Nice to see that people are still talking about these. I have the older SRPC35 model and it definitely gets a lot of wrist time. I must say the SBDY looks great too with the red dial text and second hand. Thanks for the video
My green mini turtle also had the gritty crown. But after about a dozen times setting the watch (I frequently rotate watches) it's super smooth. I put a MiLTAT bracelet on mine, which is definitely a step up. However their bracelets and clasps are usually full of sharp edges that I need to smoothen out. I've gotten pretty good at this using (finger) nail buffers with 400/6000 grit sides. They work great and are a fraction the cost of those Bergeon sticks.
I was able to snap one of the non-JDM model SRPC37 on my recent trip to Thailand in an old AD who had some uncirculated, new old stock Seikos, for below retail price. Still can't believe it. I have tiny wrists and this watch wears perfectly (even though, of course, is still a big watch, not a dress watch) thanks to the short lug-to-lug distance and small dial. The crown action in mine is also terrible. At first I thought I was not screwing it in and out correctly, but it seems to be a common problem amongst mini turtles.
Both will be similar but I think the SKX013 will be a better fit if you want something small. Honestly it's really a toss up between which design you prefer.
Everything about this watch is great except for the gritty crown . I’ve experienced this with some of my Seiko’s and don’t know if you’ve ever tried using dental floss to clean the threading tube . It actually works very well. One thing I’ve noticed about gritty Seiko crowns is it only seems to be an issue with made in Japan Seiko’s.
Hi mate, I don't have that one unfortunately 😟. However, I reckon the SRPK29 will be a good fit if you're after a small dive watch. The build quality will be similar to the SSK003 that I reviewed. The other option would be the solar powered SNE573/575, which is also 38mm. If you have a small wrist, I recommend going for whichever version that comes with a bracelet. Seiko's rubber & nato straps tend to be extra long and big to accommodate the bigger wrist sizes.

Thank you for the comment and also thanks for watching 😊.
I have this exact same model and fits my small wrist just right. Swapped out the bracelet for a black sailcloth strap and it’s perfect.
I got mine today and I love it! Your review is spot on. Thanks.
Nice watch. Thanks for the review! 👍🏻

Thanks for sharing. I was looking for an aftermarket bracelet as well, but couldn't find anything with female endlinks 😆.

I have the Padi Pepsi mini turtle. Pure class
Thank you for the comment. That is a very nice watch! 👍
I used to own one of these and it was perfectly fine - but it’s not a patch on the slim turtle which is much more refined and wears better
Thanks for the comment 😊.
The glass is Hardlex. Great review! :)
Thank you 🥰.
I have small wrist. Plan to buy diver watch lug to lug below 43mm. Only these two models in my list
Sbdy085 or Skx013 ?

Thanks for the tip! I'll make sure to give it a try.
@@watchcrave I used a waxed dental floss 👍🏻
Hey Andy, could you do a review of the smaller version of 5KX (SRPK29)? I am also in NZ and in the market for a dive watch for small wrist. 😀

Where can I get a bezel and bezel insert to fit this watch?
I'm not sure, sorry. I suggest googling something like "mini turtle bezel" 😉.
Does this watch have a screw down crown?
Yes, it does.
I have this watch, it’s gorgeous, but the bracelet is very poor
Yeah, the bracelet can definitely be better.
