Munson and Parrish are both overrated. Neither is in the Hall of Fame, which would be expected of someone in the all-time top ten at their position. You also didn't mention the strongest argument for Roy Campanella, who threw out 57% of the runners who attempted to steal on him.

Munson not in same class. He may be Yankee top 10, but nowhere on all-time list
johnny bench is the best of all time
1. Campanella (3x mvp, .860 ops, .500 slug), 2. Berra (3x mvp, .830 ops, .482 slug), 3. Bench (2x mvp, .818 ops, .476 slug) 4. Harnett (1x mvp, .859 ops, .489 slug) 5. Bill Dickey (14x ws champ, .868 ops, .486 slug ) Substitute Elston Howard for Munson and the rest are yours .
Ivan GOAT! #rangersnation
Maybe I'm biased because I'm Puerto Rican, but Ivan HAS to be either #1 or #2, along with Johnny Bench.
The best is Ivan Rodriguez period.
Did you read the stats?? Yogi was the greatest Catcher ever! Guy had an 18 year career He won 13 world series!!
That means only 5 years in his career, he didnt win THE FUCKING WORLD SERIES.
NAME Another EntireTeam (besides the Yankees) That Win 13 World Series’s in their existence
Nevermind another player.
He played 7000 games scored 2100 runs. 18 times an all star. And you think Fucking Ivan Rodriguez should be Number one Because Hes Puerto Rican. Please hon,,,Stick to watching Soap Operas and Dancing with the stars and shit Leave the baseball to the boys!! Just go to your sons games and yell from the stands like the rest of the Moms!!

BigCheech 4509 he won ten World Series as a player. The other three were as a coach/manager
But Bench was the slightly better all around catcher I would say both were really great
No disrespect Yogi Berra is not number one because he gets cleared by Johnny bench
Mike Piazza is the best hitting catcher of all time and should have been top 3.
Pudge is top 3
Wasn't great defensively.
Bench is the best
Switch the last two around
You forgot Mike Piazza.
Not great defensively.
Munson and Parrish are both overrated. Neither is in the Hall of Fame, which would be expected of someone in the all-time top ten at their position. You also didn't mention the strongest argument for Roy Campanella, who threw out 57% of the runners who attempted to steal on him.
Munson was a gamer and great clutch hitter. He also handled pitchers well. Not in the HOF because the plane crash shortened his career. But considered one of the best of his day. I agree with you on Campenella.
@@howie9751To me, and to those who vote for the Hall of Fame, Munson was a very good player who played on great teams.
@@roberthudson1959 He was one of the reasons they were a great team. Watching behind the plate was a treat for us Yankee fans. Great clutch hitter too. Sport Magazine considered him the best catcher of his era. The injuries of the last couple of years lowered his stats and I think that's what is keeping him out of the HOF.
Only 15 catchers have made it to the HOF! The position must be related to Rodney Dangerfield - 'get no respect'!
@@luberdoo1950 Catcher is a defensive-oriented position, and players generally hit or pitch their way into the Hall. .
Jorge Posada?
Gary Carter over pudge is Ludacris
Pudge juiced.
Excuse me, Mike Piazza is the best hitting catch not named Josh Gibson.
But not great defensively.
Not a good list.
No way was Yogi better than Bench or Rodriquez. He was just on better teams and only average defensively.
And better than Yadi
1. Campanella (3x mvp, .860 ops, .500 slug), 2. Berra (3x mvp, .830 ops, .482 slug), 3. Bench (2x mvp, .818 ops, .476 slug) 4. Harnett (1x mvp, .859 ops, .489 slug) 5. Bill Dickey (14x ws champ, .868 ops, .486 slug ) Substitute Elston Howard for Munson and the rest are yours .
@@oldude979Your offensive stats don't counter the argument that Berra was only average defensively.
@@roberthudson1959 Robert you were born too late to have seen Berra play so on what basis do you say he had average defensive capabilities.? Berea holds the MLB record for consecutive games catching without an error - 148 games.
@@oldude979I didn't make the argument that Berra was average defensively, @tomfreese5190 did. I did say that using offensive statistics to respond to a comment about defensive prowess is illogical, and I stand by that comment.
Johnny Bench must be #1. Lance Parrish and Thurman Munson don't belong on that list. And where's Mike Piazza?
THIS IS TOTAL CRAP, U CHEAPEN THE LIST WITH MUNSON !! 1. Campanella (3x mvp, .860 ops, .500 slug), 2. Berra (3x mvp, .830 ops, .482 slug), 3. Bench (2x mvp, .818 ops, .476 slug) 4. Harnett (1x mvp, .859 ops, .489 slug) 5. Bill Dickey (14x ws champ, .868 ops, .486 slug ) Substitute Elston Howard for Munson and the rest are yours .
