It's imo the best looking Kup in terms of the sculpt. As is typical for XTB really: nearly always excellent sculpting. It certainly looks very premium, and it's beautifully painted. But as is also typical for XTB there are a lot of negatives: 1 - the transformation is needlessly complex and the figure always feels like it's about to break even when you're super gentle with it 2 - the feet are floppy and feel cheap and unfinished (XTB does this so often - so much diecast all over the figure, but cheap little plastic feet that are poor quality). - It has difficulty holding the weapon. - When it does hold the weapon, it holds it at a weird inward angle. I solve this by slightly unplugging the hand that's holding the weapon so he can point it straight. Overall, if you don't transform your MPs, I would say Locke is a fine choice. If you do transform them, go with Koot or wait for a better offering to appear on the market (Koot is quite old and outdated after all). I got Locke 2.0 and it looks pretty in my display, but it's not one of the figures I ever pick up and play with. If FT releases an updated version, or Ocular Max, Magic Square or some other 3P company releases one, I'm very likely going to get that.
Didn't miss anything with this bot going with the FT version. Seems like a lot of XTB offering, looks good in bot or alt but getting there just isn't worth it. In fairness, the FT Kup has its moments in that transformation.
Mine's still intact after two transformations. It's way more involved than FT Koot, which I also have, as Koot is a walk in the park compared to this. Even with the more complex transformation, I still prefer XTB Kup over FT in both robot and alt. Only thing I don't like is he feels very fragile compared to FT. I also hate the waist bend as there's nothing holding it in place.
It took me years to finally realize that XTB just doesn’t put out a figure that I can actually hold onto. The only XTB figures I’ve even kept in my collection are the Quintessons. Those are done well and they don’t even transform. That’s probably why they’re as good as they are.
I just looked through my collection. I only have Windcharger and their Stunticon set. Oh and Wheelie. Which is broken at the hip joint. with tons of paint chips. Held together with glue at the moment.
I like the look of Locke over Koot, but I hate the fiddloness of this figure. Probably will replace it with Koot at some point. The Fans Toys just seems more stable and solid. And I hate saying that cause I am a X-Transbots fan.
This is version 2.0 as the first version was the version with a lot of breakage. I have this 2.0 and FT and while I've only transformed him twice, I've got no problems with the transformation. It's way more complicated than FT Koot though as that was a relatively easy transformation.
If you go by looks and shelf presence alone this kills the FTs. I hate the way the FTs looks. Something left over from 90s tech 😂😂😂😂. If anything needs a 2.0 for FTs its this
I picked this guy up at TFSource on sale on Black Friday. Like him for what i paid, but would be disappointed at full price. He is fun, but far from perfect...
Everytime someone says something negative about an X Transbots figure, some crazed fanboy comes running to gaslight us that it must be a skill issue why we don't like a figure.
I don't think anyone can defend this figure, it is straight up a bad design and even the master of all RUclips transformations Emgo broke it and scraped it
@TMReviews not defending xtransbots as the v1 mess really was a joke but my v2 is great, can be transformed, can be posed how I want. I always love the look of xtransbots designs over other mp companies but their engineering and qc are abysmal far too often to let them off the hook.
If this was any other brand besides KFC, I think you would've given this a lower score. But because of all the shade from the fan boys, you're being generous. Paint scraping and parts breaking is an automatic 2 or less to me. Please don't take this the wrong way😊. Great review. I'm looking forward to the comparison.
Like this figure. Its my MP Kup. Fortunately my copy was solid, no issues. Got lucky I guess.

I remember when bashing the FT kup transformation was a thing and then Xtransbots said hold my beer and gave is this QC mess of a figure.
😂😂😂 so true

Does it break???
Maybe if you’re rough, impatient and heavy handed like Bobby Skullface. 😂

@@TMReviewsi put some plastik tape over it. Id did fine. No scratches.

Well, the quintessons are overpriced to be non transforming figures
@ true but at least they hold together
Yep, I'm not rolling the dice anymore after the omnibots are done
@@TMReviews save your money for Fanstoys. I won’t settle for less ever again.
Bro, I have the version 1 of this and if thought version 2 was bad 😂. I will gladly send that to u if u want to compare all three.

I heard the legs keep breaking on this.

Bunch of great deals for older figures this holiday!

Good point, It probably deserved a 2 for self destruction upon transformation
