Yeah, he would have totalled the car in front but it would have been far less dangerous. Easy to say from a keyboard and screen than when you suddenly have no brakes at 250 km/h

It’s a traditionally a road… you’re not supposed to be able to overtake on the mountain, besides the start (up to ‘The Cutting’) and then end (past Forest Elbow).
Next time you make a compilation like this, please don’t replay the same clips from like 10 different angles. It’s a few second crash don’t drag it out it makes it so repetitive. Great clips tho (:

I cant believe that these editors did not show Van Gisbergens pass on Mostert from more angles or in slowmo, or any comments about it, 260 kph bumper to bumper and pushing himself past is one of the best overtakings I seen, ballsy clever and cheaky a the same time, its at 5.20ish but passes so quick so if you did not see the race you will hardly notice it... sucker editors...
