15,000 RPM - LEGO vacuum engine | NEW WORLD RECORD!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 мар 2024
- This weekend I achieved a new world record, just shy of 15,000 RPM with a Lego engine, no doubt it got up there at one point but my tachometer is too slow. Thankfully it didnt blow up but that’s because I only let it go for a few seconds. There was no friction damaged surprisingly so i didnt bother adding that into the vid but let me know if i should do a durability test.
Instructions are free when this video and thelast one his 10k likes combined.
You can find them and the parts list here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-1754...
Check support @LucasDynamics and see his world record run with no glue.
I’ve been working on this for a long time so y’all better not say I copied him😅
Nice one! The glue is a little bit cheat😏
But I will make a 3.0 version soon!
The glue was definitely a cheat. Can’t wait to see what you come up with mate🙌🏻
Would a stronger vacuum be a solution?
@@dsprings8565this is what I was wondering, are they using a cheapo vacuum or per say a higher powered shop vac?
it didn't look that scary on the video but it probably was hella scary in the moment. i would suggest a bent acrylic sheet over the engine as well as one for just cover to stay behind and go full beans!
Important Thing To Remember To Make A Very High RPM Lego Engine:
Lubricant And “Glue…?” 😅
It Reached Almost 15k RPM, Thats Fast 😮
Try to put that high rpm Lego turbo in the Lego buggati life sized and it has hp 😅
the glue is a bit cheeky - but the end result is very satisfying, so we'll let it slide
Looks and sounds great, I would really like to see what this thing can do in the future. I saw another comment where you said you didn’t open the throttle more because it was making some scary vibrations, maybe some way to balance the rotor would be good?
This is super awesome😁 i subscribed to watch the progress.
Dude you're doing this correctly! The way to achieve high rpm is air inlet at the periphery and exhaust out the side. That's how we achieved high rpm when we built our turbines in the 1990s. The tri-rotor you used it what it's all about. You know you've achieved LEGO Nirvana when you start shearing knobs off your lego. Well done man. You've figured it out!
naturally, I wanna see it go full throttle. lol
Keep up the good stuff man
not the craggle
💀
Yay its V2 unlike explosion from other
this is insane
🎵EVERYTHING IS AWESOME🎶
YEAHHHH!
This reminds me of making spin tops outta those Bucky ball magnets hanging them by one off metal above and hitting em with an air can. Things had to be going like 3k before they bust into 150 balls flying everywhere haha
YESSSS YOU DID IT! I KNEW IT
Reminds me of the A320neo engines spooling up in MSFS
hooray a 1 hp turbo
putting this bitch on my honda civic
So cool!!!
Same!!! Im so hyped up!❤
You dont need glue, you need to modify your design to remain legal
🤓
You think thats that easy?
@balintgalambos691 maybe not as pretty but definitely easy to build more structure around it
cool!!
ccan you do a super charger too?
This is a really cool turbine, but it isn't the world record. I don't wanna burst your bubble but I've seen a few hit 20k rpm in the tble server without using glue. This is a really cool turbine tho
you should attach a second one to the back and have the vacuum mimic the exhaust gasses spinning the axle connected to the other turbo spooling it up and creating boost
Now I want you to imagine one of the electric motors running out of 12 V going 40,000 rpm that enough to make a fan blade explode easily
in one of your youtube shorts i saw that u put the turbo on a inline 4 can u show how you atached it on the motor
Great job and fantastic build, I can’t wait for you to take this even further if you can !
You better try a lego compatible iron liftarm with bearing.
Yo ! I have an idea... a project ! Make a realistic car with a turbo, an engine etc... PLEASE !
Can't wait for the tutorial!!!
everything wrong with sound effects were great!
0:41 Well, it’s not the only way. You could also 3D print a rotor designed to spin at that speed.
can it be used as turbo in LVE?
Interesting
"BAD COP.. GET THE... KRAKLE!"
Can you make a something so I can build this myself, all of the stuff the engine and everything plz
Hey mate, you try balancing the rotor at all? How's vibration?
If you're gluing might as well start shaving parts
🙌🏻🙌🏻
make it go STUTUTUTUTUTU
This is a rotation based turbine, similar to the jet engine.👍
also when is tutorial + parts list coming out?
I have instructions and parts list available on my Rebrickable page:)
Unfortunately that's not the world record. I have 34k rpm on video with mine
Sounds like a hellcats supercharger
I wonder if someone can make a wind instrument with that.
A better solution to gluing would be finding a larger piece that's one part to replace the multiple piece rotor
Maybe someday. It’s not really a huge priority for me to have the world record, I just had a lot of fun making this😅
Cool turbo Now make a lego Blow off and intercooler!
Lego intercooler😭 how would that even work?? I like where your heads at
The Turbo alone Blew my mind!@@jmodsbricks
Nooo not the kragle 😂
I had to😭
Imagine if the electric motors went that fast like you can have a really small motor driving a big set of blades and it was just shred the blades
Jdm driver has been really Quiet after this dropped
remember the air here is still limited in the speed it can achieve... theres certain basic physics governing air speeds due to pressure differentials.
if one asked this turbine to do actual work, at max efficiency it would run at half the speed of the air flow...
and despite how it seems... the air is expanding, as it enters the lower pressure...
probably get slightly better results running backwards to this... intake in the center. like a normal centrifugal impeller... youre asking the air to flow backwards to how it wants to flow here. it wants to fling out, the air mass entering from the center... its that incoming airmass that does the work.
its odd. i have one of them little 250s that happily revs at 18K... the tacho doesnt even register below 4K.
yet i jump on a lathe and just 500RPM seems stupid fast...
Mechanics and engineers playing with legos
That thing is a jet engine on steroids
What if you merge that engine with lego I4 engine. And use that fastest engine as Turbo charger
Looks like a whistle
i was surprised when you said the blades were going over 100 MPH (4:01)
You used glue im not quite sure if that disqualifies you.
Meh, I had fun and came up with a completely unique design. I don’t really mind if I’m disqualified😅
fun fact: Lucas did not have the wr this other dude did with 14k rpm but you beat his by like 200 rpm I think
edit: yeah you beat the real wr by like 400 rpm but Lucas did not have the wr before you took it maybe next time do some more research
edit 2: the previous wr holder was Owen vansanten on yt
ya, i probably should have done a bit more research.
Like a real turbo it probably needed constant lubrication while spinning at such speeds
insane GJ
ah yes, nuclear reactor condenser is my next objective
How work the throtle ?
Just changes the amount of air that is allowed to pass through
can you sshow us how you routed it to the i4 and how it works, as well as how much it will do for the i4
2:20 don’t forget to lubricate the backside
This is not really official as the record was set without modifications right?
If you hooked this up to a vacuum and attached to a LEGO car. Would it make other go?
yes!:)
Literally no one :the turbines be like in Chernobyl at the disaster
Why do you use a gear reduction, it would be faster it was right off the axle
My tachometer only goes up to 2,500 rpm(not even close to 15,000) so I put a 24:1 gear ratio on the output and just multiplied the reading by 24
@@jmodsbricks oh i see
More of a reverse air pump no?
I tried building one of these and it blew up on me. One time completely before I decided to glue stuff. Then it melted the plastic shafts
LOL - lots of lube
Kraggle. Isn’t that the red shit Emmitt had on his back in the first Lego movie?
Ya😅 the forbidden
Fiat Panda turbo
I don’t have a video or anything to prove it, but i’ve made a 2 bladed one that hit 17k rpm
Bro trembling
2:06
Villager
try making it go as fast as possible without breaking it
engine tutorial pls
Instructions on my Rebrickable
i didnt realize thx
Why is bro naming stuff the wrong things 💀
There’s a few reasons for why I pick my titles.
1. It’s going to act as a turbo, it’s just not fully integrated yet.
2. It’s close enough and if I called it a “centrifugal pump”, less would click on the video.
3. It’s a Lego demo, It’s not like I can build a legit combustion engine with a properly functioning turbocharger out of plastic bricks
4. People who comment corrections are just boosting the video engagement.
I hope this makes sense:)
you can see how much you are shaking
😅
You should go full blast. That thing wasn't even half open
I was shaking. Thing is scary as hell😅
@@jmodsbricksMaybe try use pneumatics or a large string to pull it out? so you can be further away
@@user-pu4py3zk6c I gotta do that a rig something up for the tachometer. Then I could just start it and leave the room
@jmodsbricks but that's the fun of it
This is not an engine ,it's a turbine they are not the same thing
all these past wrs are technically turbines. how else are you meant to make it
Who cares still cool
@@GXVoid116 like he made them before? His older projects where engines
what you mean with pistons? yh fair enough but pistons never gna get world record for rpm bc too much mass. the past recent world records were all like this one
Vacuum
Just make the rotor out of technic it's stronger, don't use glue
I did try that but the spacing wasn’t quite right
I might have just broken this record
I was wrong its hard to break records
Keep trying, I believe in you🙌🏻🙏🏻
Got a faster one now :)
WR is at 31k rpm atm
Who did it
E
Where can you find the world record?
I saw a video on another channel. I linked him in the description
Hi😏
^^^There he is
Actually its guy named Owen Vansante, he went to 14k
ruclips.net/video/B4JVRNg4_rU/видео.htmlsi=AaSkxIf9tlORUiCu the old so called record holder
NEW RECORD ONLY WITH LEGO (no other substances involved no glue at all)
😅
Im up for it
Try silicone lubing it! Just run it slow and spray in the intake and where the axle comes out, you'll break 20k!
I know you won’t change the name but please don’t call this an engine this is a turbine there is a major difference. A turbine is only an engine if it is being used to produce thrust. Otherwise great vid good luck with your next venture. seriously tho don’t use false terminology. :)
good
Congratulations my friend you did it! How does it feel to break that record!
I did cheat a bit😅
@@jmodsbricks good JOB can i get a shout out?
Do you mean using the glue on the impeller? The way i see it you did what you had to because little plastic lego bricks were never meant to be spun that fast much less endure those levels of G forces.
@@jmodsbricks
not a wr
maybe that was never the point but at least he reached his objective and I think that is admirable to me.@@TwistedEngineering
Plis make a tutorial pls pls pls who want a tutorial click thumbs up
I have a full on instruction set on my Rebrickable
just empty the vacuum
It’s a central vac, not really that easy
Хочу туториал
Just watch the video of him making it and boom. Tutorial
Oh yea i watched it the turbine went 💥boom
U gotta try and make the smallest Lego vacuum engine and put it in a sports bike
Using a worm gear probably increased the friction a lot.
Perhaps also try finding a metal rod instead of the plastic ones.
æ🔥🗣️
Now, make it faster!
Maybe some kind of gear overdrive?
that looks like a turbo
When I called it a turbo, I got like 100 comments says that it’s not a turbo😂😭
@@jmodsbrickswell it actually isnt a turbo, its a turbine(there is a pretty big difference there)its just a small mistake but try to be more accurate next time
@@TwistedEngineering it’s half a turbo, the backplate is a stud reversal adapter so a can attach another mirrored build on the back and pump air.
Why are you being so critical anyway? Have some fun mate, the distinction between turbine and turbo is really not that important for a Lego video🤷🏻
Sane here
Next: please do FULL SPEED
I’m scared bruh😂 Lego at 100mph will do some serious damage
