For the batter, I use 2 eggs, 1/4 cup whole milk, about 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Sugar, and about 1/4 teaspoon pure Vanilla. My toppings are butter and real Maple Syrup. I like Brioche, but will use whatever is on hand. But not dark rye...
I have always use a Custard that I made for my French Toast and I make a sweet Bread to soak it with bake it in the over after I pan Fry them in lots & Lots of Butter I never order it at a Restaurant 🤤 The most Butter the Better!!!!!! 🤤
Finally! Someone points out that real french toast is bread that is thoroughly soaked in the egg batter. How many times have you watched a cook dip the bread in the batter for less than 5 seconds? Real french toast is a heavy with batter. Also, it is not fried until it's dried out.
This is so funny to me, I work Expo at a restaurant and know for a fact that our kitchen doesn’t do any of this. They use fresh soft bread just dip it in and throw it on the grill
We buy challah at the bakery sometimes to make French toast. Our home French toast is yummy to us. We've had French toast casserole too. The restaurant has advantages we don't have.
@@taylors4243 I feel bad for so many people who don’t know good homemade scratch made with love foods, it’s too easy and I live to cook/bake with passion
I do and, there’s still plenty of people who do, life gets busy and they have other thing’s going on and people can’t spend hrs and, hrs in a kitchen everyday, people do take short cuts when, they need to but, that doesn’t mean it’s made with love. I know how to make a lot of things by scratch, I mostly don’t constantly because, of all what, I got going on in my life and, most people like me when, you get older, when, your by yourself and, the only one in the home, it can get to be too much sometimes because, you just don’t have the time to do it every single day.
French Toast isn’t soaked in a egg wash, it’s soaked in a custard, it takes 3 eggs, milk, ( don’t over do it on the milk) salt, cinnamon and, a little sugar and, vanilla! You can actually use regular bread and, nothing is wrong with that and, actually restaurants do use regular everyday bread, it’s more expensive high end restaurants are the ones mostly use brioche and, stale bread, facts!
Vanilla Almond milk is really what you should be using. Leave the poor cows alone. You really dont need puss and nasty stuff that comes from animal milk for cooking with. youre not a baby cow
@JGCooney oh thanks i guess 1000mg doesnt equate to grams. Oh wait, milli....grams hmmm i guess you dont understand basic things. Also, who the F are you talking to? No one said grams or milligrams. Go bully someone else kid
@sonyafox3271 your your is you're kiddo, and if you want to pretend to be a baby cow go ahead. Telling someone not to voice their knowledge because youll do what you want does not give you the right to bully people. Stay in school kiddos
What's your favorite french toast topping?
i love maple syrup and whip cream.
Margarine and Mrs. Butterworth
"I went to a restaurant that serves 'breakfast at any time.' So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance." - Steven Wright. 😋 🍞🥚🥛❤❤

Home cooked tastes better to me
America's Test Kitchen's "Everyday French Toast" recipe. You cook it all at once in a rimmed baking sheet. You're welcome.

I was saying the same thing.
Like she's saying stale bread for crispy French toast. I've never had do I want crispy French toast
The toppings I like are maple syrup, Nutella, blueberry preserves, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate Gamache, to name a few.
This popped up like 10 minutes after I put some frozen french toast in the toaster
This is far from the truth, homemade is far superior to any restaurant made French toast
lies, smh
🙏
We buy challah at the bakery sometimes to make French toast. Our home French toast is yummy to us.
We've had French toast casserole too.
The restaurant has advantages we don't have.
Frenchtoast is awesome
There's no such thing as "surplus banana bread". 😂
I use wheat bread. But I toast it first in my toaster
Amtrak still has something special about their French Toast...
having tv show clips badly edited into the video just makes it feel the target audience of these videos is under 80 iq
I disagree. Good as they are over there, they just don't need cinnamon.
w vid mashed!
I don't know what she's talking about. Crispy French toast. I like my French toast, not crispy Just soft.
When my mom made it when I was a kid.
The reason it gets soggy is the papery "sandwich bread" has no structure. It has a cake structure.
Um not true, saying French toast always tastes better at a restaurant is utter💩homemade tastes way better.
im sure youre not going to good restaurants if that is what you think. I feel bad that you have missed out on such a great experience.

.e to I hate restaurants French toast
if you use fresh bread and try to soak the egg wash you will have a bad time. Stale like bread is best.
