I‘ve been watching this channel for a while now and I’ve got to say you guys are literally the best at providing good and useful information cause you pack everything important in a small an fun package. Keep up the good work guys!
Yes pls. More suspension tutorials, infos etc. Suspension seems to be overwhelmed by drivers focusing on getting more power that they become negligent of their suspension.
Gels, can you slow it down a little. It's great information you guys provide but here it's hard to grasp an idea fully when you read the teleprompter so quickly. Just my suggestion, idk if anyone else feels the same.
No ads, no over extending the length of a video, getting straight to the info and giving the important background information along the way? Yeah, this is why I watch this channel.
I want to see BC coilovers valve their coilovers with softer compression valving to let the spring have more control on the compression stroke vs how they do it now which is same valving compression and rebound. ;)
Super useful for someone buying coils for thier first time! Used lowering springs on my old 06 Suzuki but for my new 18' Lex 3IS, I want to get some nice coils where I only delete wheel but also have the comfortability and looks. The only thing that confused me were the spring rates confused me! Thank you!!!
Each car is different. I can give you the info on e46 and e90. But majority of coilovers have a terrible springs that cause pitch. Pitch is terrible for street driving. You need to know the front to rear frequency of the car. I don't know of any coilovers brand that will tell you that. I've looked at alot of coilovers, bc coilovers, Tc kline, ground control, bilstein, kw, isc, I can go on. This is for tha platforms I listed. All those coilovers give pitch and you need flatride for a good comfortable ride. The right front to rear spring rate it's need first then you valve the damper according to the springs. If you don't care about ride quality it doesn't matter. But I've seen to many comments on why their car ride hard. One is the springs rate then the valving. Even a car with dampers over sprung or under sprung will ride surprisingly better if correct to the right front to rear spring. Also the frequency needs to be kept below 2 hertz for a nice gt setup. Over 2 hertz if racing frequency.
Soy Saucey engineering explained made a video on it as well, although I don’t believe they did one with the same car having different widths of tires, they did different size cars with different widths I believe
What’s the recommended spring rate for a 2.5K lbs car? I’ve got 6k at the front and 5k at the rear, but I feel the suspension compresses too much when hitting a bump and I don’t know if that’s expected.
I remember how I found you guys I was looking for wheels and some how I ended up on your page I was like what tires and wheel combos free delivery with free mounting and balancing. I was like it’s a fraud lol 😂 so I did my research and really didn’t come up with anything than for some reason I typed it into RUclips and boom!! I was pleased ordered my wheels a little over a year ago and have stayed subscribed to you guys since that day! Thank you guys for the information and funny videos 🙌🏾
yes, need a video on how spring rates work with damping. got a set of hsd coilovers for the rexy. 8kg front, 6 rear. way to stiff even on softest damping setting. change out to 6 front and 4 rear became softer... but also became bouncy instead.... not sure if its the pre load that was wrong, or needing to go a harder damping setting to settle out the bounce. but dam.. people hate getting in my car at the moment aha
That’s what I’m scared of getting a higher a higher spring rate than what is suggested from factory I don’t want my car to feel all bouncy what coilovers did you get ?
@@kevin2jzzzz203 stock spring rates are generally best. Softer rated springs will give better grip. If you are worried, stay under 8kg. I have 8kg fronts and 8.5 rears on my SUV, but I also have very fat sidewall tyres. Just been experimenting. Buying normal coils and normal springs was highway robbery, so I went with coilovers.
I am so conflicted with what to do with my frs. I LOVE the handling and I also want to stance it. Ive been deciding for weeks on what spring rate to get! I just imagine it being stanced but losing the handling and it makes my heart go fond.
I was so sad last month cus I wanted to try and get some nice konigs but ngl I wasn’t gonna spend 20 bucks on a shirt for a 12 year old. This shirt? That shit is SICK. I also love Bc
So you're saying, if i go with a 10k spring rate the ride won't be smooth with bumps and stuff like that? even if the dampening is set to maximum softness right?
The problem I always have with progressive spring rates is my mind. When the car is softer at low load I can't quite get past understanding that it will stiffen up under high load, so I'm less likely to throw the car into a corner as aggressively. I just stick with static rates to keep my dinosaur brain happy.
Was actually just about to buy some bc coils for my 8th gen civic si soon! But now that you’re having this giveaway on the same month, kinda feels like a sign to me lol. Gonna keep saving up for the coils and buy a shirt. Imagine if I win 😭
I believe its a secondary spring that sits on top of the stiffer one. To give a progressive comfort range, until you're going fast and pushing the limits, then it starts relying on the heavier spring rate.
A little new to all of this, so i was wondering about something. I am currently looking for new coil overs for my car And i am worried about how smooth my car will ride, i want a nice clean ride as a daily my car. So if i want to lower my car a good amount and not really slam it but still want a comfortable ride should i worry about spring rates or buy the standard?
Not sure if you figured it out yet, but I suggest you get swift springs for the coilovers you choose, or get a lower spring rate than what the coilover brand recommends, which will take away the overall stiffness.
Brah! Whats up with your ride! Can we get updates on that FRS...as for vids...can you put to rest the myth of throttle body spacers....just kill it man...

Can you guys add Canada to the mix. I would be awesome if I could enter.
Make a video of what the spring rate and valving would be needed for whatever we are trying to do with our cars.
Please make the video explaining valve adjustment on coilovers
I would like to know the spring rate and damping valve setting
