I just hate when people don't appreciate this kind of videos, too much work behind as editing plus the effort of this man trying to teach his knowledge to others. Thanks!
Thanks Kevin for the feedback. Maybe we could make a video on tips and tricks to help prevent tracks from falling off. This seems to happen more on mini excavators (in my experience). But certainly more of a pain putting tracks back on a track loader.
Put a block of wood between the front of the track and the back of the bucket and tilt the bucket down to press the grease out. Do it before you lift it up in the air.
Thank you! great explanation of the grease tensioning mechanism - loosening/tightening and troubleshooting considerations - Couldn't have changed my tracks without this info :)
1 man job, ive done 7 in the field in the last 1.5 years just bring a 1/2 -3/4 ton come-a-long with you to lift the track off and on the drive by hooking up to the lift arm of the skid steer. Very easy to do. Time frame is 15-30 minutes
Great Video, many good tips here. I think this is good for the Kubuta where the door will never get in the way with hydraulic sag of the machine, whereas other machines like Deer and Bobcat with a cab door unit, you will have to take the door off otherwise you could find yourself locked/blocked out of your cab, or the door could be sheered off as the hydraulics slowly sag.
Hey Hoang, we have been using milwaukee cordless grease guns industrially. Get used daily in bad conditions. They have been very good except for a few trigger replacements.
@@brandodo yeh on the smaller m18 battery I get about 3 to 4 grease tubes before battery dies. The bigger amp hour m18 battery gives 4 to 5 grease tubes during summer. Wintertime I'm lucky to get 3 tubes before they die.
David Sims surprisingly we did a test on a stubborn grease fitting with both air regulator set to 130psi (not reccomended for grease gun) and Milwaukee cordless. The Milwaukee was able to force grease into the pin whereas the air did not have enough pressure. Was a huge surprise to me and the other mechanic.
Wow awesome video, I watched it till the end great job.. honestly you made it look so easy.. we were just working on a track and it would not fit till we noticed the track they had given us had 56 links the original we took off has 58, I’m assuming this made a great difference, now they are ordering one with 58 links.. we do all work by hand so my back is killing me lol 😂

Great video I will be using tomorrow had a rough time with one today on a takehuechi I started on front idler won’t be doing that again . Good news is that I got it on
No problem. Let us know if there’s anything else you want to see. Tons of specific how to’s hosted by Tekamo mechanics will be posted on Fortis HD’s channel.
depends on where it fails, if you are in mud or on a hill or next to trees its going to take a while. if its on level ground and in the open, less than an hour.
How about if your skid steer won’t run? I blew a hydraulic line to the drive motor on one side. Have no hydraulic pressure now and on my new Holland the track has to be removed to access the lines. Any suggestions? I’ve already exhausted my extensive vocabulary on it and that didn’t work at all 😂

I have a kubota SVL 95 2s and I can get a set of tracks for cheap that are 2 links longer and the other set is 2 links shorter. Would either of these work, is there enough adjustment in the track or would it be a disaster?
You're not having fun until you've thrown your downhill track on a big, rusted loader on a 30 degree grade. Make sure its got a push out door and not a flip up for added operator comfort while you work,, hey he can't help out if he can't get out!
Just to throw it out there… if you was to put the machine down after all the slack was out of idler which would eliminate the weight from the track and less tension on the sprocket it would be easier to pull off
Thanks Paul. Let us know what you think of our other videos and if there's any we can make to help out. We'll do our best to create them. Happy Holidays!

Exactly
what's a good brand grease gun or which one is he using?
Lots of good options out there but in this video Keith is using a Snap-on cordless.

How long would it take normally to change a track in the field for an experienced mechanic?
Usually anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. Depends on the size and weight of the track! Always good to have an extra set of hands.
depends on where it fails, if you are in mud or on a hill or next to trees its going to take a while. if its on level ground and in the open, less than an hour.
