Hey there Julia, you must get a lot of satisfaction creating your own designer paper, co-ordinating vellum, embellishments and sentiments. This card is lovely and would be great to send off to one of your friends that loves sewing. To be honest Julia, I think vellum needs a softer and more subtle design that you can put over the card to soften the image underneath.
On the odd occasion I have thrown away a card that went pear shaped, but I try and be careful to complete the front of the card before adhering it to the card base. With water colour projects that makes it possible.
I noticed during the video that I could hear traffic noise, and not so much your precious dogs. I think those background noises are wonderful and make videos like these real.
God's blessings, love and hugs. 🤗🌻💖
G'Day Gloria! It really surprised me, how enjoyable the design process on canva can be! There is a huge amount of artwork loaded in the program. One of my goals for the studio is to start doing more with water colour. I am truly a beginner and really am interested in developing my skill in that area, along with calligraphy. Have a Blessed Week, love and hugs back atcha!
Lovely card. Fabric flowers were one of my very first card supplies! I lived in a town with zilch papercrafts and I had to be inventive in my creating
Hi Julie - We've been in the same boat then. Until the Dollar Tree moved to town, there was absolutely nothing to craft with. It was all 35 miles away.
Julia the card is beautiful and great idea for giving someone your new address. If make a card and decide I don't like it. I put into a card box that I give to a friend who makes cards. She is not very creative so she appreciates all the help I can give her.
Thanks Nina! What a good idea!
LOVE the paper and embellishments you designed!!! LOVELY card!!! I don't tend to throw cards out. I might alter them, maybe a different sentiment. TFS!!! Have a GREAT week!!!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't throw cards out. I even have trouble throwing cards I receive out. I like to study them and pull them out for inspiration sometimes!
I love the seamstress theme paper. Cute idea for a moving card.
Thanks Roxanne! I added a few more sentiments to the paper suite after making this card - "It's only fitting . . . to wish you a Happy Day" is one that comes to mind.
Hey julia, beautiful card lovely colours. I dont throw away cards that go wrong, they usually get salvaged, cut up and so on. I figure you put time in making it so dont waste it. Lovely to see you. You take care. ❤X
That's a perfect way of expressing how I feel about my cards as well! Thanks Linda!
Great card and paper, it would be a great card for someone that sews too...Thanks Julia.
I totally agree; or quilters also. Hope you are having a good week Terrie! Hugs to you!
Sew cute!!!!!!😁
Thanks Pamela!!
I use Hammermill 60 and 80 the most. Both go through my ink jet and laser printer nicely. I use the 60 for if I am planning to do multiple layers, to keep the weight down. Both are nice for ink blending on and for copic coloring. That card turned out really cute!
Thanks Maureen - I may try the 80 next time I run short on paper.
Hi Julia, what a great card -- loved the paper and your idea of using it to let a friend know you've moved. I'm not trashing too many cards any more. Sometimes they get cannibalized to work into other cards though. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
Howdy Suz! Hope all is well with you. I found this paper really easy to make up into cards. It's a fun process to design and then use your own paper!!
I like the template for 2cards and the bookmark! You did great on that paper best stitches! Lol Cute!
I don’t think I’ve ever thrown away a card just cover up all boo-boos! lol I enjoyed the video! 👍
Hi Leslie - That's pretty much the way I roll too. If it's a card I don't like, it goes in storage for a while (time out) until it can come out and give me an idea of how to make it better!! LOL
Great audition of new way for paper with ideas!
Thanks Barbara - Have a great week!
I love colored vellum...your dsp is darling!
Thanks Betty! I am open to suggestions on the vellum, I'm drawing a blank! But I just had to do a print to see how it worked. It's amazing stuff!!
Love this paper!!
Thanks m'Friend! It was a lot of fun to create.
Great job on your digitals! Nice job on the cards! Love you can get 2 out of a single sheet, very creative.
Will look forward to your future Canva videos when you have a chance to catch up from your move. I might have to give Canva another chance.
Take care!😊
Thanks Morgaine! I designed that paper to make 4 A2 fronts, or 3 minislimline cards. And it certainly is nice to be able to print on demand!!
Great card Julia, and I enjoyed the video.
Thanks Helen! Have a wonder full week!
👍🏻I ordered the PVA glue that you recommended. It was indeed much less expensive and just as good as AGG. Thanks !!!
Hi Linda - I am so glad you like it! I have really been impressed with it. The dry time is a little longer than AGG for embellishments; so be aware of that.
I’m so glad ur back!
Oh Gosh - ME TOO!!!!!!!
I love your paper - I would chop this into 4 .
Hi Gail - My original thought in designing was either 4 A2 fronts or 3 minislimlines. The paper works either way. But you do have to keep it in mind when designing.
Great paper!
Thanks Misty! It was a lot of fun designing it!
I have been trowing away a few cards in the 4 years I am making cards but not to many. I do notice that some cards never get send because they never seem right for the person I want to send it to! They always end up at the end of the box. It's not really trowing them away, is it?🤭
LOL I don't count it thowing away until they manage to get in the bag that goes to the recycle and completely aout the door LOL!!!
What type of printer do you have? I love your videos!❤
Last year I purchased this one - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B4PMYCWC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Hi Julie, may I ask what big shot do you recommend because their are so many , thank you
I started with a cuttlebug that I totally loved. But hand cranking started to affect my wrist so I switched to Gemini. I actually have 3 sizes of Geminis and would highly recommend the Junior. It handles most everything I die cut.
