Although it's not the topic of the video, more explanation is needed regarding the link between "the history of slavery" and the 2020 riots suggested by the otherwise evidence-focused Dr. Shermer in the commercial intro.
Spends entire life studying invisible desert fairies but says UFOs are ridiculous. Ha ha. Yah ok. I gave it about five minutes. At this point if you are completely dismissing all of the available evidence for UFOs you just aren't being credible.
@@patrickl6932 The whole point is, that Misnomer-Skeptics as Shermer willingly confuse the lack of evidence (but tons of indications) with the proof for non-existence! And such a misconception is unscientific in the highest degrees. Someone should explain that to him ;) This topic will never be accordingly investigated in terms of science as long as dogmatic inquisitors as Shermer will be regarded as neutral persona. And btw his arguments against UFOs/ Alien/ etc are located somewhere between dull and shallow.
I have never been a Sci fi fan. I've never seen a star trek episode or anything like that. But I have seen a UFO 1996 in Stockholm and I have no idea how "corrupted" my memory is after all these years but I also at that time, was 25, dreamed about flying saucers. No nightmares, no happy dreams. Just dreaming about flying saucers flying over my head. But impactful enough to remember. I wonder what that represented? The ufo I saw was a classic cigar ufo but it was probably a secret military thing. So I don't believe in anything religious, supernatural or aliens. Not even interested except for the last 5-10 years. Wonder why I dreamed about saucers when I never thought about it at all? 🤔
these explanation are as crazy and unprovable as the stories of some ufo and abduction believers. The funny part of this is, that his explanations are nothing more than stories, with which he wants to explain how someone really comes to stories about ufo's. Did he ever thought about, that his own stories could be explained as well - in a different way? How does he come to his far-fatched stories? What's really going on here? Maybe it has something to do with his childhood or maybe its based on a cultural phenomenon? There is not even one piece of evidence in support of his explanations. So whats the difference in comparison to claims about the paranormal?

I’m as skeptical as they come. I’ve had dreams that became reality. In vivid detail. Help me prove it. Or, debunk my brain. Either way. I need answers. One reoccurring dream I experience involves “UFO’s”. Hopefully I’m just crazy.
Either Shermer is intentionally ignoring, completely not aware of or maliciously veiling a fundamental scientific principle. (I can not even say which one would be scarier and more pitiful) --- One has to investigate the unexplained and not explain the uninvestigated ---- But in Shermer's double-standart Inquisition-world, it appears alright to be contradictive to such basics and still being perceived "scientific". LOL What a dogmatic joke ....! :D
Back in Sept 1987 Reagan addressed the UN in regards to uniting the world against the ET threat ….and he actually had two 'experiences' with UFOs !
Dr. Halperin, thanks for the unique talk. I apologize but I must be going now. I'm due back on planet earth.

I could listen to David speak for hours. He fills, in a necessary way, a gap that was created after Joseph Campbell died.
He's interesting, but please, he's no Joseph Campbell.

Great interview. I bought David's book.
UFOs are real. All you have to do is interview Captain Kirk.
Let me guess, aliens are in our head, mystery solved, geniiiius.
