    What setting do you recommend for digital art to post to instagram? Would you use the same setting if you wanted to print your art?

    • @HazeLong

      If I m printing I use minimum a2 size.

      For posting on IG, I would always recommend to have the biggest you can possibly have, just makes life easier, you can always go smaller but you can't go bigger amd maybe you want to get something on a shirt one day you never know.
      So it all depends on the number of layers you need, I currently use 3000 x 3000 px just because that's the biggest I can go and still have a decent amount of layers.
      When you want to post you wanna export in png and remember, if you want to show closeups of your work you need to crop it before uploading the file into ig because the moment you put the image in it compresses and then you can zoom in all you want it will always be pixalated, so crop the image before and then it will look crisp :)

    Thanks for this tutorial. 👍 Do you know how to create multiple canvases under one file? Say you want to consolidate 5 drawings spread over 5 separate canvases so that you can view them together when you scroll from one canvas to another? Possible?

    Hello there!!! I need to know if you can help me with my concern. I need to make a drawing in procreate to print it in a size of 1 meter by 75 centimeters. but the app tells me that it is too big. there is no alternative in procreate to be able to print a drawing with these dimensions? Thank you!!

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  2 года назад

      So usually if I need to work on a large artwork I would keep the size the same but downsize the resolution down to 150 min. But for some reason, even if u change the resolution to lower in procreate it doesn’t affect the layer size. So what you can do is the other way around. Like in your case- change it to 50 x 32.5 cm, keep the resolution at 300. Or if it’s possible make a bigger size with the same aspect ratio.

      @Hazelong I having a similar issue with canvas size. I need a high res (for fabric printing) large size canvas 100cm X 80cm at 300dpi. If I produce a canvas size of 50cm x 40cm at 300dpi when the printers blow it up x2 to meet my needed size will the image be blurry? Thank you in advance

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  Год назад

      You have to make it at the size you want but export it as png or tiff. Jpg is really small.

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  Год назад

      But usually for large scale printing I was told that if I hit size limits then lower the dpi to minimum 150 and not any lower. This is still acceptable for print. However in procreate dpi does not really affect file size. It’s odd

      @hazeLong Thank you for your reply. I really wish procreate would allow larger canvases like other programmes do.. So far I’ve been producing my artwork in pieces and then saving and opening it up on the size canvas I need in affinity designer2, and then patching it together on there. However I really dislike Affinity as I cannot get on with the vector brushes.. Shame…

    Wait a minute! How do you change PPi to DPI in Procreate?? Mine has PPI by default and I cannot change it!

    • @sintay8002

      Forgive me if I’m wrong but I think they are the same thing?
      PPI: Pixel Per Inch
      DPI: Dot Per Inch
      Just verify though. I’m trying to figure out the canvas size for animation…

      @@sintay8002 ppi is for size printing and DPI is for line resolution on the screen.

    I have a quick couple of questions and hope you don’t mind to help….. I am just getting starting with procreate an I have most basics down pat but I need to set my canvas art board for 300dpi, 13x19 inches for shirt printing as I mostly deal with png files, so what is the best settings for what I need to work with in this app? I want to be able to print any size png file for any size shirt from newborn to 5xl. I made a design for personal use an it was only 5x5 in size once I pulled it in to my photoshop app to print. This why I need to now what I need my art board to design on bc I always 13x19 size paper an art board in photoshop …. Thanks

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  2 года назад +1

      You can try the same settings 13x19” 300dpi and then export to photoshop to test first. If the result is the same size then you can continue to use the same setting.

    Why do I have to pay to install it 😢

    • @nova-kiin
      @nova-kiin Год назад +1

      Because it’s an incredibly complete software, and it keeps getting updated for free every now and then. Also it’s a one time purchase of 9,99 bucks, once you pay it, it’s officially yours, which is really cheap for what you get, considering that most other softwares are a monthly subscription that you keep paying forever. Often the subscription is like 20 bucks monthly. So I think it’s worth it. But if you can’t afford it, I recommend Medibang for iPad. It’s free and it’s honestly not that bad, it has a lot (and also an option for paid subscription, but unlike other softwares, you don’t have to take it to use it), it’s also available on smartphones and PC.
