Copyrighting has now become something brought to my attention by someone else who has enjoyed my poetry here on RUclips… I wonder, if someone tries to use my poetry and I haven’t copyrighted it but I have evidence of my creation of it, can I take action? Anyways, no pressure to answer the question! I enjoyed the content! You have a Sub here 🙏🏾❤️😁🎉

If you put a little in, selling on Amazon can be good. Make sure your keywords and categories are in there. Use social media and/or your website to drive people out to Amazon to buy.
An anthology is a collection of selected writings by various authors within the same genre. Whereas a chapbook is by one author that is less than 50 pages. I hope that helps!
thanks so much, but please is a chapbook made up of poems with different genres or themes? In order words, can l compile poems with different themes in a chapbook
@@kingsleyventus3606 With a chapbook, you will want to have the same theme throughout, especially since it's a small collection. The same theme keeps it cohesive.
Hello there. I don't know that much about Draft 2 Digital. I know they don't charge anything to format but will keep 10 percent of your sale which is lower than standard. I would encourage you to do your research/comparison with Amazon KDP and Ingram Spark to determine what's going to be best for you.
Thank you for this! The issue I had with trying to upload my poetry in the past is KDP was trying to get me to add chapters, but I did not want to create chapters. Also, does printing to KDP not copywright your work automatically?
Hello there! Firstly, congratulations on your poetry book. Go to www.copyright.gov which is the US Copyright Office and you can copyright your book there online. The standard application is $65. You'll upload a copy of the manuscript, along with payment. You'll receive the certificate in the mail in about two weeks.
Thanks for the informative video! When you click publish, what exactly happens? Does the book go live on Amazon right then? Or is there a waiting period, where you then can click publish once the book has been approved?
Hello Zack! After you click send, it is typically reviewed and published within 24-72 hours. Amazon will inform you if any changes need to be made, and then when it actually publishes.
@@Anabee399 You have enough poems to do a chapbook (which will have less than 40 or so poems) or a full collection. If you weren't trying to do either of these and just get a copyright on your poems, then you can do that through the copyright office in groups of ten.
Hello there! Copyright laws do vary from country to country. So, I would encourage you to visit www.copyrightlaws.com and www.copyright.gov to review the laws in your country and what is entailed. Thank you for that question!

Hello! There are no set amount of pages that a poetry book should have. However, I would say that anything less than 50 pages can be considered a chapbook. And chapbooks can be as little as 10 pages. This is a quick way to get your work published.
Jenny, What I typically do is use the standard application for a completed manuscript. That way you're not doing one at a time which can costly. However, if you have a dozen or so poems for example, you can make them a small collection and copyright those.
I will say that if you are a new author publishing your first chapbook, you'll want to price it lower than $15. Chapbooks generally are much lower than that. That would be the price of a full-length poetry book.
