    Your videos are the most informative and helpful of all the ones I've been watching. I love that you show every stage of development for propagating new succulents. This newbie is very thankful. Keep it up!

    Hi there! Thanks for the video, it was very informative. I have a question, though. I tried to propagate my cactus the same way you showed in the video, and though it's been weeks, it hasn't formed new roots. It did grow new pads, however. Should I just wait it out? Thanks!

      Hi Pat, yes wait a little longer. Some grow pads first while others grow roots first :)

    my cactus had new pads but they were very narrow and long, i removed them. Now it seems growing new pads butr very small yet, so how can i make them thick and wide like big pads? thank you for the video

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  5 лет назад

      Hi Jan Hanuko. Thank you for the comment. You can make the pads thick but exposing it to sun more. How to do it? by acclimation. Please watch this video how - ruclips.net/video/FHh5ZZuI--I/видео.html

    Hi, how come the new babies on the old pad grows long like a toothpick instead of short and thick pads? Did i do something wrong?

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  6 лет назад +1

      nursiah md noor hi, thank you for watching. They will be pads when they get bigger and when they are exposed abundantly to sun - helps pads fatten up :)

    • @MsNursiah
      @MsNursiah 6 лет назад

      Mine seems to grow longer instead of short and fat. The pubs are even longer than the mother.

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  6 лет назад +1

      nursiah md noor that means they need more sun. Try exposing it to more sun longer. This will not fatten up the thin pads, but this will grow new fat pads

    Hi. I live in a dark apartment and I use grow lights (LED that is red/blue). how long should I put my pads under the lights for and when should I start?

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  5 лет назад +1

      You could start using it after a week or so but it should be lit indirectly. It would be great to mimic the natural sun exposure like 8-9 hours when it is fully grown like 6weeks old or so.

    When you remove an ear from the Mother plant to propagate, will it grow a new one in its place?

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  Год назад +1

      yes, it will grow a new one somewhere on top but not exactly the same place

    Hey, I live in a tropical region. What soil mix would you recommend for succulents? I am an absolute beginner. I currently have coco peat and vermicompost and old untreated soil (which I might sterilise as per your video). Thanks

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  6 лет назад

      Hi Denise Thompson, I'm still working on this video about soil mix, but a general rule, it should be a fast draining soil. When you water it, water should drain down the pot fast enough. There's no really absolute mixture for this, you can mix as long as you have part that holds nutrients like soil and part that makes the mixture drain fast. You're good to go :) I'll update you when this video is done :) Thanks for watching!

    Hi, Can you tell me what time of year I can propagate bunny ears cactus? I live in England.

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  6 лет назад

      Hi Mandy Wilson, thanks for watching! :) It can be propagated anytime of the year indoors provided they get the heat and light they need. It's best during sunny weather or not too cold weather on outdoors

    • @mandywilson4157
      @mandywilson4157 6 лет назад

      Thanks for quick reply,can I ask what temperature you recommend indoors for propagation?

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  6 лет назад

      Mandy Wilson , this is something I need to experiment on but the general rule is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit :) The hotter the better

    Hello, my bunny ears rotted and I took my friends advice and instead of just letting them callous over, I cut the bottom with scissors. Do you think they will still callous over or am I wasting my time?

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  5 лет назад

      Hi Paul Dabek, yes if you cut away all rotten part, they might be able to survive as long as it is long enough to supply its needs to survive. Long enough means a pad or more. Half a pad is shorter than needed so it has 50/50 chance

    hello mu bunny ear is getting tilt due to its length ... it is about 7 to 8 inches long ... i hv given support to it but its giving weird look plz suggest to grow without support...

    • @succulentsforbeginners
      @succulentsforbeginners  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Anugrah masih, I think you are doing the right thing. Support is the best way to correct tilt problems temporarily and fast. I would also suggest to tilt your cactus away from the sun, this way it will lean the opposite way. Try tilting your pot until you get the shape you prefer. You can then remove the support ones you attain the shape. I will do a video about this in the future :) Thank you for your comment.

    Hi! I potted my bunny ear pads almost 6 weeks ago, they have rooted but they still haven't grown new pads :( Do some take longer to grow than others or do you know whether I'm doing something wrong? Thanks!
