  • In my previous videos I struggled to tilt the bucket to the angle I wanted for grading. I would push the auxiliary hydraulic switch to the right but the bucket would tilt to the left. Maybe that is standard practice, but to me that seemed wrong. I contacted Land Pride Technical support but after a week no answer. I contacted my dealer where I bought it and their maintenance manager said switching hoses should not be a problem, so I gave it a try. Seems more logical to me now.
It was 96F and 90% humidity and I was dripping wet just from greasing all the connections. But it sure was nice inside the cab in the air-conditioning!!! We will be doing some skid trail building shortly, clearing the trees and leveling out the path to control erosion. Stay tuned.

Land Pride TH35 Tilt Hitch or Tilt Plate
On Excavators there are two modes for controls, this doesn't seem to exist for Tracked Loaders/Skid Steers
The two modes for excavator controls are typically called ISO mode and SAE mode (also known as CAT mode).
ISO mode (International Organization for Standardization): In this mode, the left joystick controls the swing (left and right) and the boom (up and down), while the right joystick controls the stick (in and out) and the bucket (curl and dump).
SAE mode (Society of Automotive Engineers) or CAT mode: In this mode, the left joystick controls the swing (left and right) and the stick (in and out), while the right joystick controls the boom (up and down) and the bucket (curl and dump).
Operators often have a preference for one mode over the other based on their training and experience. Some excavators allow you to switch between these modes to accommodate different operators' preferences.

Here we go, It is NOT ur opinion, It really is supposed to be on all equipment that you move a control to the right something goes right. Same for left. Control to left something left. On a 6 way blade (dozer) used to be move (T handle on JD) to left blade tilts to left and twist top of handle to left would be angle left. Newer models & other makes have put buttons in the joystick for certain functions I have to look to see WTH is going on cuz I'm elderly. :) Years ago it used to be, Pull a lever was up, Push the lever was down. Some newer logging equip has changed.

I don't have any other experience on other pieces of heavy equipment. I know on mini excavators you have have the controls work two different ways, and was wondering if I just didn't know how to change the skid steer to different modes?

Ryobi doesn't make anything for real men :):):) Husqvarna, Jonsered, Stihl, the rest are for hobbies. :):)

In general I would totally agree. We bought Ryobi as a home string trimmer / weed wacker first. Then we needed a new lawn mower after moving and having a much smaller yard realized a new Ryobi mower would be less maintenance. No gas, no oil changes. Same amount of blade sharpening. Then our Toro Electric Corded leaf blower died, and got Ryobi 730mph blower which is AWESOME with no cords!! Then we needed to trim some branches at the new house, well why not get a Ryobi pole saw so I don't need to climb a tree with my gas chainsaw. Then the clutch went on my gas chain saw I bought when I was 18 years old (so 40+ years old) and couldn't get parts. So I got the 18" Ryobi 40v chain saw. No need to mix gas, and worry about the fuel aging out. All the Ryobi equipment we have uses the same type of 40v battery, just in different Amp Hour sizes (2, 4, 5, 8ah) so it just made sense for our use case since we don't use the equipment in a professional business.
If I did need to cut 18" logs day in and day out I'd get a Stihl Rancher or similar. And once we are on the farm doing more logging I probably will......but for us currently having the same exact battery in all our equipment is really helpful even though the equipment is not industrial grade.
Thanks for commenting, and I think you are correct and spot on!!
