I know there are plenty that are surprised to find that the piece of music for when I give an animated film the lowest score has changed from The Lion King to the Game Over theme from Super Mario 64. As much as I'd like to use that Lion King song and also think it is better than what is here, I want to explain that I have no choice but to change it because of copyright. Universal Music Group is one of the worst companies when it comes to handling copyright on RUclips and are infamously trigger-happy to give everyone a claim even if it's just a few seconds of music that belongs to them. No matter what I do, UMG will always hit me with a copyright claim no matter how I use or alter that Lion King song for the end and I don't want to keep dealing this for every time I review a REALLY bad movie. So my only option was to find a suitable replacement and Super Mario 64 is my best option, especially when it won't get me hit by copyright claims. Maybe it's a slight downgrade, but if you're upset of the switch, blame UMG, not me. Also, how was I suppose to know when I made the review that Saberspark would end up releasing his review a little earlier than me? Poor Mat. This movie just went ahead, and forced him to give it the cold shoulder. And I don't think the ice or snow did not have nothing to do with it.

The latter movie was decent, at least. But we also got 2015's Strange Magic, 2014's... Planes 2, I think, with how it was made in less than a year, and 2013's Walking with Dinosaurs: The SHUT UP Edition.
Norm of the North was way worse. Arctic Dogs was just kinda generic and forgettable, with passable animation. He did it for his 6-year old daughter as well as promoting his music career. He got 5 songs in the Arctic Dogs soundtrack. That being said... the soundtrack's horrible, not gonna lie.
In fact, I think it might have only been made so that Jeremy Renner could get his song heard. Which, to be honest, is pretty good. The lyrics are a bit generic, but at least the composition is catchy.
@@c0mf0rta61ynum6 It almost seems like they do. I mean, we've got three "Norm of The North" (god why?), and this probably will get sequels since Norm did, and then what? A crossover between the two?
Also, I don't think the Monsters Inc comparison is very apt. At least Waternose has a reason as to why he does this sort of thing. Let's watch my favorite part again, shall we? "I will kidnap a thousand children before I let this company die!" And he does this to prevent what is essentially the collapse of society since the world is starting to be desensitized from monsters. John's character here just wants to cover everything in lava and destroy his home... because bad guy. What this movie did poorly ripoff is Zootopia; a small fluffy creature aspires to join a service which is primarily only fit for the big guys, so wants to prove himself by playing to his advantages. He even gets briefly fired like Judy Hopps was, but circumstances get him back on the force. But unlike Judy, who does what she does to make the world a better place, Swifty only does it to seem like badass. When Judy feels like she makes things worse and doesn't see a way to resolve it, she quits until she realizes the truth and goes to resolve it. She's pretty admirable. Swifty... well, let's just say this doesn't do Hawkeye any favors.
Same here. I remember seeing Toy Story 4 in theaters a second time the weekend after it came out with my younger sister (first time I saw it was opening weekend), and we got a trailer for Arctic Dogs in front of it.
If anything, I feel the real issue with Otto isn't even him ripping off other villains. It's the fact that his entire evil plan makes no sense and clearly has no thought put into it. Think about it. In the scene introducing him, he talks about how the top dogs who deliver packages are a problem... because someone delivered a package to him that he ordered. So his henchmen kidnap them so they can't deliver more packages after which he chews them out for preventing them from bringing him the parts he needs for his doomsday device even though he said in an earlier scene that something needed to be done about them and them delivering a package and asking for a signature was a problem. Then when Swifty delivers a second package to him successfully, he seems satisfied... only to try and rush his plan by kidnapping Jade, the one who's been making him the parts and giving her less of a reason to trust him. Heck, it's because of this that she installs a self destruct mechanism on his machine as revenge for kidnapping her, making this even dumber on his part. Tiny: I'm just not sure how well this plan was thought through. Otto: *Fuming at the head* Tiny: Master?
the old theme was WAY better than the new one. I even e-mailed Animat to tell him to bring back the new theme. Even that one was my favorite Animat score theme soundtrack. It's from The Lion King!
Skyler Joven Well, I guess he’ll only use King of Pride Rock on any animated movie that he gives a 1/10 rating in the future...if he ever gets a request to review something as bad as Foodfight! or Where the Dead Go to Die.
Oscar95451 Also, this is the first time where he gives the story, animation, and characters a score between the levels of Norm of the North and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (I respect his opinion on that film). And Mat didn’t even mention that this is one of the worst animated films ever, which he normally does whenever he reviews an animated film that he would give either one of these scores.
@@calebdoerksen2 lol speaking of that, Norm of the North Keys to the Kingdom is on his animation hat. One RUclipsr said he requested that movie to animat.
Skyler Joven I don’t know if he’s ever going to use the Animation Hat again. I mean, the last time he used it was when he got a request to review Rock-a-Doodle at the end of his review of Doogal. Oh man, I once thought Uglydolls was the worst movie of 2019. But then comes this "Norm of the North clone" to steal its place. This movie actually makes Uglydolls look like a Disney Movie. So now we can consider "Artic Dogs" and "Playmobil: The Movie" tied for being the worst movie of 2019! P.S: If you are wondering why this looks too much like "Norm of the North", it's because the animation is made by "Assemblage Entertainment" which is the same studio who did the animation on "Norm of the North".

Awesome Rant on Arctic Dogs. I absolutely despise this movie with a flaming passion and I agree everything you said about this movie. Anyways, Great Rant buddy and I’ll definitely stay away from this movie for the rest of my life.
After watching this video, I have three takes from it: 1. I think this is quite possibly the angriest I've seen AniMat in a Reviews or Classic Reviews video since the "Cloudy 2" review back in 2013. 2. Apparently the ratings music for movies that get a 1/10 or 2/10 has been changed. I don't know if it's a good thing (since at least it's not as creepy as the old one) or a bad thing (since it sounds way too similar to the music for the 3-4/10 movies). 3. We got the "Ice Age 2" Classic Reviews video delayed because of this movie!? And 4. "Playmobil" is getting released in the US and (possibly, since they're two different countries) Canada on December 5. Does anyone think it will have a chance at robbing "Arctic Dogs" of the number one spot? And for the record, I haven't seen the movie. Not that I can, since I don't live in North America. Not to mention the fact that I no longer watch animated movies in theaters (although "Onward" may change that soon). And even if neither of these factor were there, after hearing all the negative buzz around it, I think I'll definitely avoid this one in particular at all costs and hope no one tries to release it here.
Two things to say about this comment: 1. If that's what you think about how angry Animat is, check out this review whether you've seen it or not: //ruclips.net/video/ydvQB-4bBfQ/видео.html 2. I prefer the old rating music. The old soundtrack was from The Lion King (animated one) at the scene where Simba confronts Scar.
I wonder if its a one time thing. Usually he gives movies a 2 if its one of the worst things ever but this isn’t. Just really horrible. Idk I’m just guessing here.
Jan Mikhail Gaid The soundtrack version is a mix of both when Scar accuses Simba of murdering Mufasa before Simba nearly falls off Pride Rock and what you said. There is an extended version, where they got the part during the battle between the lions and Scar.
Even though it was reported to have little to no advertising,Arctic Dogs did have at least 3 TV spots on the Entertainment Studios RUclips channel, at least a week before the release of the movie.

Yeah it's no wonder this thing bombed, I had never heard of it before the news of how it was the biggest bomb for a movie playing in as many theaters as it was
I was expecting the Ice Age 2 review today, but I’ll gladly take this. This review was hilarious (especially the beginning) and while the new song at the end was a little jarring, it’s not a big deal. This might be one of the funniest reviews you’ve made and it was really enjoyable to watch.
Well, Arctic Dogs is this year's Norm of the North and The Emoji Movie, by the way, one of the studios that produced Arctic Dogs is Assemblage Entertainment, which is one of the studios that made Norm of the North. Still, so far, 2019 has been one of the worst years for animated films, what make it sadder is this year is the final year of the 2010 decade, for animated films, what a terrible year to end the decade on. let's hope that next year in 2020, the start of the new decade, we'll have a better year for animated films.
While I agree that a whole lot of terrible movies (such as that movie, which I plan to watch with my friends at the end of the month in Singapore) came out this year, unlike in 2017 when there was a similar scenario, 2019 got a great amount of good movies to make up for the bad ones, both from mainstream and indie sides. At least we got HTTYD3, Toy Story 4, Abominable, Lego Movie 2, Missing Link and potentially Frozen 2, Klaus and Shaun the Sheep 2 from the mainstream lineup, but we also got amazing indie animated movies, such as Weathering with You, Ne Zha, White Snake, Brunel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles, Minuscule: Mandibles from Far Away, Mosley, Children of the Sea, The Swallows of Kabul and potentially the Academy Award winner, I Lost My Body. But yeah, Arctic Dogs (Or Arctic Justice... or Polar Squad...) is my Norm of 2019...
Swifty must be like if you take Surly and Grayson from The Nut Job, Scorch Supernova from Escape From Planet Earth, and Qwark from Ratchet and Clank combined into one.
This movie broke the record of the worst opening weekend on the box office of all time with $2.9 million.I blame that on the advertisers not even showing crap
New music for 1-2/10. I predict The the worst list will all have The Animat Seal of Garbage like 2013, with 5th Worst:The Addams Family (4/10) 4th Worst: UglyDolls (4/10) 3rd Worst: Wonder Park (4/10) 2nd worst: Playmobil the Movie (2/10) maybe??? 1st Worst: ARCTIC DOGS (2/10)
This film's lead does beg the question, dear Mat... Will there ever be a Top 10 Worst Animated Protagonists? I'm betting the leads in here, The Nutjob, Escape from Planet Earth and the Emoji Movie will at least be in the top 5.
If you ask me, Swifty (the main protagonist of Arctic Dogs) will definitely be up on the list along with Norm for top 2, but I would rank him higher than Norm. The reason is that he is a terrible role model as he is very egoistic and self-centered without looking back at his past actions and think 'What have I done?'. For instance, at the start of the second act, when the Top Dogs got kidnapped by the puffins, instead of caring about them, he took the opportunity to get that spot that he always wanted and talked his way to get the delivery job. He also had terrible interactions with Jade and other characters, being a manipulative protagonist that doesn't have empathy and tact in any way. Norm, on the other hand, may be a moron, but at least he has some good intentions. For me, the best protagonists have the complete image: a great backstory, good morals and who cared about others in dire situations instead of themselves. Swifty possess none of them and to me, that is why Swifty is of the most hated animated movie protagonists of recent memory.
I remember seeing this film not too long ago only as an advertisement on television, I work as a door Dasher, And as I was waiting for my Delivery to be made, out of nowhere The advertisement for the film, It was the first time I ever seen the film being shown advertised on television, I thought to myself at first “it looked like a very cheap looking Cash grab.” so I ignored it and then out of nowhere the advertisement was showing for a second time,Then that's where I noticed that something wasn't quite right about the film. To me I'm not really used to seeing advertising has been shown twice in a row, Therefore I noticed that this fellow is going to be a massive failure so instead I decided to ignore it and move on with my Delivery job, then several weeks later I heard it was released and it was a massive flop of a film. As an art student, I kind of know my differences between quantity and quality, This film Arctic dogs is not just quantity it's pure garbage.
Okay, I haven't seen this movie, and I doubt I ever will, but I gotta ask: Why did this thing get a worldwide release in theaters, yet something promising like Klaus only got a limited run?
You should do a history of the making of this movie sometime. I think it'd be interesting to know what happened behind-the-scenes to cause the delay in production since it was first announced in August 2014 and was supposed to come out January 2018 but for some reason was delayed to November 2019

Norm of the North was painfully obnoxious with horrid humor, migraine-inducing animation, and the most annoying characters possible.

0:39 *Actually SaberSpark did a review on Arctic Dogs too😂😂*
I only heard of this when I saw Toy Story 4 in July.
Same here. I remember seeing Toy Story 4 in theaters a second time the weekend after it came out with my younger sister (first time I saw it was opening weekend), and we got a trailer for Arctic Dogs in front of it.
I remember seeing the trailer before seeing Toy Story 4. My answer was...PASS!!!
6:08 That animation bug on those characters is just so funny and sad to look at the same time. lol
Otto: *Fuming at the head*
Tiny: Master?

A new theme for the 2/10 score. Wow?
the old theme was WAY better than the new one.
Throughout the whole year, he has gotten literally nothing but Patreon requests, and the only time he’s mentioned the Animation Hat at the end of his “classic” reviews is when he displays his email address on screen below the Patreon link. Maybe at the end of his review of Ice Age: The Meltdown we’ll see the Animation Hat again.

After watching this video, I have three takes from it:
Two things to say about this comment:
1. If that's what you think about how angry Animat is, check out this review whether you've seen it or not: //ruclips.net/video/ydvQB-4bBfQ/видео.html
2. I prefer the old rating music. The old soundtrack was from The Lion King (animated one) at the scene where Simba confronts Scar.
@@MrLopez2004-t9x Thank UMG for forcing him to change it.

Boy, I can already tell this’s gonna be good.
Even The Emoji Movie is better than these two atrocities

0:36 *hears Saberspark* I'm freakin out right now because these two are some of my favorite RUclipsrs :D
Oof, that throws a wrench in my prediction for the decade’s worst list.
Humans are stupid
You should do a history of the making of this movie sometime. I think it'd be interesting to know what happened behind-the-scenes to cause the delay in production since it was first announced in August 2014 and was supposed to come out January 2018 but for some reason was delayed to November 2019
