- his brother is literally a spy from a dead nation of underground people and he’s also kind of the prince of those people who all happen to be immortal monsters now.
It would explain why he had a delusion before they were being mass produced. And why it was such a strong delusion that Diluc could use effectively.

The counter-arguments for Crepus not being a good choice for a harbinger can easily be argued.
1. A political narrative for Mondstadt and Sneznhaya would be fascinating. Especially if the Ragnvindrs still have close ties to Decarabian.
2. Current Harbingers likely don’t care about long dead colleagues who were removed dishonorably.
3. The Harbingers DID arrange an “accident.” Though Crepus was the only casualty, I don’t doubt that Diluc, the sole heir to Mondstadt’s greatest economic power and knight captain who had just come of age was probably also their target. They may not have finished the job because there was little benefit to do so. Even when Diluc actively attacked their outposts, they still let him go to lick his wounds. It wouldn’t surprise me if they actually do want him alive for some future reason now.
4. I agree with you here. No comment.
5. If a harbinger was dishonorably “discharged,” I can see them not rushing to fill it. That or they’re keeping the current harbinger very hush hush. They could be a spy or sleeper agent.
6. Crepus wounded Ursa. I don’t doubt the goal was for Dottore to “avenge” the most beloved family in Mondstadt as a means of endearing the Fatui to them. But Dottore was the one who finished it.
For #3, I could imagine the Harbingers have offered Diluc the tenth spot, or are planning on offering it to him, especially if Crepus was the 10th. I'm not saying Diluc is the 10th, just that they could be keeping it open in order for him to fill it, despite his hatred towards them.
My theory is that Diluc's *mom* was the 10th Harbinger, and a member of/spy for the Hexenzirkel, with Diluc's dad being her cover story (married to a major social/economic/political figure) as well as her accomplice (passing messages along to the Knights of Favonius/Alice, hiding her Delusion should anything happen to her).
I don't think so, the witches don't seem to be interested in political power and don't want to get involved with fations like the fatui, they also seem to have a certain taste for mondstads.
I would say that Diluc's mother was part of the Hexenzirkel, but being she who created the first deceptions and gave it to the fatui for some reason we don't know, and then disappeared, Diluc's father knew this and hid the reason, I mean, Diluc's father surely knew who kaeya was and her importance.
it is possible that his death was only a method of silencing the origin of the deceptions and who created it but did not find its original creator, Diluc's mother.

That’s incorrect though. Diluc’s Hexenzirkel connection is pretty obviously Nicole, the Witch N, and why would she need a cover story when the Hexenzirkel pretty much have similar goals to avoid Celestia’s control.
@@LuxValkyrieonly celestia does not control anyone, she only asks them to follow the rules and laws, that's why the hexenzirkel exists, where they do what they want, only respecting celesita's laws.
Arlecchino straight up says in her story quest that the Harbingers don't really trust her or the House of the Hearth as they represent a source of power and information they can't control. The Harbingers don't seem to trust each other very much. Yet there hasn't been (as far as we've seen) any attempts to assassinate Arlecchino. So Crepus not bring assassinated isn't a problem - it could have been a slow burn that ended up resolving itself.

I think one of the ways to check if a character could be a Fatui Harbinger, is if you can assign a commedia del'arte character to them. If that's the case, which character is Crepus?
It was theorised to be Brighella since Brighella is a tavern owner in the commedia and is projected in white and crepus wore white cloths in the manga

This theory is very convincing since Diluc's Father Crepus has a delusion.
My own speculation seems that
Crepus main mission as a Harbinger was to ensure the safety of Kaeya. I am speculating that Kaeya was brought in by Crepus to teach and protect Kaeya. Pierro possibly gave him this task to safe-keep Kaeya.
oh now that seems very plausible considering pierro probably knows that kaeya is a khaenri'ahn
thats plausabe but why would Pierro wanted to keep Kaeya safe? If he wanted to restore Khaenri'ah to its former glory then it would make sense but from what I have heard, Pierro despite being the Royal mage of Khaenri'ah, he despises the Kingdom for not hearing his objection to kingdom's action that resulted in Catalysm and Curse of immortality placed upon.
You forgot to mention that it was theorized that the "Hand of Glory" constellation was his, which is what tied a lot of smaller pieces of evidence. Now we know for sure that constellation belongs to Arlecchino instead. While I still believe this theory, losing that constellation really weakens the case of Crepus being a Harbinger.
Also, I don't think his delusion being different is a problem. Signora's delusion was also different. That white catalyst-like thing that floats besides her is her delusion, one of the earliest prototypes, hence why it's so different. Crepus' delusion could be one such prototype.
if that were the case then why would Crepus got his hands on that "Prototype Delusion"? Surely an instrument that mimic the usage of vision, the prototype of it should be first handed to only the higher ups like Harbingers to test, right? And also I dont entertain the possibility he recieved it from Dottore mainly cuz why out of all the people, he picked Crepus?

The theory was that Crepus was the 10th Harbinger, so it makes total sense he got the prototype. If you mean someone ranking higher than 10th should've gotten it, well, Signora got one, confirmed, and she was just 2 ranks above 10th. Sure she had a reason, she would either get the Dellusion or DIE, but maybe there was a reason a lower ranking Harbinger would get one. I mean, we know a Dellusion can kill its user (though we're not sure why it kills some and not others), so maybe Dottore knew it could be dangerous and picked the Harbinger they hated the most, so if he died no one would care? Hahahah. I mean, we know so little about this subject that there could be any number of explanations.
But if you mean in case the theory was wrong... Well, maybe he stole it, maybe he wasn't even part of any ranks of the Fatui, maybe he killed the 10th and stole his Dellusion. I'unno.
What if they left the 10th seat unoccupied for Diluc? ☺ they might be interested in him while they were monitoring him
I had a completely insane delulu theory about tenth seat and that it’s belong to a already numbered harbinger - it’s just they have some sort of split persona.
Like, say, Capitano-the-armor, powerful entity and strongest man in Teyvat, is No1 while Capitano-the-body-inside-said-armor, way less impressive and a fake, being No10
The benefit of this theory would making it less jarring if Nicole and Diluc have a relationship with one another of some sort, be it mom-son, distant family, seelie and the knight or just co-conspirators.
Because if they just bring up Diluc out of nowhere because Nicole shows up (assumign the teapot in his place isnt just there to fuck with us), it will be too sudden for most people. But if you set it up with Nicole first working with his dad then Diluc after his death or whatever it will flow better maybe, and involving Hexenzirkel into Fatui affairs makes it less political as well.
Take it as you will, but I noticed that the Travelers constellations combined together oddly kinda fit the shape of the Heresy symbol of the Harbinger wheel, incase anyone believes in the Innamorati theory. The constellations just don't have the wings, but if they did, I have no doubt that it would fit.
i personally think the Travelers are not the Inamorati. instead, I think the Tsaritsa is one of the Inamorati.

I don’t think Crepus was a Harbinger, per se, but I do think he had a connection to the Fatui. After he returned to Mondstadt, the first thing Diluc did was sell off his father’s mansion and everything in it, claiming he saw no reason to keep them. Kaeya is severely sentimental, but so is Diluc, as is proven by the fact that he kept the vase Kaeya gave him, so the fact that he did this seems out of character, which even Kaeya remarks on. It’s almost as if Diluc learned something about the mansion and its contents that made him want everything but the winery out of his life… and the winery has been in the Ragnvindr line for generations, so there are reasons besides Crepus to keep it going. Diluc will never stop loving or missing his father, but I think how he views him has certainly changed since he left Mondstadt.
One thing that i do love from this theory is that you could theorize for the corruption in mondstadt to run deeper than it does. I always thought that Eroch could have a high chance of being a dottore segment like how Escher was. It makes the hiding up by the "knights" make more sense because it was actually the harbingers wanting to save face.
It also would be fun to think that Manga dottore segment and Eroch dottore segment worked together. Thought it could be unlikely because dottore stated not many of his segments like getting along with each other.
Crepes couldve just been a potential route the fatui was planning on using by possibly giving him the delusion in hopes to use him as leverage in a later scheme giving him the power he sought after. At least thats my take on it considering how much not getting into the knights seemed to have bother him.
It could also potentially explain why Kaeya was left at Dawn Winery of all places, because he could have been planted they specifically because of Diluc's dad
I honestly don’t think a guy who couldn’t make it as a knight could make it as a harbinger. #10 no less. If someone like Childe is only 11, I don’t see Crepus getting #10. People like to head canon that Pantalone can’t fight, but Scara calls Childe the weakest, which would mean Pantalone is not in his seat solely because of political/ economic reasons
It’d make sense if their strength was also their assets (or what they brought to the table) as well as their physical ability but I’m not sure if the fatui ranking system has been touched upon much in game aside from it being linked to strength (sorry if this is a bunch of yap 😭)

I personally think the 10th harbinger is an irminsul redacted individual, whixh only the tsaritsa only knows. And his job is an inquisitor, and khaenri'ah investigator. He goes around teyvat investigating into the deeper parts of what happened 500 years ago, much deeper than what scara does on his trips to tge abyss. Maybe hes dealing with forbiden knowledge, so being redacted in irminsul means he cant corrupt anyone.
Hr also might be a key part in project stuzha, which likely is a full scale abyss expedition, where Childe and likely Brighela would lead it, with the help on pantalone on gathering massive funds, and the house of the hearth as preliminary investigation.
Which when we finish szeshnaya AQ were gonna be fully roped into project stuzha, start the khaenri'ah arcs
7:15 I don't think the lack of an assasination would be a problem. We've seen with Scaramouche that some of the Harbingers are VERY good at gaslighting and lying to a young person to such an extent that they get incorporated into the Fatui. Hell, Wanderer even has the following to say about Childe: 'Only someone as dense as Childe would think The Rooster is looking after him and his family out of the goodness of his heart. Although the mayor has indeed done a number of things for their benefit, anyone with a brain would be able to tell that the underlying meaning is "your entire family is in my hands."'
The Fatui's plan could have been to have Crepus basically kill himself through his delusion, then 'adopt' or brainwash Diluc and Kaeya and use their grief and rage to become Harbingers themselves. Sadly Diluc found out about the Delusion and also had his falling out with Kaeya, so that threw multiple spanners in the works.
I always thought it could have been Diluc's mother who was the Harbinger. Which would explain why the dilusion backfired on Crepus, as it's not actually meant for him

I think it's either Diluc's father or it's left empty after Crucabena got killed. I don't think Arlecchino strictly needed to inherit Crucabena's rank, her being much powerful and all.
I think we’ll get to Shneznaya, the we make a tentative agreement with the Tsarista and become the Honorary Harbinger 10. I hope we get a wicked cool splash sheet like when the other Harbingers are introduced.

Well, in the game we have more power than the 8th, and also the 6th Fatui Harbinger, so us being the tenth doesn’t make much sense as we are stronger than that, so…

Secondly, the Harbinger’s power rankings are not exclusively combat prowess- there’s no evidence that Regrator/Pantelone has any combat ability (doesn’t even have a Vision)- Childe probably can beat him in combat. If we aren’t fully committed to being a Harbinger for the Tsarista, why would we get a high ranking?

Also, we don’t know about Pantalone, but from what we know (he likes to battle fair - I think Childe voiceline?) I would say he can fight. Also, Signora said to Scara he is only higher than her because he could endure more from Dottore, so probably (I only guess) Dottore sends a harbinger to some tests, and how well he’ll do them - his seat. And also, again, not having a vision ≠ being powerless, for example Dottore doesn’t have a vision, and he’s the 2nd harbinger. And Arlecchino admitted she would betray Tsaritsa, and she’s the 4th harbinger. But I’m also proposing nonsense based on info we have, nothing is confirmed.

According to the Fatui wallpaper of icons, if Columbina is the bird and Capitano the nails, Pulcinella must be the rooster mask, Dottore is the heresy symbol next to Pulcinella, then is the Shamanic Healing Hand must be Pantalone because he is obsessed with his wealth and wellcare. Finally we have the mask with a tear, a tragic mask, must be Pierro? But in the top of the picture you have the Fatui logo doing a total of 12 harbingers, and at top of that you have again the same mask with a tear, scheming and pulling the threads, like Pierro do. What i'm trying to say here is...where is the icon for the 10th Harbinger, where is it? This seems like a Irminsul plot.
the common theory is that the last symbol is for the 10th since pierro doesnt belong to the 11, it wouldnt make sense to put the director's symbol at that position

Using process of elimination and not counting Pierro as one of the 11 Harbingers mainly because he is the *Director* of Fatui Harbinger (and also his cons believed by many to be the laughing mask ontop of the Harbinger Constellation's wheel), the crying mask is the only one that is vacant and unsure.

@@Kynokefalos hardly, since we already knew that Diluc's Cons is an Owl, and also Crying mask does not suit our beloved dark knight since if we look at the pyro vision holder, the way they obtained their vision is through their burning passion which in Diluc's case would be "Truthseeking" cuz he wants to know why his father was associated with Fatui and why they killed his father.
I dont believe Diluc's dad is the 10th Harbinger. The longer the game goes on, the less sense it makes. Some people are now saying the seat is being saved for the Traveler. Considering (s)he have been protected by plot armor and the Tsarista has seemingly shown zero interest in the Traveler, it would be a cool twist, but I doubt it's true. Hopefully HoYo doesn't forget about it, so we can clear this up once and for all.
That puts the rankings even more into question because traveler packs up anyone below pulcinella

Honestly, that's what makes the 10th so interesting: they'd had to have been recruited before Tartaglia and after Pantalone, meaning that something happened to them before The Traveler's arrival.
It also means that they were a brief Harbinger, as Arlecchino does not know them, and Scaramouche never interacted or remembered them.

Idk bout you but Pierro being more 500 years old and is the Director of Fatui Harbinger. If we go by the oldest to youngest Theory then it would not make sense for Columbina to be the Third (if you believe that she is a Seele), or Rosalina being the 8th despite her still alive during catalysm.

Nah i dont think the change of tone that you claimed to be bad is *bad* or out of place becuz hell Fatui's main strength is their politics (this fact are known throughout Teyvat) and Mondstadt tackling the politics narative is not something new e.g Slavery, Corruption, Discrimination, Rebellion, ect. If anything Political Narrative is still on brand with Sneznhaya and Mondstadt.

My theory was that Grand Master Varka is 10th harbinger. Just because I thought it'd be cool narratively.
Although lately I've been playing around with the idea that it's actually Il Capitano. There's so much setup for him being the 1st harbinger without confirmation that makes me consider the possibility of him being a red herring.

I think this is the most likely option so far since there is no other clue to a 10th harbinger. However, I think that the seat has been occupied already... by Diluc. I believe that the 10th seat is supposed to be a covert agent so whoever it is, it might not be known to the rest of the harbingers bar the top 3 (or maybe just Pierro). And what I like about the idea of Diluc being this secret harbinger is that it could be revealed at the same time Kaeya has to make his prophesized crucial decision.
Now a funny idea with no fundaments. What if Adelinde is the 10th harbinger and hence why all those weird things about her. Keeping that train of thought, another idea that could work for Adelinde's funny happenings could be that she's taking care of a secretly alive Crepus who might or might not had been zombified or experimented by Dottore.

Now that actually make sense why Kaeya was left on the Dawn Winery, i mean who does that? And Kaeya's father is the Founder (At least of the Founder) so why would he left his son to some random rich family that only do business wine, unless the heads of the family is important

My theory is that the reason why the 10th Harbinger is missing is because he went AWOL when he met and fell in love to one of the Hexenzirkel and they went hiding to Mondstadt
Now we know why Dottore killed Diluc's father in the Manga, because when you went AWOL, the Fatui won't let you slip away because who knows what intel about the Harbinger's plan that Diluc's father might give to Varka, maybe because that is one of the reason why he want to become a Knight of the Favonius, so he can get close to Varka and reveal the Fatui's plan but failed because the Knights are still suspicious of him, thinking he want to get inside the Knights as a spy for Fatui
With that Plan thrown in the window, he want Diluc, his son to become a Knight so that way, through Diluc, he and Varka can exchange intelligence, but all of that was too late because Dottore was sent to Mondstadt to assassinate him
Could it be possible that dainsleif is the 10th seat? Since he's said to have betrayed the royal family of khaenriah and abandoned it's people and the reason none of the harbingers talk about him is only pierro knows him and dain is always wandering the world. Just my own crackpot theory😊

I had a different idea about Brighella as the older Brother of Arlecchino, and out of all the mask is the most cunning. Crepus just doesn't fit right with me even if did own a Tavern.
I believe Brighella to be disguised as Capitano because if Capitano is indeed the Bloodstained Knight wouldn't he have talked more about Rosalyne's death, but all he said was "What a pity" So I believe that Capitano isn't back from his expedition in Mika's letter where Capitano is described with Eerily Dark Blue Eyes, which resembles every Khaenri'ahn and Brighella is filling in for him for morale purposes.
Or Capitano isn't the Bloodstained Knight but the Bloodsoaked Berserker from Khaenri'ah who was born in Natlan, in Mare Jivari.
Losing his Natlantian Mother caused him to go Berserk killing every Monster, Human, and even challenging the Gods. His delusion being becoming the Strongest being in Teyvat surpassing that of the Gods. Even if his face is unrecognizable after it all his Indomitable Rage will not be quelled, and he is going back to Natlan to finished what he started to fight the being that split his mask into two.
Then there's the Innamorati the Lovers.
Who I believe to be the Tsaritsa and the Tsar. The Innamorati are the Main Characters who don't wear any mask, and their outfits are always up to date.

@@ripnoya All true things. But who haven't disprove the theory. The names of the harbingers are a reference to character archetypes. Although they are not exactly one to one, Scaramouch, Dottore, and Signora share elements from their source material. Capitano in the source material is a fraud or isn't exactly who claims to be. This can be adapted several ways.
Kaeya leaves Mondstat often. Long distance teleportation exists in Teyvat and is used by Khaenrians. Kaeya introduces himself as a captain, and makes up a tall tale that his father was a pirate and is very deceptive. Kaeya isn't from Mondstat and his first instinct after seeing the traveler fight off Dvalin was to detain and question the traveler. Kaeya first instinct is to keep up appearances and the lie (reference in his story) this is almost the direct archetype of Capitano.
Varka has been away from Mondstat for in game years do you really believe a statement read by Mika is enough to declare oh he can't be Capitano despite every description of Capitano matching Grand Master Varka. Eula noted that Varka held back during sparing (did he really?). Varka left Mondstat with all the Calvary knights right before Abyss Order and Signora showed up in Mondstat. This plays into the fraudulent aspect of the Capitano character. All information we have on Capitano and Varka are second hand and vague.
It's not conclusive but it is also a distinct possibility which is why it is a theory. I believe we haven't seen his face because we will like meet Varka in Natlan and it would be a give away if we know that Varka or Kaeya is Capitano from the get go.
@@degraves2003 gonna keep reading the rest but just quick 2 points: 1 the abyss order and the traveler can use long distance teleportation, not exactly khaenriahns because yes, the abyss order is full of people that were from khaenri'ah, but the ability comes from the abyss, even Dainsleif doesn't know how to use their portals to his advantage. 2 We saw a fully grown Capitano in Arlecchino's animated short, when she was about 19, Kaeya should be around the same age if not a little younger.
Of course a statement from Mika is proof enough that they're two different people, because Mika was literally part of Varka's squad and met him as a completely separated individual, he says so in one of his voice lines. Also Varka being Capitano would mean that he'd have to leave the knights every time he was called back to snezhnaya while they were traveling, wouldn't that just be extremely weird to them?
@@ripnoya The two people thing can be faked. That is not a difficult illusion. Varka heading off to Snezhnaya isn't so much a stretch as he is never in Mondstat. I find it more weird that he is never in Mondstat and that he took all the calvary knights with him. I mean for every point you raised there are about 2 more points that cast doubt on him. Rosaria, who is more perceptive, calls him a braggard and states he doesn't care about others (a contradiction to everyone else). Childe references his feats as fabled. This indicates that Varka may be an older gentlemen. Even Mika's About IV voice line hints at him being gaslit.
To be clear, I am not dismissing your points as invalid. Varka is very suspicious if you try to connect all the dots. I acknowledge that it isn't conclusive but the only thing we know about Varka is that he surrounds himself with strong and capable people. That is why it is a theory.
