In this demonstration, we're using a Kubota SVL75-2 to change a factory track (rubber tracks not metal tracks) and put an aftermarket track on the machine. To test whether a factory or aftermarket track wears faster, we're just changing the track on one side, so that as we use the machine we see which track wears out first.
Although we're using a Kubota skid steer, this technique for changing the track can be applied to most skid steers or compact track loaders.
    Tools needed:
    - half inch drive ratchet
    - 17 millimeter deep socket
    - 19 millimeter socket (with a 6 inch extension)
    - chisel bar
    - grease gun (manual, pneumatic, or electric)
Before you can change the track you obviously need to lift the machine. Our method involves creating a pivot point between some solid blocks and the bucket.
Make sure you're on flat ground when you do this!
    1. Set up some sturdy blocking behind the machine so it can't fall over
    2. Lift the boom up in the air, tilting the bucket forwards.
    3. As you press down it will pivot on the back blocks and lift the tracks in the air.
Once you've got enough clearance you'll be ready to change the track!
Any piece of equipment that has rubber tracks of this style (there's no bolts or pins that hold them together) they're non-repairable if they get ripped, gouged, or wear out.

I changed the Zig Zag track on our SVL 72-2. Bought the new track from our local Kubota dealer. I was by myself, I used ratchet straps from the Loader Arm to the track to lift the new track up to drive sprocket and pry bars. Never did this before so 1 hours to get the track off, 2 hours to get the new one on. As I was tensioning the track I noticed writing on the side of the track saying "Rotation" and an Arrow pointing "THE WRONG DIRECTION" After 2 hours of cursing I got the track off and another 2 hours to put it back on in the right Direction. I can laugh now but I was not happy then. Check your tracks to see if they have a Rotation arrow on them, don't do what I did. haha

When u took the grease valve u should have put a rag under the valve when u took it off and u can just wrap it up and throw it away. It might take several rags but that's a way to do it while avoiding the mess. And the way of getting the old track off with my atv. And qhen u try to get the new track on you can you only need to pit the track on the front idaler and the sprocket then use a pry bar to to push the track on to the rear idler and have onother person roll the track forward and backwards and it should snap right on but it might not work but just keep trying.. That's what I have learned within 13 years of doin this with my skidd loader for my contracting business. but overall great video. Well done.

Bobcat mechanics have a video that might help you out and the track on the sprocket first is always easier than front idler first

I know this is an old video but couldn't you have used something to attach the new track to the lift arm above the sprocket (like a chain) to lift the track as you're lowering the machine?
Or use a come-along and a chain attached above the sprocket to basically pull the track up using the come-along.

I have a kubota SVL 95 2s and I can get a set of tracks for cheap that are 2 links longer and the other set is 2 links shorter. Would either of these work, is there enough adjustment in the track or would it be a disaster?
