I live on 11th street next to the cathedral. Love it here. The Cortez Apartments. My building has an underground bunker built when Nuclear Warfare was a threat. We even have an old machine that can detect radiation. It’s a pretty cool spot that I have. Me and my son are always up and down K street.
"City of Trees" is NOT the nickname of Sacramento, it's a title giving to Sacramento by the Arbor Day Foundation. "City of Trees" was started by the Arbor Day Foundation in 1976 to promote the planting and maintenance of trees in the urban environment. More than 3,900 communities have achieved Tree City USA status.
It grew too fast unfortunately.. could’ve stayed that way for another 30 years and it would’ve been great. Now its highly overpopulated and everyone stays home on the internet instead of engaging with one another.
This audio would make a perfect new video where he is talming about what males sacrame to great and ita showing the aqeful state its in right now. Show a mcmansion in one clip and then show the homeless in another when the narrorator says its a city of contrasts
Good lord...of course someone has to bring up race. No wonder racism can't die...because you idiots always want to bring it up. Maybe they should have shown 3 black folks, 3 white folks, 3 Hispanics, and 3 asians....that way you babies can stop crying.
Sacto was one of my favorite places to visit in the 80s and 90s. Especially Old Town.
I like how they run out of things to talk about two thirds of the way in and just tell you to go someplace else.
There's an old joke that Sacramento is a "Two-Hour Town," as in it's a two-hour drive from more exciting places.
@@konami1979 yup when my friends and I think of going somewhere it’s either santa cruz, sf just anywhere but sacramento almost nothing to do
😂 he named everything to do here in 3 and a half minutes
Haha...aww man.
😂🤣
I enjoy the nostalgic throwback
Been here all my life. It's been good for me.
Sackermenno!
We should remake it but keep the audio and just film all the same spot, surely everything's improved!
I'm down to help. Lol.
do it please
I guess we could insert a clip of SRFC in place of Surge.
More homeless

It was even cooler in the early 80’s.

Yeah, these days I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing.
Ah the 1990’s, when the Kings weren’t absolutely awful...
WE DONE BOUNCED BACK BABYYY
Yessir!!! @@cassiusjones4061
Sacramento was so nice in the 80's and like all other places, became a dump with Silicon Valley transplants the last 20 years. Sick!
I love this so much.
Years later it’s turned from the beautiful City of Trees to the City of 💩. Literally and figuratively.
I mean every U.S. city has its bad side, Sacramento isn’t any different from most major U.S. cities 🤷🏻♂️.
One thing I won’t ever forget is where I come from #SACRAMENTO
This was GREAT!
Back when the city wasn’t over run by homeless.
Now there are homeless sleeping outside the convention center, it's sad seeing all the buisnessess boarded up downtown. Smh.
Thank the influx of liberals from the Bay.
Do you have one of Auburn California?
So is this really way back in the 90's era?.
Correct! This was made in 1991 by the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau which is now known as Visit Sacramento.
@@CenterforSacramentoHistory sometimes I wish to turn back time.
And as far as I had seen things were really cool back in the 1990's.

Moved out thank god. It was a great home for 40 years but, I got the hell out and got some land! It does suck though.😜

I just deleted our previous converstion over this. No hard feelings I hope.
When i was a little kid i knew what it meant not til i got older did i realize people were joking about weed
City of trees is 19 miles away in Woodland
"Sacramento is diverse" after they've shown like 56,000 Caucasians and two Mexicans 😆
Love my city 😎 🌉 🌴
4:35 Jazz Festival?
dirty mack road
Wow, Interstate 5 was even uglier then than it is now. We still need to get rid of the waterfront stretch, though.
The marketing fluff in this video is out of control 😂

No diversity in this video though lol. Very misleading.
Too white?
It was nicer than it is now. Even ten years ago, it was better.
Misleading why would you want to show oak park that ghetto ass area
Exactly what I said. You can't show two Mexicans and a million whites and then talk about diversity. Wtf.
