I get super excited when you review fragrances I love or am interested in trying. You’re perspective and expertise have helped in many of my purchases. You’re definitely an asset to us normal fragrance lovers. I recently picked this up and wore it for the first time yesterday and got a compliment from a gentleman from a different crew. We were outside and he was over five feet away when he told me he liked the fragrance. So even after 6 hours it still had great push off my skin. As always great review.
Got to admit Aaron, you are my go to guy for mens fragrance, thank you for the perfect break down of these fragrances in detail...every Guy has different needs from their fragrance, and as such levitate to a particular brand and stimulus their products give off. Top Man. Look forward to more from you.
It doesn’t matter what you review, I will always take time out of my day to watch. I have Ombre Leather EDP and is very easy to wear. I get a very well balanced leather/cardamom vibe from it and checks all the boxes for my personal taste. I sprayed the Parfum version on the back of my hand not too long ago and is on my birthday wish list! Cheers to you and the fantastic content you provide for us!!!
OMG. You are spot on as always! I just received mine, and it’s gorgeous! It’s what a man should smell like. Masculine, yet, softening tones to make the fragrance seductive, a little enigmatic but approachable. It’s a 10 for me! Yum!
Agree, bought the ombré leather Parfum today and sprayed the tester on my right shoulder while I sprayed the elixir’s tester on my left and hell yeah these two are competing and can’t choose which one is better. I smelt so expensive earlier today LMAO
These two were my entry into designer/niche fragrance world. Both fragrances are for people with matured taste. TF OL Parfum and DS Elixir are cologne juggernauts, love them!
I prefer the dry down of Ombre Leather Parfum over the first release. First you get hit with Leather and gasoline and then minutes later the florals come out! I remember falling in love with this fragrance at my local Sephora. When i first sprayed it on me it didn't make much of an impression. But once the fragrance settled on my skin i was addicted.
@@JeevanArora I've heard that in Nordic countries they have similar policies. You're not supposed to wear noticeable fragrances at work. It's considered rude and unprofessional.
I really appreciate this one. As you say, old school Tom Ford! I was wondering how you would react to this based on your recent reactions to this house! Glad you like it!
I always learn something each time I watch your videos, Aaron. Ombre Leather does seem to be the most satisfying fragrance of the moment. I agree that there's a lot of movement and this makes it very versatile in my view, especially in this current temperature. I also agree that it needs a touch more elevation and I achieve this by experimentally layering a mist of Jazz Club by Maison Martin Margiela. The raw materials seem to blend reasonably nicely for my nose.
I bought a bottle of Ombre leather from sephoria in September but it does not say whether it is a parfum. BUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, I cant imagine it getting much better... Every single time i spray it on i get either that "look" when someone smells me or an audible compliment
I have this one in the collection now. I liked the EDP but not enough to buy it. This one has a cotton freshness which makes it a lil more versatile and that’s made me buy it.
Hey Aaron. I wear this almost daily as a layer on top of Thomas Kasmala no 4 EDP, and that combination has become a compliment monster for me. You should try that layering! I swear it's such a good pairing. In fact, if someone came up with a single fragrance that encompasses thst combination, I think it would be a serious hit. I get a constant space filling lift from the no 4 with the jasmine and leather close proximity brilliance of the tom ford... It's so good. Like, seriously, you should do a video exploring that layering. I have been chased down a dozen times by people wanting to know what I'm wearing, and that hasn't happened with any other individual fragrance I've tried.
Just bought this in the trial size 10ml. Fantastic fragrance! I was just curious what you’d meant regarding the allergen effects of some of the ingredients early in the video. Keep up the great work!
Another fabulous review. Cogent, expressive, and knowledgeable- you make a great teacher. Thanks for helping me learn about one of my two favorite fragrances!
I bought Ombré Leather Parfum just recently, I do agree that I wish it had just a smidge more projections, but as Aaron mentions it’s does that “Parfum” things, it doesn’t project but does produce a nice waft of silage when you move around.
@@AaronTerenceHughes already marked it on my calendar 😉 btw. I just found my favorite fragrance from Initio besides Side Effect, it’s called Blessed Baraka, tbh honest Oud for Happiness was underwhelming at first, maybe I’ll get to love it later on, but it you want to review an Initio go for Rehab, Blessed Baraka or Psychedelic Love, easily the best from the house besides Side Effect🦄
I love this one. It’s slightly sweeter than the original (I think this comes from the florals) and the leather accord is gorgeous. Amazing review, thank you ATH!
I consider myself as parfum aficionado…nothing serious…the first time I smell black orchid.. I was like..who in the right mind would consider to spray this on … but searching on videos I found yours..at first I was scratching my head thinking this is odd..later you say something that makes o lot of sense…people wear fragrances to please other people not themselves… and you are right…I was buying fragrances to please other people…long story short I own daring perfumes that I like and enjoy, and yes , black orchid is in my collection…thank you!!!
Like many mentioned, I bought my 10ml a year ago at Sephora( discounted before xmas, they always discount their fragrances before xmas) . Loved the original Ombré Leather that I also have in 10ml. I can’t really tell the difference tbh but I couldn’t care less. To me I have 20ml of Ombré Leather and it is exactly how I want to smell to myself and ppl around me and/or intimately. . You mentioned at the end an ingredient that gives harshness to the fragrance and I agree that it has something harsh but in a nice way. Similar to Fahrenheit while smelling completely different beside the amber, maybe?
Dear Aaron, I am among your most devoted followers. I now purchase samples just to follow your journey and learn. You’re brilliant. I am a huge fan of Ombré Leather EDT and Tom Ford fragrances in general.. It’s dark, approaching your (charmingly admirable) ‘Filthy’ designation. In the Parfum, I cannot get past the violet leaf. Your nose is vastly beyond mine, but as a learning amateur, the violet leaf and jasmine is appallingly forward and overpowering. I cannot even pick-up the leather. Onward. Thank you for edifying me. Warm regards.
love this review, waiting on my ATH Homme order too !! I do think, and its sad that Tom Ford diluted its value in parfums as a brand w some subpar releases, but Ombré Leather is very nice and priced well
I've only been interested in fragrances for a year or so. Even so, I was very confused from the beginning by the explanation that the differences between EdTs and perfumes, etc. lies mainly in the concentration. Why wouldn't I then be able to just spray more of the EdT to get a perfume? The way I understand it is that the concentration is a side effect of the formulation, because the slower the fragrance molecules dissipate, the more you can put on without getting overwhelmed by the smell. Kind of like targeting a certain amount of reps in weight lifting, which means choosing a weight that lets you do that amount of reps, not just counting the reps and then you're done. The reps are a side effect. The whole concentration narrative is more confusing than helpful in my opinion.
Higher oil less alcohol = longer lasting (typical Parfum) Higher alcohol less oil = greater projecting (typical edt) The actual oils being used can also change the longevity. Some oils scents naturally last longer than others. More sprays doesn’t always equal longer lasting because the oil may not be that potent. Think of eating and your taste receptors. Some food can be very sweet and then the taste fades after a few minutes while sour foods last a lot longer. Even if you eat 3x the about of that food the residual taste will fade in around roughly the same amount of time
@@sebastienc.2257 Unfortunately you've gotten things mixed up here. If higher alcohol less oil = greater projecting, then you can make any fragrance project more by diluting it with more alcohol. Obviously this won't work because projection is actually based not on alcohol, but on the volatility of the aroma chemicals used. Aromachemicals with high volatility (evaporates faster), will jump off your skin more and more will hit the nose making it feel intense. Citrus has high volatility, for example. Someone peeling an orange an a room can fill the room with that orange smell because of the nature of the aroma chemicals from the peel. Whether a fragrance lasts on your skin is based on three main factors. 1: How much you have on your skin. 2: Whether it is on exposed surfaces on your skin. 3: How heavy and volatile the aromachemicals in the fragrance are.

If you like thick dense fragrances, I think you should try Triumph of Bacchus from Argos. It's got a Red Tobacco vibe but with a twist. If and when you get a chance. I love your take on fragrances. So insightful.
Love Aaron and his reviews and perfumes, and I especially like his attitude, which (for me) can be summed up as "not reading the rest..." . Not one to make statement based t-shirts but if I was then this would definitely be on it. Might be giving Katherine Hamnett a bell!
I’ve never tried the OG Ombre Leather but I bought a 10ml of the Parfum like you did and I really like it. It’s nice. Makes me want to try the original one now.
Sprayed the EDP and the Parfum 1h ago. The EDP opens with a stronger leather accord than the Parfum. The Perfum has a slightly softer and less potent leather note opening. The dry down is faster on the EDP than the Parfum. The Parfum has a less aggressive openig compared to the EDP but the dry down is more constant. The EDP dry down smells like I’m sitting in an old timer whose leather is in good condition. So the smell is more an old fashioned one. The Parfum dry down on the other hand smells way more modern. It has a warmer and wider smell. Maybe slightly powdry / woody. The EDP has a more linear smell. Lets see how it smells after 10h.
OOHHH aaron! My missus got me ombre leather for my birthday (edp) it's really lovely for the price, I've just dug it out as personally I think its a good cooler weather scent, smells lovely in conjunction with my leather bike jacket.
Masterpiece by Tom Ford, think this is the most handsome and safe Leather scent to use on a Date, a very mass pleasing Leather scent that most women would enjoy, unlike something like Vespero or Babycat, which are more polarising.
Brilliant man! Lots of moving hands 😅. Personally I like the EDP bit better, for me the parfum starts leather and moves and ends leather all the way through. The EDP evolves and changes and I like that. So sexy on my lady friend But really I have no idea. Just know what I like, love. Love your work!
I find you so interesting to listen to mate! Such in depth and wholly detailed descriptions on scents, how they work, why they work and the names of everything that makes a scent up! Fascinating, just fascinating Aaron! Keep up the good work.. so professional, too, actually! That’s what I love about your content 😎 I have both TF Ambre Leathee edp & Parfum. Personally I prefer the edp over Parfum, but the Parfum works so much better on my skin, give a flowing, silk scarf in a gentle breeze effect as I move about. Edp simply because of the memories I have associated with it, as my Mrs bought me it as a gift. Thank you 👍🏼
@@miguelcardenas2413 Not really. Both have different uses if I’m honest, and for me, I use edp for nights out as it projects way more than the Parfum (at least on my skin it does!), where as with the Parfum version I can carry this scent of throughout the day as a daily use scent as it sticks close to my skin and isn’t as big a projector as the edp (again, for me and my skin). Have you got either one?
@@78chriswhite I do own the edp one of my newest acquisitions and I have sampled the parfum twice for me the parfum is more focused on the fruity side and the edp is more on the modern sophisticated leather .
@@78chriswhitewell also building a collection for myself and I’m trying at least not to buy redundant fragrances. Im only getting one fragrance for line unless any flanker of said fragrance is really worth and no something redundant example I own Sauvage edt and I also own sauvage elixir. On the le males I own ultra male and I’m not planing into get another one of them I also own spicebomb extreme .
For me the “leather note” is more apparent in the edp - that new leather jacket smell, you know? Where as with the Parfum it’s more on the subtle side & more floral, it reminds me of Parma Violet sweets, do you get that? Also, I have quite a modest collection of fragrances that I’ve built up over several years, but I’ve whittled it down to about 60 or 70 odd at the moment as I’ve just sold several that I’m not into. Overall, though, I’m 43 years old and I’ve been obsessed with fragrances since I was at least 6! This is down to my dad and his collection of 60’s, 70’s & 80’s Mens aftershaves! Some really good one, and some [mostly cheap] like Brut, Old Spice, Insignia! The latter being his daily work frags! His “night out aftershaves” included Paco Rabanne pour homme, Calvin Klein Obsession, Ralph Lauren Polo & Aramis so you can where I got started! Like you I’ve got Sauvage edt, that’s just a dead easy to wear, daily for me when I’m at work. I’ve had a sample of the elixir, though, yet I’ve still not managed to buy it as I’ve spent so much on my latest editions! I’ve been obsessed with Tom Ford & Parfums De Marly lately! Just bought PDM Layton Exclusive and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver + Neroli Portafino Acqua and I Love Them ❤️ I also want to add PDM Percival, but not until I’ve purged a few of my older “freshies”! How do you find Sauvage Elixir works for you?
I quite liked this one too. A nice change from the original Ombre Leather EDP which smelled like beautiful leather, but not much more to me. So much more depth in the parfum. You might like the new fragrance that’s coming soon Ebene Fume - the price point is lower and it’s a lot more different evocative of the Tom Ford golden age. Wait for the 10ml to launch (I hear) at the start of December.
Are there any clones, for the ombre leather parfum one? I also was wondering where you got all the notes from? I usually use fragrantica, but according to what you said there is way more materials in it. Great and lovely video btw!!! I really love this longlasting good parfums. Wanna know more about them.
First time when i try this perfume, i can already smell its for my skin because its fresh and nice after you spray on the skin. Every perfume has some personality for “somebody” so its not for everybody, people’s really find themselves a perfume who really suit them for who they are ☝️
Hii Aaron, so is it contains real jasmine? I couldn’t figure it out.😅 By the way i love your work and reviews, you are the best, keep going and i wish all the best for you.
Hi Aaron love your description of fragrances. I was wondering if you meant that the perfume concentration has a better sillage than EDP from what you said at 11:36. Also, is that a general rule of thumb, with exceptions of course, for perfume concentrations compared to EDTs and EDPs?
Hey Aaron, I was wondering whether you subscribe to the idea that you should wear darker heavier fragrances only in the colder weather or if you would just say to spray less if you live in warmer climates? I much prefer those types of fragrances generally and am quite bored with the "freshies" that are mass appealing unfortantely where I live is generally quite warm and humid. Do you have any suggestions for interesting darker broodier fragrances that can also be worn in hotter climates?
I ware my Luna fragrance if I want to feel amazing. It’s dark and heavy. But I do have very light fragrance for the gym. You should ware what you feel like!
I live in Singapore where it's hot and humid all year round. I wear Fahrenheit when I feel like it. I'm glad Aaron agrees to this too, don't feel too alone in this. Most ppl segregate fragrance by seasons, which I don't feel like a good thing, especially if you're on a budget.
Ombre Leather turned into a feminine leaning fragrance. As a straight guy i prefer the original EDP, but if you're a woman that loves or wants a great leather frag in her collection or a feminine guy, id recommend it. Reminds me of that period of music in the late 80's early 90's where people were rocking leather jackets. Think MTV music video vibe...lol It's good, just redundant vs the original EDP, but i mean it is a true flanker, they took the original and built off of it just a lil bit more by adding a couple of notes to turn it fem, including making it more female-fragrance musky. It's a bit more stronger too vs the EDP, but not by much. The EDP smells like a linear frag that you would use to layer with, this new Parfum version smells more like a frag that can stand on it's own as there are more notes added to it making it a complete perfume. Basically, it comes down to what do you want in the fragrance of your choice from this line, in order to make your decision between the two. 3.5/5 Woofs! *Excellent review Aaron!
Actually straight lads like more unisex leaning fragrance. Gay lads like super masculine smelling. That’s why my range is changing. Most of my customers are straight men!
@@AaronTerenceHughes I'm so sick of basic stereotype of male fashion & perfumes, im constantly trying to push myself to expand into more feminine notes to smell next-gen and exciting. Sometimes it's all about how your personality rocks a frag to pull it off to make it work for yourself. That's one of the reasons why i like Ombre Leather EDP, i can wear a more feminine leaning frag and use Ombre Leather EDP to masculine it up an little bit for my straight personality type to pull off.
Thank you for your honest & detailed insights Aaron! So happy I discovered your channel earlier this year. Looking forward to sampling your work in the near future.

@@AaronTerenceHughes Good to know Aaron. Perhaps I stick with the Parfum. I like the touch of Orris in the Parfum. So nice.
@@asl333 thanks for the insight! I think I’ll snag a sample of the EdP.
Have this as one of my winter signatures, the wife isn’t keen but it’s exceptional imo.
Hi Aaron, I would love to hear your opinion on Ferragamo Intense Leather EDP. I chose it over TF Ombré Leather. 😃
THIS is my signature fragrance 😍
Love your videos sir!
I‘d love to see Orto Parisi’s Cuoium reviewed next so we get a leather to leather comparison
These reviews hurt my wallet 😭😂
Brilliant man! Lots of moving hands 😅. Personally I like the EDP bit better, for me the parfum starts leather and moves and ends leather all the way through. The EDP evolves and changes and I like that. So sexy on my lady friend But really I have no idea. Just know what I like, love. Love your work!
You are awesome !! Whenever I want to blind buy something i'm searching the videos from you !
Brilliant video
I prefer (and bought few days ago) original Ombre Leather.
I bought a backup bottle of this because it’s so good and I want to wear it all the time haha
The edp has better longevity and projection
I find you so interesting to listen to mate!
Such in depth and wholly detailed descriptions on scents, how they work, why they work and the names of everything that makes a scent up!
Fascinating, just fascinating Aaron!
Keep up the good work.. so professional, too, actually!
That’s what I love about your content 😎
I have both TF Ambre Leathee edp & Parfum.
Personally I prefer the edp over Parfum, but the Parfum works so much better on my skin, give a flowing, silk scarf in a gentle breeze effect as I move about.
Edp simply because of the memories I have associated with it, as my Mrs bought me it as a gift.
Thank you 👍🏼
Do you find it redundant owning both ??
@@miguelcardenas2413
Not really.
Just bought PDM Layton Exclusive and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver + Neroli Portafino Acqua and I Love Them ❤️
I also want to add PDM Percival, but not until I’ve purged a few of my older “freshies”!
How do you find Sauvage Elixir works for you?
Just bought the givenchy enflammé and i love it. Perhaps you could do a review?
10/ 10 for me.... fragrance for life.
This version of ombré leather is one of my favorites as well!
Picked this up a few weeks ago and I love it
What you meant to say is isobutyl-quinoline, I suppose. I love this aromachemical and I have already asked you about it, so I know you do too!
6-sec-Butylquinoline; IBQ; iso-Butyl Quinoline; Pyralone or when I buy it it’s SEC BUTYL QUINOLINE.
Very exciting. I shall Ofcause review it
Are there any clones, for the ombre leather parfum one? I also was wondering where you got all the notes from? I usually use fragrantica, but according to what you said there is way more materials in it. Great and lovely video btw!!! I really love this longlasting good parfums. Wanna know more about them.
First time when i try this perfume, i can already smell its for my skin because its fresh and nice after you spray on the skin. Every perfume has some personality for “somebody” so its not for everybody, people’s really find themselves a perfume who really suit them for who they are ☝️
I'm 20. Just realized the power of scent yesterday. The way it can even affect not only how others feel about you but how you feel about yourself!
this is the best perfume i ever smelled
Hii Aaron, so is it contains real jasmine? I couldn’t figure it out.😅 By the way i love your work and reviews, you are the best, keep going and i wish all the best for you.
EDP is way better IMO
I like the other ombre leather and I didn't have the chance to smell this one... Now I want to smell it even more!
Think MTV music video vibe...lol
It's good, just redundant vs the original EDP, but i mean it is a true flanker, they took the original and built off of it just a lil bit more by adding a couple of notes to turn it fem, including making it more female-fragrance musky.
Hmmm straight guy you say? We got Fresh meat girls!!!!
@@effinyu9554 lol :P
@@ChescoYT I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal. I wear whatever I want to wear. Unless you’re a little insecure
Thank you for your honest & detailed insights Aaron! So happy I discovered your channel earlier this year. Looking forward to sampling your work in the near future.
I loved the drydown of this fragrance. Looking to pick it up in the future.
