The Proposal | FBC Archivist Season 1 Finale

- Mr. Door said that there are many worlds. Some on top of one another, some side by side, and some inside one another. Dylan Faden had knowledge of the nature of his world. A game. That there was a world outside where we the player were playing his story. The barrier between fiction and reality are thinner than we realize.
Many Altered Entities exist throughout the world of Control. Ahti, Mr. Scratch, and the Not-Mother to name a few. There are plenty more yet to be uncovered. The Internet is a world of its own with its own ecosystem. We are all visitors here, but what would an entity native to this world look like? How would they perceive the reality of a world made of 1s and 0s?
Having watched the Oldest House from inside the wires, the mysterious entity finally reaches out to the Archivist to make a proposal.
Here is another Argus File and the Season 1 finale of Archivist.

9:12 "BEFORE YOU LOSE *CONTROL* ."
They did it! They said the thing!
I said it! Haha
I'm glad to find someone just as obsessed with Control as I am! ❤️
Absolutely obsessed with it haha
I came expecting SHÜM Arcade Cabinets, I was not prepared for how SHÜM this would be.
For real, when plain text on a screen is this compelling, you're doing something right. Great work, everyone.
SHÜM Arcade Cabinets will be the first part of Season 2! Some other changes on the way.
This guy obviously doesn’t have much faith in Jesse Faden despite her not being like Trench or Northmoor. She cares about the people, and doesn’t care much secrecy. Everyone knows about the Foundations now as well as the agents and the section that disappeared there. If Jesse knew about the man in the wires, she’d want to help him, assuming he can be trusted. He’d know that she wants to bring a new era of transparency to the Bureau.
Dude has been stuck inside there for over 30 years. So yeah he probably isn't thinking clearly. This scene takes place probably within a month or so after Jesse became director. In that time he witnessed the hiss invasion, mold, the foundation and the Shadow entity. Not much to inspire a difference of opinion. Despite none of this having to do with Jesse.
@@GamingUniversityUoG The entity inside the wires may be all seeing, but they are still just one being, a former agent of the Bureau to be exact; At the end of the day, they are still one being, only able to persevere events one moment, one place, at a time.
My guess is that this person in the wires has only seen Jesse in the briefest moments, probably pre-judging her because she is the director. Why would she be any different from the others that came before her.
Instead they decided to focus on the Archivist who's over all rank in the Bureau is much lower than Director thinking they could probably be more easily trusted than the Director..
Remember, this entity already determined that everyone that knows about the house "must vanish". Directorial access to open the doors? But which ones, hmm?
As you say, the man in the wires would likely know enough about Jesse to ask for help...assuming that's what he really wants. Also assuming that he was actually paying much attention to Jesse.
Maybe it met Jesse and they did not see eye tot eye. As one with power, but that power is knowledge. No one to teach that knowledge to the frustration builds..... till you are fired/ banished by the directors with one call.
"Follow the white rabbit."
"Hey! That is my recording booth. The one for the other guy is down the hall on the left."
"Oh shit. My bad."
Outstanding work! It has been a joy to watch the first season. I'm amazed how natural this fits in to the world. The whole story could be a side mission or the plot point for a dlc. I hope someone at remedy knows about your project. Can't wait for more!
The goal we set out to do is have this fit in without interfering with the canon story in any way. Self contained but fits into the logic of the world.
Gotta say, that was very exciting finale. Kudos to all of you!
Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you all have been enjoying it. It is so far outside of our wheelhouse but I think it turned out well.
This is phenomenal work. Than you to all the team that made this possible. I guess we'll see you soon :)
So good to hear you've been enjoying these! There will be a short break but we'll be working to improve the quality and play around with me ideas during that hiatus.
WOW, just WOW. I have no words.
Hey Ilias! Sounds like the finished product came out well
@@GamingUniversityUoG hell yeah it did!
So many thoughts. First of all Thank You! As a fan of Remedy Games going back to Max Payne, Control is by far my favorite remedy and personal favorite game period! The way you keep this game alive after 3 years is very noteworthy and deserves praise from Remedy! Sam Lake needs to hire you! Amazing work!
“The *House* Shifted.”
Love that House of Leaves reference
I've really enjoyed this series and all of the hard work and time you and others have poured into it.
I've played and completed the game and DLCs a number of times now, and one of the takeaways I always have is that CONTROL is the "X-Files" of our generation and would work as an amazing streaming show.
I've heard rumors of some developers looking to pickup Control as a tv series. I agree. It is the current generations X-Files or Fringe.
An absolutely amazing finale to this amazing series! I really cant wait for the next one! Truly a work of art.
Thank you so much!
Love your videos.
Had to come back and watch after hearing remedy signed an agreement with 505 games to co develop and co publish "CONTROL 2"
What a lovely surprise. Never trust a disembodied voice in the oldest house…
You think they would learn this lesson by now
Now theres a cliffhanger! Amazing production value!
Thank you! Great to hear. We've never tried something like this so it is great to get feedback.
This was awesome, thanks for all the work put into Control!
My pleasure! Cant wait for the sequel
Well, another AWE we go in.
New one that should reopen AWE 18 since they are very similar
What a special ending to one of the best series I've watched ?!!!... this is phenomenal work
I really wish there was another series affiliated with it...
Thanks for the hard work... and always excited for what's to come 🔥🔥
took me way too long to realize that *house* was being written in blue.
Little easter egg if you're familiar with one of Control's inspirations
I loved that detail!
10:22 I'm not sure which reference to make here; "UH-OH! BAD DECISION, MARK!" or "I'M SORRY, DAVE."
It was in the moment he realized, that he had fucked up
the fuck.....that took a turn.....
That's escalated quick lol
Phenomenal work from everyone. 👏
Thank you! All four of us have been going nuts to get this wrapped up. Goad it is finally doen and out.
I've been listening to this season of the archivist at work mostly while performing my mundane duties. Unfortunately, I'll have to watch this one as a few minutes in I realised I was missing something haha
Haha yeah a lot of this goes back to the Argus files and the journal entries that went on the linked blog. Going to make it all easier to follow for season 2.
@@GamingUniversityUoG haha no wasn't that it's that if your listening blind to this with earbuds etc all you can hear is the keyboard typing and sound effects you need to see and read what's on the monitor as not all of its narrated, have been enjoying these tiding me over until we get some more AW2 news which feels like forever now!
this is so amazing
Thank you so much! I'm glad the finished product ended up well
@@GamingUniversityUoG Yeah! I really think you would do well doing a couple scp videos with SCP's that fit into the same sort of vibe that control gives.
Interesting, very interesting
Glad you enjoyed!
You know, maybe I'm biased because I'm not trapped in cyberspace, but offering mysterious communications and threats and promises to any employee of a place that was just invaded by paranatural entities seems like it's just making the sale harder.
At this point the reaction is maybe more like: "Welp. Another day at the office. "
One thing we tried to play around with is the cabin fever the employees must be experiencing. I mean they cant leave. No natural lighting so S.A.D. comes into play. Any opportunity to get out would probably be jumped at.
This looks like it would work well as a DLC. 😊
Thanks! We have tons of fun working on these. Just need to write it so it doesn't interfere with the main plot in any way.
This was an amazing finale
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed how it turned out.
He feels very similar to SCP - 079. Manipulating others into giving him high level access. 079 used it to escape. I wouldn't be surprised if he would as well.
"Produciton" :(
This is amazing. Typos pop up and slap me in the face though.
This came out awesome!
Thank you so much! It is great to hear the finished product came out well.
Bro This is FUCKING amazing
Thank you! We've never tried anything like this. I'm glad you enjoy the finished product. .
This was really cool
one of my personal Rcu headcanons is that the two Tron movies and the spin of show Tron Uprising takes place in the same universe as Alan Wake and Control
and that the Grid is just a diffrent treshold of exsitence humans can influence through computers
and as i have said before Argus reminds me alot of the Master Control Program from the first Tron movie
So in my headcanon interpitation the whole world inside the wires thing is just another name for the grid seen in Tron
The Emergency Call Summary aka AWE-18 involves a lady calling into 911 and claiming she is stuck in wires. So this whole thing already has precedent in the canon of the game.
@@GamingUniversityUoG im aware of that document, its fascinating of how many rabbit holes the Rcu has insnt it
and i just really like the idea of Tron existing in the same universe as Control
and the grids exsitance would make sense considering the whole some worlds are man made thing
Argus is sketchy. I hope Ian and the guard make it to report on this breach
We'll have to wait and see
Curious that such potential for more stories and content, yet all Remedy done was those two DLCs...
(I don't think any of the planned stuff they announced translates to more DLC or a Control sequel, does it?)
No Remedy has been very open about NOT having more DLC. They are hard st work for Alan Wake 2 and Project Condor. Control 2 is in pre pre production. More in the concept phase.
@@GamingUniversityUoG What I meant was stuff like inFamous First Light. (figured they'd go down that route but I guess not)
Also, I didn't mean to say that Remedy isn't open about their plans.
If the thing in the computer can’t let anyone know it exists, why wait to warn Ian Gibbs until the last moment? That and what if Ian did escape successfully, how is the thing in the computer safe from being discovered? I have so many questions.
Ian Tuttle*
Agent Gibbs was an Agent in the department that transported to the Foundation during a House Shift, that's why Argus mentions him.
And as for the second part, I am not the writer, Dean is, I have my theories but Thats a question for him to answer if he sees fit👀
Defund the FBC!
I'm sure you wouldn't mind that mr. Bless!
@@yellowbat79 It's time to end the disastrous War on Altered Material. think about all the lives that have been lost, the BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars gone down the drain, and it hasn't done a thing. #LegalizeAlteredMaterial
The sad part is I'm sure there is a movement in the RCU for this. Mr. Bless step away from thar surfboard
Yes, yes, all very well and good, but did they say yes, and if so, when's the wedding? Do you have a gift registry online? I would like chicken at the reception, please.
When do it come back?
Currently getting the artwork/voicework done for the premiere as we speak. First episode is already recorded and being edited.
@@GamingUniversityUoG *squeal*!!! (By the way, I adore your content!)
Seems like the man in wires wanted to take over Ian's body. He asked for directorial access and perpetually convinced him as to why he should go against the bureau despite the shift in management with Jesse being the new director. If he can see everything he can see the work Jesse has done for the agents and the bureau. What if this entity could program AWE's that can only be started/perceived by the user on the computer?
