  • Mr. Door said that there are many worlds. Some on top of one another, some side by side, and some inside one another. Dylan Faden had knowledge of the nature of his world. A game. That there was a world outside where we the player were playing his story. The barrier between fiction and reality are thinner than we realize.
It is well known that the Mail Tubes inside the Oldest House send mail to other realities. What if they ended up here in our world? The following files were discovered inside a familiar orange Tube at my local Credit Union. I'll be documenting the contents in this Archivist series.

I’m going with an Occam’s Razor explanation as to why it was left in the open. If contact with the object raises confidence it can be assumed Bless was overly confident that nobody would steal it and thus left it out. Prolonged use could easily raise confidence levels to an unhealthy degree, affecting rational judgement.

Possible motivations for "The Power of the Board":
    1) Bless is working with the Board, and the speaking tour was to afford them more power by making them a bigger focus of collective psychic energy.
    2) Bless is working against the Board, and trying to alter their nature by changing the public understanding of what "the Board" means.
    3) Bless is working against the Board, and the surfboard is an attempt to siphon the Board's power. In the popular psyche "the Board" has strong connotations of power, but he's trying to redirect that energy from the archetype of the controllers of an organization into his surfboard, leaving the Board weaker.

Thank you for adding point #2. I'd like to append to that there's a good possibility that Chester Bless and The Former could be collaborating (Bless seems ambitious so I don't he'll allow the former to control him so collaboration feels the right word to describe this possible relationship) and working against the board, which might explain why he's immune to the Board's influence. need to study Dr. Ash's history with The Former more i think. and the board

@@GamingUniversityUoG It's very possible the Blessed Organization is another puppet or cat's paw of the Board. Since it's becoming clear they can't control Jesse, they may seek to release Northmoor to have a Director they can fully control again.
I would note that Northmoor did voluntarily accept being put in the NSC;Trench was more distrusting of the Board, but also had psychological hooks that made him easy enough to control regardless. The Board accepted Jesse more or less out of necessity, but once the crisis is cleared they may be looking for a more suitable puppet.

If the board increases confidence, than Bless had the longest exposure to it. By leaving it behind intentionaly, two possibilities present themselve:
      1. The FBC is part of his ambitions. This is the most likely scenario.

@@GamingUniversityUoG This world is both confusing yet fascinating! The mention of the fact that the Jukebox is a possibly created O.O.P is so fascinating! I do wonder what the Blessed Organization end goal is, especially in relation with them illegally selling Altered Items. I do think that Chester Bless may have left the Surfboard on purpose because I don’t believe that Mr. Bless would unknowingly leave behind the Surfboard, especially since he had some knowledge on the Surfboard’s influence, and with his slight connection to the Blessed Organization, I find it hard to believe that Mr. Bless would leave it on ‘accident’, and while he may have panicked and abandoned it if he knew that the FBC was onto him, I just don’t think he would leave it behind without some motive behind it, but that’s just my theory.

Those are actually good questions. It makes you wonder if the surfboard came to him or did he create it on his own.
If the surfboard came to him that kind of supplies evidence that the surfboard could be linked to the board or former and wanted to hypnotize the mass public for some major gain/reason. (That could be the reason why the former(s) is no longer apart of the board.)
But if Mr. Blessed created the surfboard then it sounds more like he had a personal goal intended when creating the altered item. And if he does technically have that knowledge to create altered items then what really stops him from making a bunch more and baiting the FBC.

My two cents on why Bless left the surfboard behind is that it wasn't worth keeping. For an altered item, that thing is pretty useless and the self-help gig would've been hard to continue after it drew the FBC's attention.
