Which scenario do you think was more realistic? Which one did you guys like more? Lastly, do you think his empire could have survived for hundreds of years into the future?
Sadly i think that the first one, Empires need time to consolidate themselves and expand well, like Rome did in it's begginings, there is no garantee that Alexander's succesors would have had his sheer charisma and military talent. It was an incredible video though.
Alexander wouldnt be able to conquer india tho atleast not entirety of it.but the rest of the conquests except maybe the bosporan area and crimean area is plausible. I don’t think that it would collapse. Scenario two the more interesting one anyways. There’s how young Alexander remember he was 32 when he died. So he’s 37 when he finishes the conquests. It’s not unrealistic to think that he could live for another 30 or 40 years. Many of the comments say that Alexander's empire would have collapsed after his death, or after his son's death at the latest, either abruptly or gradually. This certainly seems like the most realistic scenario, as an empire this enormous, with the available technology, is so brutally overstreteched that it is simply too big to stay together without collapsing under its own massive weight. However, to all those of you who want the empire to survive, I will give you the following ray of hope: An empire of this size, this vast and of such greatness and splendor, even if its existance were only an ephemeral one, will not quietly fade away. But if he was this successful, and his empire lasted even just a generation (or better yet, at least a century), then its legacy would be magnified enormously. The greek language and culture would spread much, much further and wider, and would fuse with local customs to give rise to a whole family of descendants. Tenets like Athenian democracy, the Latin script, Indo-Arabic numerals and countless other traditions might spread, meet one another and intermingle centuries ahead of real life. Christianity, once it arises, could potentially assume the same unifying role it had in the late Roman Empire, and thus spread not just westward from its birthplace, but eastward as well, possibly unifying Europe and Asia under one faith (or family of faiths) and potentially opening the door to an early emergence of the Silk Road and closer contact with China. Not to mention every great conqueror in Europe and Asia for the next 2000 years would view Alexander as their great inspirational figure and every future empire would aspire to emulate Alexander's. Alexander's tomb would rival the Kaaba in fame and prestige. In fact, if the empire's legacy is profound enough, then some two millennia later, I could totally see this timeline's equipvalent of the UN possibly being inspired by Alexander's empire, possibly even bearing his name in some form. The empire doesn't have to survive to achieve immortality, if its legacy becomes everlasting.

What about the great library of Alexandria? Maybe some tech from there could have helped the empire to thrive, by solving some of its problems. 2:10 - Interesting to note that you're describing the Maccabean Revolt. A civil war between Hellenic Hebrews, on the costal cities, and Traditionalists, in the hilly land in the east with no navigable rivers, that spiralled into Antiochus invading and losing. 4:30 - Interesting point. Persia used Greeks coins for trade in the west but kept a barter and commodity tax system in the east. After Alexanders conquests and minting of coins in the area the "silk road" increased in volume of trade as it was now connected via exchangable currencies. 6:45 - Yay, Indo-European! This always made me think that integration of the northern half of the empire would be easier, from a linguistic standpoint. 7:55 - I find the lack of Nubian wife disturbing. 13:30 - Vercingetorix was the King of the Belgae, the nation furthest from the Med, and only became leader of the whole Gauls during Ceaser's invasion. Before that Gaul was ruled by 3 states; 2 of which were republics. One of the reasons Ceasers gives for wiping them out was the danger posed by their advancement. Also, I feel like they would have pushed to the Carpathian's for the minerals and defense; then fight the Celts because you KNOW they are raiding the border regions! This kinda makes me think that the centre of the European area of the empire will be around the Danube/Pannonia; albeit, over a process of several centuries. Also Alexander's chief engineer apparently called, and drew up plans, for sculpting a giant statue of Alexander out of Mount Athos after his death. Never got funded.
These are all excellent observations. You are correct, he probably would have married a Nabataean, but instead in this cannon, Alexander IV married a Nabataean to solidify the treaty
Kinda interesting that an extention of Hellenic culture in this timeline could emerge as far as in Tarim Basin in modern day China (and probably further into China proper itself) and in Southeast Asia - both continental and maritime.
This is genuinely a significant second part, Mr. Nostradamus. I mean it, for every detail is explained, and imagery on what could have happened with animation mixed with scenes from Bannerlord games is a superb way you're improving and fits well with the story. I prefer the second scenario, where the migration in the Macedon Empire gave the people more options to go and find a new life in many cities. This empire is acting more like the United States of America but in the ancient world, which I love, and both Alexander the Great and Alexander IV are now considered Emperors is a terrific way of showing they have become a tremendous imperial dynasty that might make the Roman emperors jealous for their accomplishment. This Macdeon Empire was more stable and used its resources to develop domestic projects to improve the citizens who lived in the empire and had enemies to fight because those lands did not have any valuable resources. Those locals on those lands were not a problem to the Macdeon Empire, and is there no need for the local tribes to unify against them; what you said is accurate, and the possibility those tribes, along with their families, would probably move there and start a new life to bring good fortune and the start of with trade to following neighboring tribes onto different nations. And I would love to see a part three to this video, for this series is an absolute masterpiece and is way better than other alternate historian channels ( except for Monusier Z, Possible History, and Josh Sullivan, they are my favorite alternate historian RUclipsrs) who should take notes on how to do it but not in a criticizing harsh way but an encouraging way to make their audiences feel more entertained and should try to listen their audiences of new ideas they never heard of before. I'll repeat this, this is incredible and does this channel. No matter what anybody says, always be passionate about what you do best. Always stand tall with pride and accept who you are, for where that makes you unique!
thank you so much for the thoughtful comment. I also like the 2nd option more ( I am a huge fan of Alexander if you can't tell) and I wish this timeline happened. Did you see my animation for Possible History in his mongol video? What did you think of it? I really like those guys as well, but what do you think I can learn from them to improve my own content? Thanks
I think you should continue and even create more stories about those alt histories, i kinda believe they're unrealistic, but i still appreciate the same, I expect more from this Macedonian timeline and from the italian one also, cheers
Love your videos! Just discovered you, but after binging all your videos you are quickly becoming one of my favorite alt history youtubers! Keep up the good work.
this video's audio is better than the last video i commented on, the "raspy"-ish voice really puts me off, and the occasional stuttering hampers the immersion, but i have to say this video's audio was very good, 7/10.
We think worst case scenario is more realistic but we personally like the second scenario more as far as chronology goes! Looks like you're gonna have to make the next stage of this series soon, though xD Our vote is for you to pick up from the best case scenario! "Alexander's Perfect Timeline!"
I have a suggestion:Make a video about what if the mongol empire lasted longer. It could be like either they win every war, but I think that they go back and invade a second third whatever time and are successful every time when invading other countries, and it could also have stuff like what if they pushed farther into Europe, and if they beat the mamluks, would they push into Africa. Just a cool thought. Love all your videos btw
Interesting to think of how Roman Mythology would've developed without Greece being under their civilization's rule. Would they still have a recognizable/similar set of Hellenism?
I'd love to see how this Imperial Faith could impact the rise of a monotheistic Abrahamic religion in the Levant and eventually Arabia, if it happened at all in this timeline. Side note, would this empire be known to scholars afterwards as the Alexandrian Empire? Alexandrene? Alexandrid?
Yeah, if I make a part 3 to the series, I will go into the potential rise of an Abrahamic religion. I have not considered the name but it may have gone by either the Macedonian Empire or the Alexandrian Empire. This would be a continuation of the Macedonian Kingdom that was founded in 808 BC, but also that would be unrecognizable to Alexander's empire, so idk. I like the name "Alexandrian Empire" more, but what about you?
This is the basis of my alternate history idea. If Alexander survived the disease or poison. He was enthralled by other cultures and quickly adopted aspects into his rule. A leader like, with parts of India, might just decide to take the rest of India when he sees the kind of science and technology they have. A leader like that wouldn’t want to hide the stuff found, but spread it through his entire empire. A leader like that would take measures that might have preserved the reading and writing of hieroglyphs throughout history. He would turn his eyes to the Italian peninsula causing the tiny rome to team up with neighboring lands. What the etruscans and Carthaginians? The barbarians. This only serves to create a larger Rome for Alexander to conquer. Now we have a line of succession from Alexander himself. He keeps Aristotle’s great nephew alive on the campaign leading to his support and being a direct advisor to the family. His family rules the vast empire for ages. They eventually decide to invade China. The biggest war in ancient human history. With an entire invading army of millions rushing the Great Wall being manned by a million soldiers. The largest military operation in history, not even repeated in modern day. Something like that.
As of religious rebellions I think jews would be a pain in the ass since they did have many rebellions against both the seleucids and Roman's the maccabean revolt for example but other religions would be easy to govern since polytheistic religions tend to be more adaptive to new gods. If the empire wanted to move its capital I think the Eastern most point it can get is Babylon but in my humble opinion I don't think it would be moved that much to the east maybe it would be a new city in the Eastern Mediterranean like Alexandria which in our time line grew to be the new center of Greek culture and even Egypt was the last major stronghold of Greek culture before being conquered by Rome. And as huge lover of everything Greek it's a fact that everything will come to an end but I don't know how this empire would end maybe the non Greek parts will gradually get independent leaving out a national Greek state which what I think the Eastern Roman empire would've become if it survived which was becoming more and more Greek OR the whole empire would collapse with multiple Greek states OR the empire can get divided just like Rome did with Greek ruling class just like what happened to the Macedonian empire in our time line. I just also wanna point out to a minor mistake where you showed the Eastern Aegean coast (the Anatolian side) to be hellenized which is not the case this area was colonized the earliest by Greeks before any other region so I would count as hellenic not hellenized. And as always that was a great video. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work 🎉
0:37 Funnily enough this is what my Roman-Egyptian Queen’s realm will look like when she overthrows her Arabic Empress and pressed her claim on the Eastern Roman Empire in Crusader Kings 2
It's really interesting to see the hellenic ruins of ancient cities scattered across what was at one point, Bactria in and around the Fergana valley in central asia. Interestingly enough, it would explain why you can find people today living in these places with distinctly more european features, lighter hair and eye color. I will point toward the Pashto speaking people's of Afghanistan, who are MUCH more fair skinned than other people in neighboring Punjab.
I think the Roman rebellion would have been succesful to a degree. At this point they were well accoustomed to fighting the phalanx, and had some counter messures, a rebellion would have seen them employe a superior counter attack (like in our time-line every time they fought a Phalanx) that would shock the rest of the world, making Carthage, and the other areas in the west rebel. While they'd probably be conquered after a decade or so, it would become clear that the military of the empire would need to make some changes to ensure such a disater never occured again, becoming more like Rome in this instance of taking various different military styles, auxiliries, and technologies to better prepare the army. Rome in this timeline would be seen more as the reason why the empire lasted so long, and not necessarily as a rebellious state that should have known its place.
ngl though, watching this just made me wish this came true lmaooo, could you iamgine this empire lasting long enough to eventually someday becoming the face of a united human identity, then space omg would be so cool
Honestly it seems far more likely this sprawling mess ends up divided into 3 large empires roughly united, by everybody being Alexanders children, and the realization this empire is too big to govern as one unit without better transportation and messaging speed. Basically roughly India/Pakistan, Egypt/Middle East, and a Mediterranean/Europe.
My suggestion will be either Alexandria or Alexandretta that replaced Antioch as the new capital. By the way, you did not mention one thing. It's about Christianity. How will the Macedonian Empire react to the rise of Christianity? How will the current Macedonian King react to the peoples on the streets are saying that he is not divine but a mere mortal like the rest of them? Heck, will he even invited Jesus to have a conversation with him in the capital? How will it turned out? And which part of the Empire is the most likely place where Christianity will grow very popular? But most importantly, will Christianity becomes one of the factors to cause the Empire's downfall like how it became one of the factors that brought Rome's downfall? After all, the more and more the peoples kept hearing about spiritual rewards in the afterlife, the less and less they cared about an earthly empire. Not to mention that many women ended up taking the vows to preserve the virginities and chastities for religious reasons as well, thus causing the massive decline in the population with the birth rate thet kept getting lower and lower. Also, when will you do a video about the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania?
Thats a lot of questions so here is what happened. Alexandretta would become the empires capital in around 50BC. As time rolled on, Macedonian Hegemons would be viewed more as mortals than gods because the greeks would have not deified them, and the culture was hellenic. The more barbarian cultures would have seen them as gods at first, but as they became more greek, that practice would fade out. I have no idea if Jesus would be born, but if he was, Christianity would spread more to the east than the west. I have to disagree with your statement that Christianity was a factor in the fall of the Roman Empire. Your argument shows a lot of misconceptions about the era. The were a variety of factors for the fall of the empire that I went over in my video on the Roman Empire and I do not think religion was a major part. After all, if not for Constantine the Great, the first Christian emperor, Rome would have fallen much faster and the Byzantines may have never survived into the 1400s. The idea that vows of chastities caused a massive population decline is completely false. I have never seen any historical evidence or verifiable numbers to back that up, but if you have proof, I am willing to change my mind. I do not know how Christianity would have mixed with the hellenic empire, but I think it would have become very prominent by the 5th century if it ever existed. I am planning on making a video on the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth in the next month or so, but it depends on a few factors. I am glad you thought out your comment, and I hope my response makes sense :)
@@Videntis.History According to the RUclipsr known as Maiorianus, he named his channel after the last man capable of saving the Roman Empire, he stated that Christianity is not one of the major factors. Yes, this one is true. But he also stated that the Roman government never attempted to prevent women from taking up vows of chastity before. After all, it was a common way of escaping the arranged marriages. And the last lime I checked, no women like arranged marriages unless they are in it for money. He also stated that, alongside with reasons such as the debasing of the currency, the civilians are not allowed to bear arms and the troops raised from the Germanic tribes only remained loyal so far as long as the Roman Empire paid them handsomely, the citizens of the Empire also have no interested in fighting for an earthly empire anymore because of the spiritual rewards in the afterlife that awaited them. So yes, Christainity did not destroy the Roman Empire. But it's more of the Roman citizens used it as an excuse to not make themselves looked bad because saying "I don't wanted to fight for the Empire because I did not get paid enough" sound really selfish and bad. This has some of my own opinions that I interpreted on my own after watching the videos from Maiorianus' channel, of course. You can go check out his channel and watch some his videos. And you will be surprised with the ones such as "Why the late Romans wanted their Empire to fall" or "How the hero emperor Majorian almost restored the Western Roman Empire" for sure.

Thanks
@@Videntis.History, were you part of the Mongol video? That's so cool, man I really like that video, and thank you for creating that video!
@@benjaminobienu5297 kinda. Made the map animation at the start of the video
Lets go for a part 3 and the empire would probably have to start invading again around 5-11 century A.D
Awesome! Keep up with this great series
Thanks! So much
I think you should continue and even create more stories about those alt histories, i kinda believe they're unrealistic, but i still appreciate the same, I expect more from this Macedonian timeline and from the italian one also, cheers
I don’t think there is much more to go with the series but if it does good I will, I’m glad you liked it
I'd love to have seen a part 3 if this is possible :D
As someone who has delved into the incredible story of Alexander, please continue this series.
U gained a subscriber 😌
guess it’s time to make this empire in ck3
Love your videos! Just discovered you, but after binging all your videos you are quickly becoming one of my favorite alt history youtubers! Keep up the good work.
Welcome aboard!
3 thousand likes, continue the series.
Please do part 3!
I would like to, but typically later videos in a series get less and less views, so it depends on how this video does, I hope that makes sense
Amazing work as always keep it up! 👍
Thanks for the very high praise
Basically alternate universe, Blue Greek Mega Rome. We are truly in the worst timeline :(
yeah, that would be one of the best timelines
Being Greek, I should be the one upset about this, and I am, quite a lot actually.
Why?
this video's audio is better than the last video i commented on, the "raspy"-ish voice really puts me off, and the occasional stuttering hampers the immersion, but i have to say this video's audio was very good, 7/10.
thanks for the feedback
You deserve more followers, this Is great!
thanks
YESSSSSS!!!!!!! A whole series on this scenario!!!!!!!!
well, I hope so, but it depends on the likes
we have passed 3000 likes, where's my part 3?
Excellent video like always
thanks
What if the English won the 100 years war and the Angevin empire became Europe’s leading nation? Also great channel.
thanks for the good idea, I added it to my list
Broke 3k likes i wanna see a pt3
subscribed tbh great quality
amazing quality videos for a channel with only around 2000 subscribers, keep it up because success will surely follow 🙏
Thank you so much 😀
nearly at 2k already!?! i swear you hit 1k only a week ago, great job man!
thanks, I need to keep making bangers to maintain the growth
People still waiting for part three
👇
Bro please just do a part three. I know it didn’t make it to 3k but it’s so good bro
We think worst case scenario is more realistic but we personally like the second scenario more as far as chronology goes!
Looks like you're gonna have to make the next stage of this series soon, though xD
Our vote is for you to pick up from the best case scenario!
Also would love a part 3
nice idea, thanks
I just noticed, this scenario's Alexander has a lot in common with Kublai Khan. Is it a coincidence or was Kublai a source of inspiration ?
You're going to be big soon
i hope so
Really want part 3
Plea
se makea part 3 I beg of you
Please make Part 3! Please?🥺🥺
This really needs a part three! It would be really interesting to see how the Macedonians would handle threats like the Huns and Mongold.
Wonderful video. Could you do a video about a timeline where Protestant Reformation was avoided or reversed and how the world would be today
yeah, I will do that at some point, but I am not entirely sure how that would work
Interesting to think of how Roman Mythology would've developed without Greece being under their civilization's rule. Would they still have a recognizable/similar set of Hellenism?
That’s an interesting point
@@Videntis.History Ya I like "Alexandrian" more, it's simple but prestigious given its namesake, especially in this timeline.
@@ratherlargeshmeat6189 yeah, it rolls of the tongue
Part 3 will be cool
Hidden gem of a channel
thanks for the good feedback
its at 3.1k likes now gimme part 3 lol
Something like that.
do a part 3 por favor
Today was a good day with a new video out.
thank you
Part 3
There needs to be a part III
Thanks a lot and keep up the good work 🎉
So, in this alternate universe, Macedonia is basicaly the new Rome? Just, they didn't have two languages.
This is such an amazing Chanel, I wish that someday you'll get much more subscribers
I hope so, but I am happy with how quickly I got my current subscribers, I need to be patient
These videos are incredible
thanks so much
0:37 Funnily enough this is what my Roman-Egyptian Queen’s realm will look like when she overthrows her Arabic Empress and pressed her claim on the Eastern Roman Empire in Crusader Kings 2
I hope your campaign goes well and that you enjoyed the video
It's really interesting to see the hellenic ruins of ancient cities scattered across what was at one point, Bactria in and around the Fergana valley in central asia. Interestingly enough, it would explain why you can find people today living in these places with distinctly more european features, lighter hair and eye color. I will point toward the Pashto speaking people's of Afghanistan, who are MUCH more fair skinned than other people in neighboring Punjab.
Less that 100 left before part 3
So basically this video counts as a tutorial on how to stabilize a multhi ethnic empire
Do a part three on Christianity in Macedonia’s empire
ngl though, watching this just made me wish this came true lmaooo, could you iamgine this empire lasting long enough to eventually someday becoming the face of a united human identity, then space omg would be so cool
6:57 Jupiter looks like he had one too many loaves of True Roman Bread for True Romans.
part 3 plssss
Can you do part three?
Bruvs please like I wanna see part 3
3k likes drop the sequel please 🙏😭
I know it's not at 3000 likes but God damn I Crave a part three
