I've been watching rSlash every day for about 3 years now, and to be honest it is something that's nice to put on in the background while I'm working or editing, but it's hard to not notice just how much of his personality has been stripped from his videos as he's become so focused on just pumping out content every day.
I think part of the issue is from the time that he got a lot of backlash for “coming on too strong” with his opinions sometime last year. I remember he said that he was going to tone down his emotions in the opinion part.
@@potatoesdeterre I think it got so bad his fans were begging him to take a vacation because his opinions were so outlandish, and it's definitely starting to happen again.
yoooo Did anyone catcht how at 1:07 he said „3. you‘re blind“ but in the video written „you‘re deaf“, which is actually genius! Because if you‘re blind you won‘t see that he wrote desf, and if you‘re deaf you won‘t hear that he said blind. that lowkey made my day!
Someone who I feel really stands out in this space is Mattrose. He’s combining his talent of comedy with unique subreddits I never knew about while also collecting other funny posts on twitter and stuff.
I first picked up EmKay a few months after it started, and yeah, it has gotten worse. Mainly what I think, however, is that sine viewers are used to outrageous stories, they don't appear as fun anymore. Burn out is definitely a factor here, but I do think the audience has some part in this too.
Thank you for making great, consistent, simple content that is easy to digest. Your editing is clean and your voice is fantastic. Thank you for just being chill in a RUclips world that is the exact opposite
Personally, I LOVE updoot studios and the robo voice in general! I just think it’s almost calming, if not relaxing and I also think it’s funny whenever the robot messes up plus I kinda like how it sometimes mispronounces words, I just find the robot be entertaining sometimes and I also like how they blackout certain certain parts of the story so you can’t skip and read ahead. Plus, the speed of the robot is perfect for my reading style so I personally love it but that’s just me.
Wow that’s surprising to me cause even Rslash’s videos don’t appeal to me at all. I even find his performance grating at times. But it’s cool to find others who do, helps to remind myself that everyone has their own taste.
I personally prefer creators like rSlash, EmKay, and Matt Rose, since they use an actual voice, and there is some actual effort put into the making of the videos.
Ah yes… reddit content. Sometimes I like listening to them but I hate it when the recommendation system put me on those robot channels. RSlash is very fun to listen to and the Reddit community as a whole is my go to for when I want to listen to some spicy drama that feels safe to listen in on. I try to go for mostly the stuff that won’t make me question the morality of listening to story. Videos on the best of Reddit Updates forums is my favorite go to simply because if I indulge in watching one or two the recommendations system doesn’t dump anxiety inducing IRL Karen encounter videos (not something I want to watch when I’m trying to unwind before bed).
Real ones remember the days when he did Overwatch viewer clip montages on the channel Dabacabb. Kinda got whiplash when I first watched an rSlash video after seeing several other reddit channels and recognised the voice.
I listen to OneTopic when it comes to reddit content since its actually entertaining, besides that, I hate the robot voices from a lot of those videos great video btw
Man, I remember back in the day when I basically didn't speak English some people on the Russian-speaking side of the internet started taking some popular askreddit posts and translating & voicing them. It was genuinely great content, I used to just queue up like 10 or 12 of those vids (about 10 minutes each) while playing some games. I was very young back then, so it was very fun and even educational to hear the experiences of so many people, I really think listening to those askreddit threads back then somewhat shaped who I am today. The general quality and VA was (and still is) really good too, very pleasant to the ear, even visually appealing. I was really disappointed to find out that the english version of this is just some shitty AI generated content farm
The Rslash guy reminds me of "Redditor", a big channel that i used to listen to all the time, it helped me on my english learning a lot.. sometimes i still search for the guy on youtube. He still uploads but not nearly as much and his views are not so great. But still I like how in the end of the post he gives his opinion and shows his face, adds some personality to his voice :).
I remember that guy. All the content was the same but ill forever thank him for giving me background noise for when I was quarantined and bored out of my mind lol
I've watched Rslash's entire library multiple times because it's just perfect for having something in the background. I stopped listening to him a few months ago because I grew annoyed with the lack of innovation and his bizzare, out there takes. If your audience begs you to take a vacation because it's noticeable that you're losing yourself in the negativity of reddit stories, you'd better take a break. But he won't. I have switched to more mental health aware creators like The Click and OneTopic who cover fewer lengthy stories and add tons of commentary, opinions and genuine wholesome advice.
I hope somebody here remembers fakejake. He quit probably like 2 years ago and dude was just awesome. For like 3 years he put out over 1000 videos over multiple channels and rarely missed days. He had a channel where he just had 10 minutes of memes daily, and one for other stuff, and another for "darker" thins like cursed comments The last few months it was obvious he just started to care less and there wasn't as much effort and he missed more days until he finally posted a meme video that was like 30 minutes and he said this is it Then a few weeks later he just posted a video talking about burning and saying hes been averaging like over 5 videos a day for 3 years or something like that and that hes done now and honestly respect bro
I like these kinds of channels. They provide a simple services - they collect interesting reddit posts for me to read. I usually just pause the video and read the posts (the bot/person reading is usually too slow or wasting time doing bits). (If the channel doesn't show the full posts then I'll just block them, Channel blocker my beloved) Is their content lazy? The laziest I've ever seen! Do I care? No.
TheClick and OneTopic are some of the great ones on Reddit YT. They add a lot of their personality. Especially with TheClick. I come for the cursed takes and smooth voice and stay for his advice and educational tangents. Also CLICKADEMY!
Dark Fluff is another good Reddit channel. In regards to the legality of using Reddit content, I looked into it a few years back, so this may be out of date, but it's kind of a gray area. According to Reddit's ToS, those stories aren't owned by the users that post them, they're owned by Reddit. And I just don't see Reddit taking down YT vids over user posts as going in their favor in the public's opinion. Especially as these channels are driving people to post more on specific subReddits .
Personally, after all the great Reddit RUclipsrs like rSlash slowed down, EmKay has been my only source of Reddit content, daily. Multiple narrators give each person a room to breathe in their life once in a while. And it's not just "hey, what a cool thing", then moves onto the next post, the narrators relate to the viewers through their personal experiences too. Same with the editors and the narrators, much like Lixian and Markiplier. But you can tell the channel has moved on from great fun, to "snacking fun". The videos get shorter, they don't have the fanart section anymore, and they removed the intro, just to compensate to the RUclips algorithm. It lost its authenticity by half, but still hundred times more fulfilling to watch than slop like AI generated shorts.
I think the only subreddit where reading the posts ADDS to the experience is r/hfy (and r/humansarespaceorks, but the two are quite similar). In those subs people post web serials and there exists chanels, who have humans make audiobooks of them. The good chanels are respected in the community as they ask for permission and credit the author (both in the description and the thumbnail). One of the authors, u/itsdirector, even said that he saw an increase in his patreon income after the narration was released. This is how the system should work. Lately there have been instances of these tts chanels, but they are heavily disliked (and just worse than the human narrators)
Bro, I don't know why, but your voice and the way you speak are very different and kinda lazy compared to other RUclips creators, if that makes any sense. But I always enjoy watching your videos for some reason. Don't know why, but your videos are really, really unique.
He seems chill and genuine. A lot of people try to like get themselves excited and just overdo their voice idk how to describe it This feels like more of just a legit conversation where someone is just talking normally.
honestly i always brush off these reddit content as lazy content and not worth the click, maybe i should try watching one of the youtubers you mention, especially when reddit is banned in my country
I heard someone else bring this up. But with the recent AI tools, and old RUclipsrs “quitting” so recently (which they may have done in foreseen consequences on what I’m about to say) RUclips may be on the cusp of even more shitty AI generated content then we’ve ever seen, and the amount of garbage content might sink this platform forever. Hopefully that doesn’t come true, but it’s looking pretty bleak for RUclips. (And we’ve survived the 2012 algorithm change, and the 2017 adpocalypse) idk just some thoughts
I swear bro in 10 years when deepfaking content gets good enough and AI is good enough there's gonna be channels that have an AI come up with a video prompt and then put that prompt into a deep fake and then just create a new video where they literally didn't do anythung

YES! Matt Rose is definitely one of the best reddit RUclipsrs out there.

Reddit content like early EmKay and SootHouse is what made me join reddit in the first place
scoothouse was legendary
SootHouse where soot became stronk
How the hell has this video only 2000 views? Just keep on pushing, this content will be famous smday

I do like watching theClick, mostly because of his personality
Me too. He’s not just narrating, he’s adding commentary (which can last 5+ minutes usually) and of course bingo too
Yeah him and one topic, like they do a lot of skits or random tangents which I like listening to
Yay someone mentioned the Click but he does also spice things up by making some of his more recent vidoes with BINGO cards for specific subreddits
