Hello guys! Just letting you know I’ve started to build out a playlist of recommended music. It’s mostly a mixture of electronic, dark wave, dream pop etc. I will add to it as time goes on: ruclips.net/p/PLfz380wrOPWg4-YyuuSA8ubl-qxXL7zWY 🩷
Ooh, really liking your music there. Have you listen to Xymox (Clan of Xymox)? I especially recommend their album Twist of Shadows.
@@mariflame1821hey Mari! I don’t think I have heard them before but will definitely check them out!
@@glitterkitty Not sure if they still make music. The album is from 89. I was a big Duranie back then but my brother used to play synthesizers for a Goth band.
It is great to see someone as young as you being so into an old band like Duran Duran - it just shows how strong and powerful their songs are
Love your attitude to music and of course Duran. I’ve been a fan since 81 and feel pretty lucky that the band I chose as a 12 year old are still relevant today . Your reviews of the albums are a breath of fresh air love it 👌👌
Thank you David 🙏🏻
I really enjoy your breakdowns of the Duran Duran albums. I've seen them twice in concert and both shows were amazing. Some of my other favorite bands from the 80's that you may enjoy listening to are O.M.D., Simple Minds, and Level 42. OMD and Simple Minds are still making new music and tour fairly regularly.
Love your breakdown of the DD albums, and your detail to certain instruments or sounds that are used in the different songs.
I to am a big Nick Rhodes fan and was musically inspired by him to get into playing the keys and starting up a band. Funny how I've been told that a lot of the songs I've written have an "80's feel" to them. I guess that will happens when you're a life long Duranie 😂.
Keep up the great work, you do such an incredible job with all your videos.
Sending love from Ohio, USA
Thank you so much Chris!
I listened to a ton of Men At Work during a very formative time of my life, and those songs from Business and Cargo are deeply etched into my brain/soul.
7:48: Thanks for answering my question on music videos, Kitty! Hope to see DD music videos and/or documentary reactions!
Wow ! Awesome that Nick is your center point member. Same for me as well and have always thought Nick is THE center piece for DD.
Also glad to hear you will be staying within the "wave" genres. You absolutely fall in love with Alphaville's first album "Forever Young". Beautiful piece of synth pop artistry. As well as their second album "Afternoons in Utopia".
I remember "Out of My Mind." It was on "The Saint" soundtrack. I was 18 at the time, been living on my own a long while, and putting myself from high school into college. My mom had died, I was forced into my dad's custody in a very different state, and then emancipated - all in less than a year. Financially, it was iffy. Mentally, it was iffy. I was separated from my all I knew. I was estranged from my friends, my academic and career path, and contacts (which are MORE than important to a poor person like me). I had fallen for DD during the Wedding Album. When I saw the Saint, I felt comfortable enough to cry alone in that dark theater upon hearing the song. I continue to deal with the same issues. The song is like a hand reaching out to you.
I’m so sorry for your loss and appreciate you sharing your experience with the song. I really hope you are doing okay now and that the song does still give you comfort.
Italy. Crossed that off the bucket list awhile back. Was fortunate to visit Rome, Florence, and Venice. The food, you won't be disappointed and the gelato shops are everywhere. I wouldn't have expected Dire Straits as one of your faves. Grown up with Brothers in Arms. The title track is just special, puts me in tears every listen. Knopfler is such a great artist.
Very lucky you were able to visit Italy! I can’t wait to go myself and yes, I love Dire Straits. Love Over Gold and On Every Street.
@@glitterkitty Love Over Gold is another classic along with Making Movies (Skateaway, such a great tune), and On Every Street is underrated, it gets better with recent listens.
Sure you already know this and probably posted somewhere among your existing vid comments, that John Taylor and Andy both had solo songs. John “i do what i do” and andy “take it easy.” Hope you react to those at some point. ❤
Nick Rhodes definitely has been the key to Duran Duran's longevity. When John, Roger and Andy left the band in the mid 80's and John leaving in the mid to late 90's, the band could have imploded and ceased to exist..But, Nick knew the band was special..Along with Simon as mainstays, they forged ahead with different musicians and continued making music and history..
Hi there, thanks for answering! You didn't mention my country of origin, don't miss to visit Greece at some point in your life even if it is not in the near future! A nice idea would be to meet some of us when you visit Europe again, for instance I live in Belgium so if you visit Netherlands let us know :) Or maybe another idea, combine a visit with going to a Duran Duran future concert that some of us can also go and share the experience :)
I would love to visit Greece! It has also been on my list for a long time. I hope I can get back over to that side of the world in the near future. 🙏🏻
Nick is also my favourite band member for the same reasons actually. I loved loved loved the Arcadia album. In fact the first thing I owned (that was DD related) was the single of Election Day. I would recommend watching the video documentary of Arcadia. It really highlights the artistic side and inspirations for Arcadia. There's a DVD disc included with the 2010 CD release of So Red The Rose which has 3 discs: the album, the remixes and the video documentary.
Thank you for recommending the Arcadia documentary ❤️
Always kind and polite❤❤❤👏👏👏👏
Nick Rhodes is for me an unsung genius - without his musical wizardry, i don't think Duran Duran would sound like the same act.
I hope you visit some of their B sides, 12 inch singles and remixes at some point. Also Arcadia issued a selection of the same.
Love your analysis by the way xx
I plan to do that! Thanks Jonathan. Hope all is well 🙏🏻
Fantastic Q&A if I have to say so myself. Not surprising that Nick Rhodes is the one you associate with in Duran Duran most.
A Matter of Feeling was a big hit here in Brasil, but it's a pity that this song is so underrated by the band once they had not even listed it in their singles ever.
You’re such an interesting person Glitter! 💕
My first concert was Men at Work
Are you excited for DD's Halloween album? Given the potential song list and various artists, it should suit your goth appetite. Sounds like Simon is going to debut one of the new songs on his radio show this week. As I type this, DD is teasing the new album on twitter (X).
I just heard a snippet of it yesterday and it sounds amazing!
John is very artistic like Nick and even went to art school. He has sold paintings, has done poetry, and written and produced other artists like Merchant!
Lovely Q&A video!!! I really want a Madonna and Lady Gaga Deep Dive series in the future~!
Thank you love! Hopefully in the future.
I would love to hear you talk about the UK band THE FIXX they started around the same time as Duran Duran, The Fixx were new wave and were part of the UK invasion in 1983 where a lot of UK bands found bigger success stateside than in the UK…Check out ‘’No One Has To Cry”, ‘’I Will”, ‘’Beautiful Friction’’, ‘’Precious Stone’’, ‘’Happy Landings’’…those are just a handful of brilliant songs by The Fixx you would definitely like their music, They supported The Police on their Synchronicity tour in 83/84….The Fixx music has got a lot of depth lyrically and emotionally and above all it’s MELODIC !!! 👍😃👍
Thank you for the recommendation!
I'm a nick Rhodes fan also.
Love your channel❤
Thank you ❤️
Hiya . Ive just finished watching all of your Duran Duran content. Its so good . Have you listened to Durans air studio version of Tel Aviv ? Its immense .
Haven’t heard it but will add it to the list. Thank you 😊
Hello over there. I love your channel. As a DD fan since 1984 i absolute agree with your comments on the video's you've done so far.
Keep on going, and when you come to Europe your more then welcome in The Netherlands
I would love to visit someday soon 🙏🏻
@@glitterkitty maybe combine your trip with a DD concert? The expectation is that they will tour Europe in 2024.
@@user-cc8cp4xe1n , I already travelled to the UK to see Duran Duran - it was such an amazing gig! 😃
@@glitterkitty yes, i saw it in one of your posts. Great review! The same tour i've seen them in London. It was also a great experience. Always hoping they play some of their underrated albumtracks as there were Last chance of the stairway and Friends of mine.
I asked you, but I forgot what exactly 😂
😂
Greetings from the ghoulish graveyard, my sweet psycho killer.

I definitely plan to!
