The music really added a nice touch. My local gun shop has a couple of these so I'm gonna have to pick up one of them. NO, it's not a "real" MP-40. It' doesn't have a "real" MP-40 price either.

Keep your hand off the magazine when firing. Applying backwards pressure causes failure to feed.

Well there’s a reason they specifically say not to hold it by the magazine. It was notorious to have feed problems when troops in the field held it by the magazine.

I got one and I LOVE it! Right after I ordered it from Cheaper than Dirt and waiting for it to come in to my FLL dealer, I seen several RUclips videos of the gun jamming and I was concerned about it. Well having fired several hundred rounds through it I have not had any issues whatsoever with it feeding or jamming. Shooting it for the very first time at 50 yards, my first round was in the X-ring, the rest of the rounds were either in the X or just outside it in the 5 ring. At 100 yards, I had to slightly adjust the rear sight to hit center mass. I would suggest getting the stock kit whenever ATI gets them in and go the SBR route with the NFA. It would make sighting in on your target so much easier. Now for just plain fun, holding it at waist level and plinking away is a blast too.
I think the problem is people wanting to hold it by the magazine. Holding it by the mag will cause feeding issues.
What ammo did you use?
Seen a couple of different videos on this gun now. constant issue is the double feed problem. Always seems to happen when gripping the magazine while firing. May be worth a look keeping that in mind.
I feed Remmington brass all grains all the time. Works fine.

Weld your charging handle into the bolt, cut the case with an aluminum zip disc so the whole unit pulls out thru the back, much better no more loose handle and ive had no issues with winchester fmj ammo

I just purchased one & it's at the gun sporting store, I can't wait to take it home , but because I live in the wonderful state of Maryland , number one I will half to wait 7 day's for background check , update my HQL card & fingerprints because it's considered a handgun, and once that is taken care of , than I must head to the gun sporting store in Gettysburg Pennsylvania to order the right Magazine's for it than go back up to pick them up when they arrive because Maryland has a 10 round restriction Magazine' law , unfortunately all law-abiding gun owners half to go through all of this to purchase handguns even though I own 2 other handguns already, but can not wait to take the MP40 home.

I never had a problem with jamming but after two full magazines, it locked back on me and froze up. Hopefully this is fixed easily after I take it down.
Why do you only shoot five rounds at a time?
The problem with it is the trigger gard on it its to short and because of that u can't rapid fire that weapon but u can make your own trigger gard and put on that and make it shoot faster and u will be able to bump fire a more easier

The reason there are no parts commonality with a real mp-40 is for legal and importation rules I believe. The US won't let them import them if they have commonality with a class 3 machine gun.

This is the second video in a row I've seen where this gun has major FTF issues. I literally had my check card out to buy one (it's a history degree thing) but now I understand why the Germans dug the PPsh so much.
It's because of people grabbing the mag. If you hold it near the disassembly pin or grab the magwell without hitting the mag release button, I don't think it will have feeding issues. I could be wrong though.

ATI ha a thread adapter which looks like it can be used for a suppressor. I will ask them next time I contact them.
why does this MP have no shoulder rest?
P123 so they can put a short 10" barrel on it. With a stock, it would need to have a 16" barrel.

Put a folding stock ( available now) and a leather strap you have a great conversation piece and almost a piece of history and it is not .22 caliber but .45 which can be hotter than the WW2 issue.
Just sent off the NFA form 1 the other week but I'm hearing that the approval time is now 1 -2 years ^$#. ATI is telling me that the stocks are just about ready to ship. I could do without the stock but damn, the MP40 looks naked without one.
I hope you didn't just say the mp40 is a 45., it's a 9mm

Would this just be considered a range toy plinker not a actual gun you could use for self defense?
It feeds hollow points and is built incredibly solid. The lack of a stock limits it somewhat but the forward magazine grip makes up for it. All in all are there there better choices? Probably, but I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of one. Go for it the intimidation factor alone is worth it.
Keep it clean, don't hold it by the mag, and it should be a decent pdw.

Be honest that particular MP40 is a jam o matic you can't get through a magazine without a jam !!!! Or the bolt handle falling off ... it's a good looks nice feels nice ...but it junk !!!!! Right out of the box !!!!

its a clone* lmao, bro i have two of these they both run way better than i expected, the only issue i had when failure to feed. is when i grab the mag. there is a video of a comparison of the original to this clone and it shows how really good this gun is. you sound like one of those boomer nerds lmao.
