The VH-92 has a more distinctive sound over that VH-3! However, all Sikorsky choppers do have that distinctive pitch that all sounds similar, but even then, each chopper still has its own sound! It's like a sound with in a sound, if that makes sense! I thought I was the only one who knew each military chopper by its sound, but as I see here, I'm not, lol! We are wrong every once in a while, though. It just depends on how close it is. You can tell much better when they're close unless it's an Osprey, a Super Stallion, or a Chinook. Those three have their own sounds that you can't mix up with any other chopper, especially the Osprey!

My theory on why they haven’t used the VH-92a for White House airlift operations is because they are still trying to resolve the issue with the heat from the exhaust damaging the grass around the landing zone. Had a conversation with a family friend who is the head of aviation division for a large oil company that operates a fleet of S-92’s and says they take a long time to startup and are extremely loud compared to other helicopters also they put out a lot of heat during startup . He’s curious if and how they will modify it to resolve that issue as am I.

The WH has had a fence up for over 200 years, but nothing more than what you've seen on TV most days. The Capitol has a small plywood fence up over the construction area for the inauguration platform, but it doesn't extend around the whole building at the moment. Fences go up and down for big events in as little as 12 hours so they can pop up if needed.
