Wonderful! I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. So sorry for myself. But here I am watching you two adventures and I find a smile on my face. Thank you!

I am an ancient motard, and have just recently purchased an electric scooter. It's an Easy-Watt retro (I love retro Vespa scooters.). I agree completely about how “nervous” it feels off the line. But with practice, I have gotten used to it. The silence is both good and bad. I love the ability to talk, but it is almost dangerous for pedestrians, animals, etc. I suspect in the near future there will be some sort of noise-maker to warn of your arrival. In any case, enjoy!
Good choice. No more smelly petrol for you . Clever choice of music ,Vesper by Martin landstrom . Sounded like music used in “ carry on films “ ? Very enjoyable, more please .

That was a fair distance you covered on your test drive.... I think Mr Boos biggest concern was running out of charge... do they make a mini power pack that can be carried under the seat?
I'm glad Mr Boo is going to have a new electric toy to play with. You said the petrol on is about 400 Euros cheaper, however the cost of any vehicle is not just the price you buy it for, the fuel also costs money. I can't imagine a 50cc moped would use much fuel, but when you add all the fuel across the entire life time of the moped, it'll add up a bit, maybe more than 400 Euro's?
@@MeandMonAmi Also maintenance costs to take into account (oil/oil filter changes, coolant, valve clearance check, transmission oil, air filter..). It all adds up pretty quickly.
That's it rub it in. I have had to give up my scooter. Due to old age problems, my scooter was a little bit bigger than Mr Boo's. It was a 600cc and I had to get a full U.K. bike licence. I passed all 5 of the test's first time passing the last one 4 days after my 64 birthday. I had a good 6 years.

Got my girfriend a Silence S02, we got an AMI for fun and I drive a Tesla for long journeys however I must admit that the AMI in town, so 95% of the time, is a LOT more fun. But now, summer is coming, the Fiddle3 (SYM) 125cc is getting on so we changed to the Silence S 02, that one does need a license though but there is a 50cc Version I think. Thing I did not like at all with it where the non hydraulic brakes, very very bad if compared to the Silence brakes, you stand on the dot. I am concerned that as a pedestrian (sometimes) the lack of sound emitted from all electric vehicles is dangerous. This should have been addressed a long time ago.
It's probably too late, but with the regular motorcycle e-bikes you can get cargo bags to hold all your gear and wash, and you have a better ride with bigger tires to boot. Watch Itchy Boots on RUclips to see what she carries on her continental journeys. You should have test drove a regular e-cycle.
Sorry, I can't agree with that statement. While they can hear you if you are filtering down the line with cars stopped at the light (and even this is debatable), cars are very effective at insulating drivers from their environment, and that is without counting on people running their music, chatting with passengers and wind/road noise. As a motorcycle rider, I definitely do not expect people to hear me. I usually outrun the sound of my bike anyway. Heck, even ambulance and fire truck sirens can only be heard at the last second sometimes. So all in all, I think an electric scooter is not necessarily more unsafe because it is quiet. I'd suggest it actually is safer, because you are more aware of your environment while riding it, and might catch onto a car/pedestrian/bicycle close by, which you would have otherwise missed. Anyway, congrats mr Boo, I'm sure you're going to love it. I ride my ebike in town 90% of the time and have a blast!

"Stop and go?" Priceless! Oh, no, it's not priceless. It costs 2,674€. But you two are RUclips Influencers par excellence. Surely they'll give you a deep discount for the free advertisement?
I'm not convinced about the longevity and reliability of an electric scooter - the current one is 9 years old and could probably be sorted for a few Francs, however even a new 50cc is half price and sips petrol , not exactly a gas guzzler- no contest ( IMHO).
As it has a removable battery you can just buy a new one it case it goes south. However, these are not your typical cellphone batteries and last a lot longer. Just make sure the batter is around 80% charged when you store it for a longer time period.
@@MeandMonAmi sorry about the grammar I was never very good at school with being dyslexic and didn't have the same help as kids do nowadays. I love watching your videos and always look forward to seeing a new one 👍
Thank you, on behalf of all the pedestrians, cyclists, and everyone else who will have one less petrol scooter pumping out incredibly annoying noise pollution! 👍👍👍
You should factor in the environmental cost of mining the rare earth minerals for the batteries . Often done by children in the third world . Anyway , when you take away the feel and sound of a real motorbike , you remove it's charm and its soul . Electric is just about ok for delivering pizzas I guess .
I say NO, dont buy it. I have been using an electric scooter (250W) since June 2018 (nowt it is April 2023). Of course, it is only a city bike. You have to make plans in charging it. It is not cheap to maintain it, because batteries do not last more than 3 or 4 years. So, I have calculated what I have spent for electricity + the cost of a new battery. The result was that it costs almost 9 euros/100kms. This is too much. Electric scooters are good for towns where there are no uphills. It consumes (just like a petroleum one) much more energy uphills, but with a much slower speed than a petroleum one. I use mine only for very short distances (around 10kms/week) and it is ok for me, but still... I say NO.
Wonderful! I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. So sorry for myself. But here I am watching you two adventures and I find a smile on my face. Thank you!

Interesting. With eco bonus etc this only worked out €400 more
It’s all about the range with electric motorbikes..
Here we go..
Hope Elton doesn’t sulk too much
Don’t want want to go breaking his heart!
Trust you two to go for a FIDDLE! 🤣🤣🤣
It’s a very odd name!
when does mr boo get his new bike
7 days!
7 days
"Stop and go?" Priceless! Oh, no, it's not priceless. It costs 2,674€. But you two are RUclips Influencers par excellence. Surely they'll give you a deep discount for the free advertisement?
Sadly nope!
Go green Mr Boo👏💚
Think of how much money you will save on petrol.
Circa €800 a year we think
why is Mr Boo so called? Please tell us all!
I have no idea! We call each other Boo but in one video years ago I added Mr and it stuck!
@@MeandMonAmi super-polite!
Feet holes?
I'm not convinced about the longevity and reliability of an electric scooter - the current one is 9 years old and could probably be sorted for a few Francs, however even a new 50cc is half price and sips petrol , not exactly a gas guzzler- no contest ( IMHO).
€800 euros a year in fuel..? (And the garage said it was not worth repairing again..)
As it has a removable battery you can just buy a new one it case it goes south. However, these are not your typical cellphone batteries and last a lot longer. Just make sure the batter is around 80% charged when you store it for a longer time period.
Electric! Go electric😀
Go for the Niu,much better than sym scooters
He’s had a Sym for 9 years so didn’t want to shift brand..
So you have a electric car and now a electric bike I hope you don't get an electric chair lol
And an electric bike!
I certainly wont miss the noise!
You should factor in the environmental cost of mining the rare earth minerals for the batteries . Often done by children in the third world . Anyway , when you take away the feel and sound of a real motorbike , you remove it's charm and its soul . Electric is just about ok for delivering pizzas I guess .
And the noise and pollution?
I say NO.
Interesting. We shall see how he feels about it in a month..
I'm surprised it lasted that long that Chinese low quality steel
It did surprisingly well. But was going to cost a bomb to repair
@@MeandMonAmi better climate than the UK, I found it impossible to get parts for my brothers Chinese scooter.
SYM are based in Taiwan, but source a lot of parts, from China, they also have factories in China
Don't fall for the electric scam
I’ve had e bikes since 2003!
@Me and Mon Ami got sucked in by the scam way back then aye... Im sure you had the best intentions😅
