Thanks, Lawson, for some good, thoughtful advice. I'm definitely in the "Have wee 'uns that would not leave dangerous chemicals well enough alone" camp. Good to know that there's a viable alternative to enamels and oils out there should I want to branch into it.

I kinda feel that you should have gone thinner, and let it dry a bit more, and the same with the oils
