If the heads were swappable between the two figures, I think 1.0 could rock the IDW head pretty nicely.

I'm sure you've figured this out by now but, the legs do lock in both in the tank mode and microscope mode. It takes some force(less if you have everything aligned just right) but they do lock in nicely.

@16:41 The legs do clip how you have them, but they are super tight. One side clipped in just fine but the other I thought I was going to snap the leg in half if I tried any harder.
Can you use idw heads on original preceptor? The stylized body shape would work well with that look
There is a way to lock the legs. I figured it out on my copy. It’s a very tight space between his knee pits.

You said there was a lot of improvements from v1 to v2 "Tesla", but you didn't seem to go into detail, unless I've already forgotten. It would've been nice to get a side-by-side comparison of all the improvements from the previous model.
Just seeing them side by side you can see the improvements. I did side by side comparisons in each mode.

Good review. A quick question though, the promotional pics show a red connector piece / hinge between the square chrome part on the ab section and the top of the groin (where it looks like a capital 'U') which isn't present in the review - possible factory mode mistransformation?
No, its actually part of the transformation, not a neccesarily step though. But if you do it youll be robbing yourself of a waist swivel just to get a red square on his crotch. Its down to the priorities
It's an optional piece that makes him more cartoon-accurate

Oh man I thought I had paint chipping on the legs. How many times have you transformed him prior to this video? I have only gone to microscope once and cried a little.
It has been sometime, how is the paint on this figure now?
@@antonb348 I have more chipping on the legs and arms. How ever they applied the blue was not good. Fanstoys sent me out replacement parts for what was scratched. But they are not different than what shipped with him. So when I know I will not want to transform him again I can swap out and he will look new again. Not sure when that will be I like to transform my figures a lot.
@@TheWickedOne5150 thanks for letting me know, I’ve nearly gone for the plunge a few times and he’s still available. But I also like to mess with my figures.

I've seen another RUclipsr use the knee joints to get the clearance to tab legs together then bend the knee back. You should get better results.
Without the dials on the arms and the microscope on his shoulder I think he looks like Orion Pax.

Trademark rights since its not an official Hasbro/Takara product, so 3rd party figures has to be called something else when they are getting sold. They get away with it becasue most 3rd party stuff is aimed for collectors, and its not that much money to gain in it and gives Has/Tak time to focus on other things
