Fun fact: The snare part to Paradido was performed differently now than it was about 11 years ago. The reason being that we had transitioned from our percussion instructor of 30 years to a new one. They had some of us write down the parts to the cadences that were up to that point passed down from year to year. The person who wrote down the snare part wrote the accent pattern the same the whole way through the first section where they play on the head when it had alternated originally. They also have the sixteenth note triplets section coming in too early. Brought it up to Varn and got yelled at for questioning his authority. Fun times.
Wish me luck, I’m about to go to Hoover high, I’m in 8th, playing the alto or Bari sax for marching band. Not sure, might not be able to play Bari because I’m going to be a freshman.
None of the snares can play with traditional grips because there grip is not anywhere near right and the quads sound like they have never been tuned. They also don’t know what grip to use, and I couldn’t believe how much dirt there was. Also couldn’t take my eyes off the guy to the right of center snare who wouldn’t keep his fingers on the stick.
I don't understand why University of Alabama can't play good sounding music like this. They play that same old hundred year old fucking cheesy tune they always play. And I've noticed most college bands don't have the good fun music the high school bands play. I don't know how to explain what I mean but College bands just don't sound good. And I hate the music that University of Alabama plays
I you’re watching this 3 years after you came out you’re a legend
Thanks!
