    One thing I've noticed as an American: a lot of former and current NASCAR and Indycar sponsors have joined V8 Supercar racing in the past few years. If this trend says anything, people and sponsors are catching onto the marketability and excitement of the series. I love to see it!

      And people wonder why people think he is dangerous. Imagine with the pace he had where he would have been at Bathurst, or in a couple of these incidents, as he is able to race through the pack.

    Man 2022 was a harsh year in terms of crashes. Just goes to show the safety of these cars with the fact that there were no serious injuries and everyone walked away relatively okay.

    These were some heavy hits.
    I think Neil and Mark were harsh on Zane Goddard, just a rookie mistake which he’ll learn from.
    The Jack Lebroq and Scott Pye crash at Perth, yeah Jack could of lifted however he is entitled to racing room. Scott did squeeze him to the edge. I’m sure there is a rule if there is any overlap between cars, you’ve got to leave racing room unless you got spun from the B piller back. Oh well the boys were racing hard, at least Scott walked away from that shunt.
    That Gold coast incident was chaos, I’m fine with kerbs, even though theres been some serious accidents from other categories from the sausage kerbs over seas. The tyre bundles didn’t help either. Maybe lower the kerbs and use pollards instead of the tyres. Even yet the sensors. Do 3 kerb jumps, drive through or 15 second time penalty.

    I disagree with the notion in the Pye crash at Perth that the other driver should hit the brakes, Pye has to leave a space and not run the guy out of road, yes the other driver could brake, but none of it happens if you leave a cars width, which you should.

    For 4:40 Curbs are fine but these dam soussage curbs (Orange/Yellow) need to be banned. Making so much heavy collision in 2022. F1 Gt3 Races and here. This can be avoided and cleaner races could be driven without such a mess.

  • @SirDaffyD
    @SirDaffyD Год назад

    That Bathurst crash was big. But as I see it, he was in a no win situation. He was on the wet grass. Hitting the brakes would've slid him in the wall. I think most drivers would've done what he did & keep momentum and try driving out and avoid the wall, but a combination off momentum and wet tyres were a recipe for disaster once he hit the bitumen again.

  • @jacobarratoon8144
    @jacobarratoon8144 Год назад +5

    Skaife way out of line on the Pye crash. Can't dangerously block when there's an overlap, it was a bit of really poor driving from Scott unfortunately but entirely his own fault. If Le Brocq lifts because he's illegally blocked he's vulnerable to getting overtaken by the next guy. All worked fairly in the end.

    The crash at the bend there was nothing randle nor heimgartner could do in enough time before the impact, the car's anti-stall kicked in and sometimes in most touring cars, the engine does not start back up for another 10 seconds, nothing heimgartner or randle could do, brilliantly both drivers walked out with a sore back and nothing else but that which is good.

    I am sick of the "NASCAR" effect on Australian motor racing. Safety cars are a blight on racing... and two car teams can deliberately toss a car to the gods in order to bring the "Safety Car" out, and to benefit their other car. Australian Touring Car racing is almost as boring as Yank oval track racing these days.
