Absolute Tinfoil Hat idea that just came to mind. I wonder if the Scaramouche’s vacant seat tipped the Cryo Archon and Harbingers to the fact there was an Irminsul change? And that is a partial reason to why the seating system exists? Not sure about the second part. But the first part seems plausible.
This is incredibly interesting. How I had thought about it until now was, that since even in Arlecchino's case, the rank and position, as well as the legacy of this title can get passed on, maybe there had already been someone else who had the scaramouche title or someone of another title who had his rank, and has perished or moved on since. And because the ranks and titles come with a legacy, there just hasn't been anyone who could live up to this legacy or strength who could therefore fill the empty spot.

Each of the Harbingers have a different role for what they do for the Fatui and this role is also reflected in the Comedia name, which has been bestowed upon them by the Tsaritsa, right? Now I’m wondering if, like you’re saying, that the Cryo Archon and Pierro are look for specific kinds of people to fit specific characters/archetypes to help realize their plan? So maybe Signora and Scara’s seats haven’t been replaced because they don’t have the right “actors” to fill those roles? Arlecchino was able to replace Crucabena in the role of Knave because the Tsaritsa and *director* Pierro thought she’d be a good fit. Like recasting an actor.

Can I just say? The harbringers have to be my favourite part of Genshin Impact, and they are very well put together(for the most part). It feels like we know a lot about them, and yet like we are just scratching the surface at the same time.
Just so you know, Arlecchino’s delusion is pyro (look at her back in her phase 2 form) so she has her cursed bloodline, her pyro vision, and her pyro delusion
@@stathisconstantinou a thing that fatui bosses that have both visions and delusions do is have them overlap with each other, so if you look at Childe in each phase, phase one is vision on his belt, phase two is his delusion on the same spot, Arlecchino does the same thing, her vision is on her back, and in phase two her delusion is in its place

Pretty sure #6 being emptied for "hundreds of years" after Wanderer's Archon Quest is just the world trying to compensate for his erasure. I'm sure it's just a "no one thinks about it" thing in lore until now where it can be reassigned with no impact on irminsul's history.
We can't know that for sure. In my opinion, its possible that the ranking system is also a defense against Irminsul deletion. If a Harbinger would get deleted from its memory, its place would become absent, and even though everyone forgot them, they still know it happened. This is backed up by the fact that the same exact thing happened to Scaramouche, and in the current timeline the 6th place was empty for centuries. Pierro and the high ranks are probably aware of what happened, even if they don't know who it was they lost

Its just headcanon based on his skin (a Fatui "Harbinger like" uniform, that does not have a vision, but stills have elemental Power - inferring that he is using the delusion we know he has) + his C5: Phoenix, Harbinger of Dawn, written as a Fatui Harbinger title + the Lore fact that he stalked fatui ranks to spy them, after his father death (it would be very easy if he was posing as his father and his father were a Harbinger, until the other Harbingers find out and almost kill him).) Also, almost sure the 10th Harbinger were earesed from Irminsul, but it could be only the fatui part of Crepus' History. We dont know. But the game have always giving us clues about everything. This could be donne to conceal the truth from Diluc and the Knights of Favonius/Mondstadt/Anemo Archon. But, is there another clue for the 10th Fatui? I rly want to know.

@@tamas9554 We do have a lot of info tying him to the fatui. He had a delusion and knew how to use it well. He was specifically targeted and killed by a mechanical bird made by the fatui to attract a drake to his location. Kaeya was dropped off close to his home and adopted by him, most likely not by accident. Perhaps he turned traitor and that's why he was targeted and killed?
The ranking system always baffled me, I wish Hoyo would give us a clear idea on how it worked because it definitely seems to he based both on physical strength and political strength but HEAVILY leaning to strength above all. - Its no question that Capitano is number one, even before his rank got confirmed. He’s regarded as one of the strongest in Teyvat (his physical strength) but he’s also in charge of Snezhnaya’s military, which in the real world is absolutely the first priority for ANY nation’s main government. - then you have ones that I found strange, mainly the fact that ECONOMICS, the second most important field to a government is ranked 9, underneath intelligence gathering and surveillance at 4th and foreign delegations at 8th. (Also whatever Sandrone does with mechanics??? It’s too early to say anything for her and Bina) Of course, in this situation I’d have to guess that Arlecchino’s immense power outweighs her political importance than Pantalone’s physical strength. - Even more to this case is Scaramouche’s whole deal. He’s arguably less important for a ‘government nation’ than he is to the Fatui in specific and his ability to withstand harsh treatment for better Abyss exploration/Dottore’s experiments. - But then you have Pantalone and Childe. Childe’s political strength is pretty weak, which is the only reason why I could think Pantalone is ranked above him. As of now and what we know of Pantalone, it doesn’t seem like he possesses any other worldly powers- his intelligence in his field is what’s keeping him upright, so in that regard Childe SHOULD be above Pantalone, but isn’t due to Pantalone’s bigger political influence, one of the only cases that outmatch physical strength.
Well honestly it's probably just simpler than we think. Think back to arlecchinos animed video, after she kill crucabena she was brought to snezhnya for her crimes, it was only after the TSARITSA pardoned her and GAVE her the title of The Knave. So in short... the Tsarita is the one that makes a person a harbinger
When you mentioned the possibility of Scaramouche having the delusion thingy in him I was reminded of a thought I had that it would be cool if Pantalone had some sort of robotic eye or one of his eyes is a delusion orb since so far we've only seen him with eyes closed and he works with Dottore who could've given him the super eye
If you think about it, we are yet to see the eyes of multiple harbringers: Collumbina, Pantalone, Sandrone (I think 🤔), Capitano, And the ENTIRE LOOKS OF THE number 10 (unless we already met them without knowing).

But the fact we haven't seen the other are probably to hide where they come from ( like with the "X" shape for the crimson dynasty and "primo" shape for the eclispe dynasty ). I love the idea of the 10th being like a spy oraganisation thing like Soifon in Bleach and the missing harbinger ( 10th ) being a character we meet without knowing their a harbinger.
The only character we're missing from the Commedia dell'arte itself is Innamorati. The direct translation of the word from Italian to English is lovers, so I wonder if they/they're ever going to be a part of the game
Not the only character, but certainly some of the more popular characters from Commedia dell’arte, and their absence is odd. Brighella is also missing, and a few more ones whose names I’m blanking on.
I do not believe that Crucabena was rank 4. Because while crucabena was part of the harbingers, all the other harbingers had already been gathered(or pantalone might have joined after her as well, either way ll the other harbingers are over 500 years old IF the tory about Marionette being Mary Ann's doll created by Alain guillotine(who himself put his consciousness in the golem that serves her) are true).. with the exception of Childe. This would put Crucabena above the likes of Signora and Scaramouche..which i kind of don't see happening. Harbingers are ranked by a lot of means, while strength is an important factor, their "role" is also important. Pantalone would not have been a harbinger at all if they only considered combat capabilities..let alone "9th" seat. Like he is mentioned to be a smart economist, not a combatant, and yet he was ranked 9th? Doesnt make sense to me again. So i think characters like Arlecchino, Pulcinella, Dottore, Scaramouche, Pantalone and maybe even Marionette enjoy the post for more than "combat contributions". Dottore is responsible for the scientific advancement of Schneznaya(i am assuming Marionette may also be contributing in creation of weapons and stuff), Scara was capable of diving into abyss, remain there, not die easily from experiments and dottore even figured out how to make segments by experimenting on him, he was the ultimate test subject, Arlecchino's organization is the intelligence hub of the Fatui and she also provides them with elite recruits, this feat alone would qualify the leader of HoH to be a harbinger, as you have your people in each faction of fatui and you control what info you feed them, this is sooooo much power. Pulcinella is the mayor and governs the city while Pantalone contributed by the never ending cashflow. Ok back to crucabena, a kid arlecchino, who was just learning to control her powers, was able to defeat Crucabena..the current Knave is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH stronger than that. Current arlecchino has much more control on her flames and is much stronger than whatever she was when she defeated Crucabena. I sincerely do not believe that previous knave was strong enough to be rank 4. I believe Peruere became harbinger by killing Crucabena, but her rank was much lower. Since we know that there is one spot in the fatuii roster that is empty, aka the 10th spot. What if...Crucabena was the 10th. Fatui do not replace harbingers. 4th was always vacant, almost like prophesied to be held by Peruere, so it was reserved for her. Signora died, everyone knew about it, childe still stayed the 11th. Scaramouche erased himself and yet the rankings did not change, his spot just became vacant. What if it was the same for crucabena, who is the only known harbinger to have died..other than the main cast that we have already met. And 10th is a vacant spot. Maybe crucabena died and fatui left this spot empty like they later did for Rosalynea nd Scaramouche(though this also means that there is someone siding with the Fatui, someone that is capable of seeing future, immune to irminsul erasure and is also capable of sensing what exactly changed. because there is no reason why scara's erasure changed nothing in rankings, they must have known about scara even after irminsul was changed, and hence they left it vacant)
Arlecchino has a Delusion, though, in her Boss form. I would say Sandrone would fit more squarely under science, Dottore pursues every kind of knowledge. We know the Harbingers are ranked by strength. I would say Scaramouche was taken in by Pierro, not Dottore, though technically Dottore does discover him in Tatarasuna. Protege is definitely NOT the correct term, not even project tbh, considering how nonchalant Dottore was about the failed 'artifical god' experiment that only Azar saw as meaningful. I believe that was a prototype for the true artificial god Dottore is working on, and Scaramouche just happened to be the necessary specimen to make use of a Gnosis, sort of like a port where you could connect a cable and then charge your phone. If he could recreate something similar but without Scaramouche's personal defects/weaknesses, perhaps something that could hold multiple Gnoses, well. . . *that* would be a god. Scaramouche did not achieve godhood, since we know that Nahida et al got to the Akademiya facility before they could use the canned divine knowledge they'd gathered from the mad scholars on him. But perhaps that data could be useful in the future, as we don't know what happened to those capsules (presumably, Dottore had the good sense to either make copies or take them directly with him.) In any case, Scaramouche was never meant to be a true Harbinger, and that much is obvious since he lacked any sort of conviction. His anger was more at Ei than anyone else, now transferred to Dottore, but not a gripe against Celestia or the HP, nor a care about humanity, either. And I do think you need to care about humanity to be a Harbinger. That care doesn't always take the most ethical routes, but each active Harbinger we've met thus far cares about humanity in one way or another, whether it's Childe protecting something as simple as childhood dreams, or Dottore wishing to uplift humanity to be as gods and freeing them from Celestia's false order/the senseless limitations they impose on humans.
I imagine that when we go to Snezhnaya, the story is like the Need For Speed: Most Watned, wherein we actually get inducted into the Harbingers and try our best to move up the ladder to talk to Tsaritsa.
Thank you for making this video. Someone argued with me that the harbingers are ranked purely by physical strength when it clearly isn't. There is a literal banker who has a higher rank than Childe who has great combat prowess in comparison.
I agree that Childe is very powerful ( he's just too young and doesn't mastered is power entirely ) but it's too soon to assume that Pantalone or most of the unatroduced harbinger are weak, we don't know much about them so far like for Arlecchino until recently and in the case of Pants we haven't seen his eyes or anything ( maybe he has vishaps eyes, or some thing like Arlecchino, Pierro, or Baizhu specifics eyes ) so we have to wait and see if there anything behind.

However, after seeing all of Childe's feats it's hard for me to believe that Regrator, Marionette, and Rooster in particular are physically stronger than Childe when their power comes from things that they specialize in like financial, governmental, and mechanical matters that are important to the Fatui.

I just wanted to point at those facts because I see a lot of people assuming that the other Harbingers are weak when we know little about them ( some didn't appear in game yet ) so for me it's possible that they have power, aside from the political powers, that surpass Childe's which make them stronger ( immobilization like Arle in the cutscene or whatever their cooking ) but Childe is in pure strengh stronger. I think crucabena was number 10, because if not then pierro could be number 10 which doesnt make sense for me for him to be barely stronger than childe, crucabena being number 10 and people not talking about it because respect for the dead is more plausible to me, it would make sense even why arlechinno was able to defeat her and ascend to a seat much above her at such a young age
It's also interesting to note that the number 10 is considered extremely lucky in Chinese culture, so I have no doubt that the number 10 was either deliberately left out as an Ace in the hole or left out to not blemish the luck that the number 10 represents
The traveler has been asked if they wanted to become part of the fatui at least 2 times that I vaguely remember so yes if he wanted to they could have taken signoras spot. So far he easily has the most connections and them being very positive to the biggest figures of 5 nations so that by itself should grant him a high position within the harbingers
Ultimately the fatui or more likely the tsaritsa herself is collecting the gnosis’ for some kind of defiance against celestia, the story will likely end with us putting our differences aside with the fatui and targeting our true enemy, so us taking signora’s spot even as an honorary harbinger is very likely
PS i feel lyney will become harbinger, but a lower ranked. Arlecchino ranks so high because of the importance of HoH and her own strength. Just delusion is not enough to justify Lyney filling the gap that Arlecchino will leave behind. But being the head of HoH makes him eligible for the post of Harbinger. He ll probably be the lower ranked one though.

Considering the opinion Tartaglia and Wanderer have of the Knave, and that fortune slip quest in Inazuma that portray them as someone uncaring that is not to be trusted and will betray if the opportunity arises... So, perhaps something might've happen between Signora's defeat and the Winter Night's Lazzo that changed events without anyone noticing. personallly.... -Lumine/Aether has beat the 11th Harbinger, Childe. -Lumine/Aether has beat the 8th Harbinger, La Signora. -Lumine/Aether successfully fought the Raiden Shogun several times and won. -Lumine/Aether has resolved crisis in the following nations, Mondstat, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru. -Lumine/Aether has saved Sumeru from The Withering. -Lumine/Aether has fought god-like beings and powerful elemental beasts and dragons. -Lumine/Aether may or may not be a lower-ranking god in of themselves. (We don't quite know if we are gods, we just know we are descenders with god-like powers.) -Lumine/Aether have the power to easily combat and defeat The Abyss. -Lumine/Aether has defeated a mechanical/artificial god, albeit with help. -Lumine/Aether have had several Fatui members attempt to fake being non-Fatui to gain friendly relations, clearly the Fatui are interested in friendly relations with us, possibly more. -Lumine/Aether has complete, and the absolute best control over elemental powers. Even to being able to switch between them mid-combat. -Lumine/Aether are capable of replicating the Archon's abilities. (Or maybe it's the dragon sovereign's abilities we are copying...? we dunno.) -Lumine/Aether, as a descender, has the potential to alter Teyvat, even to re-designing it from scratch. I'm pretty sure that we have a over-perfect record for being someone the Fatui Harbinger's would recruit.
oh yeah and they have had confrontation with the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles... which is literally someone the Fatui would have MASSIVE interest in finding. And, if we continue our journey, we will find the sustainer again, eventually that is. Soooo the fatui would heavily benefit from us :3
Canonically, Traveler beat the #6 in a fight and lost to #4, so I guess that puts our strength ranking at #6, at least! I'm extremely curious about Capitano and his background. A man of his level HAS to be a previously established character in the lore, some people speculate he's the Bloodstained Knight. Homie could probably solo Celestia

Isn’t it quite a coincidence that the harbinger we met (so far) are by order either 2 seat lower or higher of each other? For example: Tartaglia - 11th Harbinger -(assuming we dont have a 10th one or the seat is empty) La Signora - 8th Harbinger (2 seats higher than childe) Scaramouche (post-erase) - 6th Harbinger (again, 2 seats higher than Signora) Arlecchino - 4th Harbinger (2 seats higher) and finally, Dottore - 2nd Harbinger coincidence? i think not
While raiden was te one to finish her off, we did beat la Signora directly in combat meaning we sorta do have the right to claim the title of 8th harbinger by this logic. Didn’t think about it before but I kinda want to see that happen now, is becoming a harbinger.
The Harbinger numbering system just appears to be hopelessly broken in light of Arlecchino's story quest. None of the old issues were addressed and she added a bunch of new ones which appear to not be explainable by any means.
Her story quest might have told us something very important.... Childe is an unreliable narrator because Pulcinella is feeding him info to manipulate him. As the quote that the numbering system is based on strength came from him, I'm not sure we should be taking it at face value in any capacity anymore.

heres a theory... number 10 is lumine (abyss twin) the fatui DID have a ton of campaigns and knowledge from the abyss... what if, what if all this time the abyssal twin was working for or with the fatui, and the whole "see the truth of hte world" is us just traveling long enough through the world to become "compatible" with the fatui as a whole, while steeling ourself to wield the elements of tevyat propperly where the stories epilogue becomes a sort of completed circle back of the abyss/fatui/traveler/archons doing their revolutionary thing against celestia it would also sort of fit with the current imansul fckery with lumine and the fatui sort of trying to keep her a secret from celestia maybe even to the point that they use lumine to forge the "real" delusions, because she was also a decender (you know, considering the whole gnosis lore bomb with descenders)
I think the traveller being offered a harbinger position is possible but I disagree with the idea of it being the 10th spot mostly because that’s just rather insulting to their reputation and actions. What the traveller has already done should put them fairly high on the rankings, but by the time we reach the fatui the traveler very well could be almost fully returned to their true power ranking 10 out of 11 or rather 12 if you want to include every role feels wrong for a character that was capable of holding their own against the unknown god for longer than you’d expect any of the current characters to be capable. I’m still hoping that the 10th harbinger is a traitor to the traveller of sorts and the reason Wanderer/Scara never learned of them but I’m willing to admit that’s probably unlikely now given that we’re only one nation away and so far no one we have met would really have much to reveal besides maybe Keaya.
one issue with me about the numbering is.. how would they know which rank to assign to when not all the harbingers are recruited...? obviously they did not recruit all 11 harbingers at the same time.. so initially there would be only a handful... like when arlecchino became harbinger (other than the director and the deceased crucabena) there seems to be only scaramouche.. capitano and signora... so it would not make sense for her to be ranked 8th when there were less than 8 harbingers... or did their number change over time as more harbingers are recruited and take higher positions thus pushing some of them down...? or are the numbers only assigned after all 11 harbingers are recruited...?

at 1:54, i’m pretty sure the “heart” mentioned in HoOD is the electro gnosis itself, and not scaramouche’s Delusion, since we know the heart is quite literally a metaphor for the gnosis, at least in that artifact description. even its name originally means “heart of god”.
i do agree with the idea the 10th harbinger erased themself from irminsul like scaramouche did. if they just abandon their position and deserted, other harbingers would at least have a bit of info.
So basically if I beat you or have bigger racks than you, even I could become a harbinger and have bragging rights. I also feel like if there is an unoccupied seat you should rank up cz i would be pissed if a new recruit outranks me and talk down on me
I don't agree that lyney could be as powerful as arlecchino, since a big factor for her strength is her innate power. At best I could see him as a tartaglia minus the foul legacy.

Not a hot take, but i'm glad that the playable Arlechino character is a decent in character. It actually wouldn't be logical for Traveler to befriends straight villains because they themselves are heroic type. I guess the playable dottore will be somewhat a decent kind to if therw will ever be. Nowadays there is too many morally grey characters, and anti heroes. Genshin does not need to follow the trend and actually with the condition the world is in. We need some justice uphelding righteous and self sacrificing characters
There's nothing suggesting Harbingers even come close to Archons. Nahida's line doesn't imply she is talking about Archons either, there are a lot of gods in Genshin. Furthermore, we see how the Traveler needed the power of 99 Visions to overpower Ei, who is a fully powered Archon. Venti explained how Nahida and him are currently vastly weaker than they'd otherwise be, because an inactive Archon loses their powers temporarily. We also have to consider some Archons just fight better, like how Ei is better combatant than Makoto was. In the Arlecchino stories, its also explained how she has 3 different power sources, her fire from the crimson moon, and both a Pyro Vision and Delusion. They probably get a Delusion just to stack power. The strength of their unique abilities also depends on experience, for example Childe is very young, therefore he's much weaker than he otherwise would be. He'd be probably one of the strongest if he matched the age of the other Harbingers. I'd be sincerely surprised if even a powerhouse like Capitano could match someone like Morax or Ei, we just have no proof Harbingers are *that* strong unfortunately :/
I think it's more so generalization. "They have powers rivalling gods" is broad because Genshin gods comes in different levels of scaling especially the archons like Ei and Zhongli who won their seats through bloodshed (Ei winning for makoto) Vs Venti and Ruka(Nahida) where they didn't directly fight for their spots. (Venti was a mortal revolution) So it's hard to o say. We can atleast assume by the way Nahida states it and her hesitantly to fight dottore, that the powers they have are more on the upper echelons of gods. Frankly we don't know until it happens.
@@skypirate2181 Exactly, although we have proof that the Archons are the most powerful among these gods. Power can come in many forms, but the Archons overall should still be above the others. Barbatos for example was just a little wind spirit, nowhere near Boreas, yet he became extremely powerful upon his ascension, he could even terraform Mondstadt. So in that regard, he could have become stronger than Boreas. He also fought against Durin, though we know nothing about the fight. I think if any Archon practices combat, they will grow because of the experience. Ei maybe wouldn't have died in Khaenri'ah if they swapped places with Makoto. I don't get one thing how is scaramouche in arlechinno music video? I mean if he wasn't even a harbinger in the first place then arlechinno shouldn't have/had any memories of him. Is it just intentionally placed by mihoyo or that is actually a mistake or there is something else?
It can be hard to see, but there's a moment in one of the cutscenes of her Story Quest where her Pyro Vision is replaced with a Pyro Delusion. The only difference is the Fatui emblem rather than the Pyro symbol, but it's there.

This is incredibly interesting. How I had thought about it until now was, that since even in Arlecchino's case, the rank and position, as well as the legacy of this title can get passed on, maybe there had already been someone else who had the scaramouche title or someone of another title who had his rank, and has perished or moved on since. And because the ranks and titles come with a legacy, there just hasn't been anyone who could live up to this legacy or strength who could therefore fill the empty spot.

We can't know that for sure. In my opinion, its possible that the ranking system is also a defense against Irminsul deletion. If a Harbinger would get deleted from its memory, its place would become absent, and even though everyone forgot them, they still know it happened.
This is backed up by the fact that the same exact thing happened to Scaramouche, and in the current timeline the 6th place was empty for centuries. Pierro and the high ranks are probably aware of what happened, even if they don't know who it was they lost

Also, almost sure the 10th Harbinger were earesed from Irminsul, but it could be only the fatui part of Crepus' History. We dont know. But the game have always giving us clues about everything. This could be donne to conceal the truth from Diluc and the Knights of Favonius/Mondstadt/Anemo Archon.

He was specifically targeted and killed by a mechanical bird made by the fatui to attract a drake to his location. Kaeya was dropped off close to his home and adopted by him, most likely not by accident. Perhaps he turned traitor and that's why he was targeted and killed?

The ranking system always baffled me, I wish Hoyo would give us a clear idea on how it worked because it definitely seems to he based both on physical strength and political strength but HEAVILY leaning to strength above all.
- Its no question that Capitano is number one, even before his rank got confirmed. He’s regarded as one of the strongest in Teyvat (his physical strength) but he’s also in charge of Snezhnaya’s military, which in the real world is absolutely the first priority for ANY nation’s main government.
- then you have ones that I found strange, mainly the fact that ECONOMICS, the second most important field to a government is ranked 9, underneath intelligence gathering and surveillance at 4th and foreign delegations at 8th. (Also whatever Sandrone does with mechanics??? It’s too early to say anything for her and Bina) Of course, in this situation I’d have to guess that Arlecchino’s immense power outweighs her political importance than Pantalone’s physical strength.
- Even more to this case is Scaramouche’s whole deal. He’s arguably less important for a ‘government nation’ than he is to the Fatui in specific and his ability to withstand harsh treatment for better Abyss exploration/Dottore’s experiments.
- But then you have Pantalone and Childe. Childe’s political strength is pretty weak, which is the only reason why I could think Pantalone is ranked above him. As of now and what we know of Pantalone, it doesn’t seem like he possesses any other worldly powers- his intelligence in his field is what’s keeping him upright, so in that regard Childe SHOULD be above Pantalone, but isn’t due to Pantalone’s bigger political influence, one of the only cases that outmatch physical strength.
Well honestly it's probably just simpler than we think. Think back to arlecchinos animed video, after she kill crucabena she was brought to snezhnya for her crimes, it was only after the TSARITSA pardoned her and GAVE her the title of The Knave. So in short... the Tsarita is the one that makes a person a harbinger

When you mentioned the possibility of Scaramouche having the delusion thingy in him I was reminded of a thought I had that it would be cool if Pantalone had some sort of robotic eye or one of his eyes is a delusion orb since so far we've only seen him with eyes closed and he works with Dottore who could've given him the super eye

But the fact we haven't seen the other are probably to hide where they come from ( like with the "X" shape for the crimson dynasty and "primo" shape for the eclispe dynasty ). I love the idea of the 10th being like a spy oraganisation thing like Soifon in Bleach and the missing harbinger ( 10th ) being a character we meet without knowing their a harbinger.

Not the only character, but certainly some of the more popular characters from Commedia dell’arte, and their absence is odd. Brighella is also missing, and a few more ones whose names I’m blanking on.
I do not believe that Crucabena was rank 4. Because while crucabena was part of the harbingers, all the other harbingers had already been gathered(or pantalone might have joined after her as well, either way ll the other harbingers are over 500 years old IF the tory about Marionette being Mary Ann's doll created by Alain guillotine(who himself put his consciousness in the golem that serves her) are true).. with the exception of Childe. This would put Crucabena above the likes of Signora and Scaramouche..which i kind of don't see happening. Harbingers are ranked by a lot of means, while strength is an important factor, their "role" is also important. Pantalone would not have been a harbinger at all if they only considered combat capabilities..let alone "9th" seat. Like he is mentioned to be a smart economist, not a combatant, and yet he was ranked 9th? Doesnt make sense to me again. So i think characters like Arlecchino, Pulcinella, Dottore, Scaramouche, Pantalone and maybe even Marionette enjoy the post for more than "combat contributions". Dottore is responsible for the scientific advancement of Schneznaya(i am assuming Marionette may also be contributing in creation of weapons and stuff), Scara was capable of diving into abyss, remain there, not die easily from experiments and dottore even figured out how to make segments by experimenting on him, he was the ultimate test subject, Arlecchino's organization is the intelligence hub of the Fatui and she also provides them with elite recruits, this feat alone would qualify the leader of HoH to be a harbinger, as you have your people in each faction of fatui and you control what info you feed them, this is sooooo much power. Pulcinella is the mayor and governs the city while Pantalone contributed by the never ending cashflow.
Ok back to crucabena, a kid arlecchino, who was just learning to control her powers, was able to defeat Crucabena..the current Knave is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH stronger than that. Current arlecchino has much more control on her flames and is much stronger than whatever she was when she defeated Crucabena. I sincerely do not believe that previous knave was strong enough to be rank 4. I believe Peruere became harbinger by killing Crucabena, but her rank was much lower. Since we know that there is one spot in the fatuii roster that is empty, aka the 10th spot. What if...Crucabena was the 10th. Fatui do not replace harbingers. 4th was always vacant, almost like prophesied to be held by Peruere, so it was reserved for her. Signora died, everyone knew about it, childe still stayed the 11th. Scaramouche erased himself and yet the rankings did not change, his spot just became vacant. What if it was the same for crucabena, who is the only known harbinger to have died..other than the main cast that we have already met. And 10th is a vacant spot. Maybe crucabena died and fatui left this spot empty like they later did for Rosalynea nd Scaramouche(though this also means that there is someone siding with the Fatui, someone that is capable of seeing future, immune to irminsul erasure and is also capable of sensing what exactly changed. because there is no reason why scara's erasure changed nothing in rankings, they must have known about scara even after irminsul was changed, and hence they left it vacant)

I would say Sandrone would fit more squarely under science, Dottore pursues every kind of knowledge. We know the Harbingers are ranked by strength.
I would say Scaramouche was taken in by Pierro, not Dottore, though technically Dottore does discover him in Tatarasuna. Protege is definitely NOT the correct term, not even project tbh, considering how nonchalant Dottore was about the failed 'artifical god' experiment that only Azar saw as meaningful. I believe that was a prototype for the true artificial god Dottore is working on, and Scaramouche just happened to be the necessary specimen to make use of a Gnosis, sort of like a port where you could connect a cable and then charge your phone.
If he could recreate something similar but without Scaramouche's personal defects/weaknesses, perhaps something that could hold multiple Gnoses, well. . . *that* would be a god. Scaramouche did not achieve godhood, since we know that Nahida et al got to the Akademiya facility before they could use the canned divine knowledge they'd gathered from the mad scholars on him. But perhaps that data could be useful in the future, as we don't know what happened to those capsules (presumably, Dottore had the good sense to either make copies or take them directly with him.)
In any case, Scaramouche was never meant to be a true Harbinger, and that much is obvious since he lacked any sort of conviction. His anger was more at Ei than anyone else, now transferred to Dottore, but not a gripe against Celestia or the HP, nor a care about humanity, either.
And I do think you need to care about humanity to be a Harbinger. That care doesn't always take the most ethical routes, but each active Harbinger we've met thus far cares about humanity in one way or another, whether it's Childe protecting something as simple as childhood dreams, or Dottore wishing to uplift humanity to be as gods and freeing them from Celestia's false order/the senseless limitations they impose on humans.
I imagine that when we go to Snezhnaya, the story is like the Need For Speed: Most Watned, wherein we actually get inducted into the Harbingers and try our best to move up the ladder to talk to Tsaritsa.

Thank you for making this video. Someone argued with me that the harbingers are ranked purely by physical strength when it clearly isn't. There is a literal banker who has a higher rank than Childe who has great combat prowess in comparison.
No one can convince me (until we see it) that old man rooster has stronger combat capabilities over childe and signora
I agree that Childe is very powerful ( he's just too young and doesn't mastered is power entirely ) but it's too soon to assume that Pantalone or most of the unatroduced harbinger are weak, we don't know much about them so far like for Arlecchino until recently and in the case of Pants we haven't seen his eyes or anything ( maybe he has vishaps eyes, or some thing like Arlecchino, Pierro, or Baizhu specifics eyes ) so we have to wait and see if there anything behind.

I can agree that it's too soon to assume that the other harbingers are weaker than Childe. However, after seeing all of Childe's feats it's hard for me to believe that Regrator, Marionette, and Rooster in particular are physically stronger than Childe when their power comes from things that they specialize in like financial, governmental, and mechanical matters that are important to the Fatui.

I just wanted to point at those facts because I see a lot of people assuming that the other Harbingers are weak when we know little about them ( some didn't appear in game yet ) so for me it's possible that they have power, aside from the political powers, that surpass Childe's which make them stronger ( immobilization like Arle in the cutscene or whatever their cooking ) but Childe is in pure strengh stronger. I think crucabena was number 10, because if not then pierro could be number 10 which doesnt make sense for me for him to be barely stronger than childe, crucabena being number 10 and people not talking about it because respect for the dead is more plausible to me, it would make sense even why arlechinno was able to defeat her and ascend to a seat much above her at such a young age
It's also interesting to note that the number 10 is considered extremely lucky in Chinese culture, so I have no doubt that the number 10 was either deliberately left out as an Ace in the hole or left out to not blemish the luck that the number 10 represents

The traveler has been asked if they wanted to become part of the fatui at least 2 times that I vaguely remember so yes if he wanted to they could have taken signoras spot. So far he easily has the most connections and them being very positive to the biggest figures of 5 nations so that by itself should grant him a high position within the harbingers
Ultimately the fatui or more likely the tsaritsa herself is collecting the gnosis’ for some kind of defiance against celestia, the story will likely end with us putting our differences aside with the fatui and targeting our true enemy, so us taking signora’s spot even as an honorary harbinger is very likely

PS i feel lyney will become harbinger, but a lower ranked. Arlecchino ranks so high because of the importance of HoH and her own strength. Just delusion is not enough to justify Lyney filling the gap that Arlecchino will leave behind. But being the head of HoH makes him eligible for the post of Harbinger. He ll probably be the lower ranked one though.

-Lumine/Aether may or may not be a lower-ranking god in of themselves. (We don't quite know if we are gods, we just know we are descenders with god-like powers.)

-Lumine/Aether has defeated a mechanical/artificial god, albeit with help.
-Lumine/Aether have had several Fatui members attempt to fake being non-Fatui to gain friendly relations, clearly the Fatui are interested in friendly relations with us, possibly more.

The Harbinger numbering system just appears to be hopelessly broken in light of Arlecchino's story quest. None of the old issues were addressed and she added a bunch of new ones which appear to not be explainable by any means.
Her story quest might have told us something very important.... Childe is an unreliable narrator because Pulcinella is feeding him info to manipulate him. As the quote that the numbering system is based on strength came from him, I'm not sure we should be taking it at face value in any capacity anymore.
I think most people would reference Nahida's statement in providing evidence for the ranking being power based. When she says the top 3 are as powerful as gods?

Could it be that the 10th Harbinger is our Abyss sibling??? OR when we get to Snez, we actually could become the 10th harbinger?? Possibilities.
heres a theory...
number 10 is lumine (abyss twin)
the fatui DID have a ton of campaigns and knowledge from the abyss... what if, what if all this time the abyssal twin was working for or with the fatui, and the whole "see the truth of hte world" is us just traveling long enough through the world to become "compatible" with the fatui as a whole, while steeling ourself to wield the elements of tevyat propperly
where the stories epilogue becomes a sort of completed circle back of the abyss/fatui/traveler/archons doing their revolutionary thing against celestia
it would also sort of fit with the current imansul fckery with lumine and the fatui sort of trying to keep her a secret from celestia
maybe even to the point that they use lumine to forge the "real" delusions, because she was also a decender (you know, considering the whole gnosis lore bomb with descenders)
I think the traveller being offered a harbinger position is possible but I disagree with the idea of it being the 10th spot mostly because that’s just rather insulting to their reputation and actions. What the traveller has already done should put them fairly high on the rankings, but by the time we reach the fatui the traveler very well could be almost fully returned to their true power ranking 10 out of 11 or rather 12 if you want to include every role feels wrong for a character that was capable of holding their own against the unknown god for longer than you’d expect any of the current characters to be capable.
I’m still hoping that the 10th harbinger is a traitor to the traveller of sorts and the reason Wanderer/Scara never learned of them but I’m willing to admit that’s probably unlikely now given that we’re only one nation away and so far no one we have met would really have much to reveal besides maybe Keaya.
one issue with me about the numbering is.. how would they know which rank to assign to when not all the harbingers are recruited...? obviously they did not recruit all 11 harbingers at the same time.. so initially there would be only a handful... like when arlecchino became harbinger (other than the director and the deceased crucabena) there seems to be only scaramouche.. capitano and signora... so it would not make sense for her to be ranked 8th when there were less than 8 harbingers... or did their number change over time as more harbingers are recruited and take higher positions thus pushing some of them down...? or are the numbers only assigned after all 11 harbingers are recruited...?
Now I’m curious…..did they ever replace Scara’s number in the harbingers after the past was changed?? Since he was never a harbinger did they find someone else?
at 1:54, i’m pretty sure the “heart” mentioned in HoOD is the electro gnosis itself, and not scaramouche’s Delusion, since we know the heart is quite literally a metaphor for the gnosis, at least in that artifact description. even its name originally means “heart of god”.

Dottore didn’t “train” Scaramouche, they brokered a deal. As far as we know, Dottore wouldn’t have the personal knowledge to train such powers anyway.

I don't agree that lyney could be as powerful as arlecchino, since a big factor for her strength is her innate power. At best I could see him as a tartaglia minus the foul legacy.

I really think that the numbers and titles are locked to each other. The only thing refuting this idea of mine is peirros position… if he dies who else could be considered the “original harbinger”

Not a hot take, but i'm glad that the playable Arlechino character is a decent in character. It actually wouldn't be logical for Traveler to befriends straight villains because they themselves are heroic type. I guess the playable dottore will be somewhat a decent kind to if therw will ever be. Nowadays there is too many morally grey characters, and anti heroes. Genshin does not need to follow the trend and actually with the condition the world is in. We need some justice uphelding righteous and self sacrificing characters
Let's be honest, Lyney is not cool enough to be a Harbinger.
There's nothing suggesting Harbingers even come close to Archons. Nahida's line doesn't imply she is talking about Archons either, there are a lot of gods in Genshin. Furthermore, we see how the Traveler needed the power of 99 Visions to overpower Ei, who is a fully powered Archon. Venti explained how Nahida and him are currently vastly weaker than they'd otherwise be, because an inactive Archon loses their powers temporarily. We also have to consider some Archons just fight better, like how Ei is better combatant than Makoto was.
In the Arlecchino stories, its also explained how she has 3 different power sources, her fire from the crimson moon, and both a Pyro Vision and Delusion. They probably get a Delusion just to stack power. The strength of their unique abilities also depends on experience, for example Childe is very young, therefore he's much weaker than he otherwise would be. He'd be probably one of the strongest if he matched the age of the other Harbingers.
I'd be sincerely surprised if even a powerhouse like Capitano could match someone like Morax or Ei, we just have no proof Harbingers are *that* strong unfortunately :/
I think it's more so generalization. "They have powers rivalling gods" is broad because Genshin gods comes in different levels of scaling especially the archons like Ei and Zhongli who won their seats through bloodshed (Ei winning for makoto) Vs Venti and Ruka(Nahida) where they didn't directly fight for their spots. (Venti was a mortal revolution) So it's hard to o say.
We can atleast assume by the way Nahida states it and her hesitantly to fight dottore, that the powers they have are more on the upper echelons of gods. Frankly we don't know until it happens.
@@skypirate2181 Exactly, although we have proof that the Archons are the most powerful among these gods. Power can come in many forms, but the Archons overall should still be above the others.
Barbatos for example was just a little wind spirit, nowhere near Boreas, yet he became extremely powerful upon his ascension, he could even terraform Mondstadt. So in that regard, he could have become stronger than Boreas. He also fought against Durin, though we know nothing about the fight.
I think if any Archon practices combat, they will grow because of the experience.
Ei maybe wouldn't have died in Khaenri'ah if they swapped places with Makoto.
But their potential power is implied to be the highest on Teyvat besides some dragons (and of course forces outside of Teyvat). However they can lose that power if they go inactive and don't directly take part in ruling over their nation.
I'd be extremely surprised if a single Harbinger could defeat a normal Archon, based on what we know so far it could only work through trickery

I don't get one thing how is scaramouche in arlechinno music video? I mean if he wasn't even a harbinger in the first place then arlechinno shouldn't have/had any memories of him. Is it just intentionally placed by mihoyo or that is actually a mistake or there is something else?

Does Arlecchino carry a Delusion? I feel like she's the only one who doesn't seem to use one.
It can be hard to see, but there's a moment in one of the cutscenes of her Story Quest where her Pyro Vision is replaced with a Pyro Delusion. The only difference is the Fatui emblem rather than the Pyro symbol, but it's there.
When she transforms its on her back in place of the Vision I think.
