- Episode 545. This Coffey Malt is a unique whisky and if you enjoy butter and vanilla cream, I would certainly chase this down! As for Nikka from the Barrel? It's hot, oaky and spicy. And I love it! Share some thoughts if you have had these. #nikka #japanese #whiskyneighbour
I agree with you that the Nikka coffee malt is unique on the shelf. I get chocolate and a real creaminess. Delicious stuff. 🥃 cheers
Hey Jon! Happy Saturday and thank you for trying Nikki coffey malt. I think this one is a good summer dram. I get over ripe tropical fruit (banana and pineapple) note on this one. I also heard that they are using malt from Ben Nevis distillery. Cheers!🥃
My wife bought me the Coffey malt for my birthday this year. Typically with more expensive bottles, I try to make them last as long as possible.
I've really enjoyed Nikka Coffee Malt. Thanks for the review.
For my bourbon palette I prefer Nikka Coffey Grain over Coffey Malt. Nikka From the Barrel is smokey vs Coffey offering, is good, but not fan of smaller bottle volume.
Love the FTB. Cheers Jon!
Use the Nikka Coffey Malt as number two in a flight of three. Start with a soft Irish or Scotch like Writers Years or Glenfiddich...have the Nikka and then close with anything peated. Perfect flight every time. I've done the research 😅
I have tasted both and (for pretty much the reasons you gave: buttery versus hot) I bought a bottle of Coffey Malt, but not From The Barrel...
Hey John, thanks for the video I love Nikka distillery I haven’t tried the coffee grain but nikka from the barrel like you said is hot, but so good I also like Nikka takasuru pure malt as well as the nikka Yoshi.
