic books. I always think how damn good he must have been to earn these opportunities in the late '40s and '50s. I didn't know the connection with Jerry and Bob Iger. Interesting. I love Baker. When it comes to Good Girl Art, he has no rival in my opinion :-)

    You will need to hunt Punisher number 5 in the 4- issue mini series. They made a mistake with the numbering. Good luck also finding number 1.

    Nice collection ! I am glad to see the other comics you have besides the marvels and dc’s although there is nothing wrong with them. Is there a market for these other books like the Harvey’s and dells and others ? I also see a lot of your comics are not graded, any reason for that ? Thanks !

    • @kestonsoldschoolcomicbooks6842
      @kestonsoldschoolcomicbooks6842  3 года назад

      @Zeee Man. Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, Marvel and DC get a lot of love from collectors relative to Harveys and Dells. But, there is a market for some of the books, especially those that are older, 10 cents and 12 cents. For example, some of Dell's earlier Walt Disney books can be costly.

      My slabbed books (professionally graded by CGC) were bought that way. And most, but not all, are at least worth a few hundred dollars. Generally speaking my unslabbed books were bought at a relatively low price (under $300). Some of them have gone up enough in value to justify slabbing if I were to sell them (e.g., ASM 300 or Avengers 1).

    Captain America 1 8.0
