    I crossed pearl pass into crested Butte there I descended into keebler pass on novara road bike front back panniers and a backpack equipped with water bag. I knew there would be lots of river crossing and creeks were I could stop for refills
    told myself I wouldn't do this climb again. This year I plan to return and do it all over again ;)

    I remember riding a similar route about 7 years ago! We started at Aspen and rode through to Crested Butte. This video is making me want to plan another trip out there!

      It was real nice in August , now I assume there’s a bit of snow up there. Stay safe!

      I packed pretty light, but I also had a backpack. I'll do a video on bikepacking set-up with a full suspension bike hopefully soon.

    Great video. Thanks. Hey, what weight rod would you bring?

    • @BIKEPACKINGcom
      @BIKEPACKINGcom  4 года назад +1

      3-5 weight, small trout but the further you get down the valley the more versatility 5 weight is, just be aware of private land. 3/4 weight is all you would need for Taylor Lake, just make sure to get your CO fishing licenses before hand.

    Check the vid out at 5:05 and look at the front brake line and how it's nearly at a 90 degree bend against the handle bar pack.

      Yep, you are right. I’m typically pretty good about avoiding that. For folks wondering, this is not good thing for your brake line, but it’s also avoidable with the pronghorn and most other bags. Thanks Bruce2keys!

      @@BIKEPACKINGcom Sorry wasn't trying to be negative, it just caught my eye. Great ride, I enjoyed watching ! Thinking of doing this ride for the summer of 2021 with some tenkara fishing for added fun. Thanks for sharing the vid !

      @@BIKEPACKINGcom Do you have any posts on this (and other things to watch for when setting up bags)? Did my first few trips last year and was wondering what to do with cables. (Shock adjustments is another area). Thanks!

    what is this filming magic? you go from holding the camera to a helmet mount (?) without a pause and without a helmet mount it seems...?
