Man UNC was lucky it wasn't 30-10, they got completely dominated. Tech had a dropped touch down, one reversed by a toe, a fumble in the redzone . Left at least 13 points on the field.

I don't think it was just the crowd though. I think Virginia Tech is better than a lot of people thought they were going to be too. If you can beat NC then beating Miami and Pitt and winning their Division isn't too far fetched. The only game on their schedule I think they'll for sure lose is a Non Conference game against Notre Dame.
As a Sooner fan, the Virginia Tech atmosphere had me pumped. Great defense and determination. They also had the power of Metallica on their side. 🤘. The commentary had me rolling lol.

Yeah with the way this game went, North Carolina was lucky they were going downfield to try and score and tie the game on the final drive, rather than trying to make it a 17-34 losing effort instead of a 10-34 one.

Agree with the fans returns. Enter Sandman was awesome! I honestly don’t see this as an upset. UNC lost their top 2 RB’s and WR’s . Howell is good , tho didn’t look great today, but he can’t do it all by himself. Thought the #10 ranking was way off base and this proves another cakewalk for Clemson to win the weak ACC.
Anyone with common sense knew immediately that North Carolina's #10 ranking was a joke the minute the rankings came out. This game proved us all right

Howell was getting blown up on read option passes where the offensive line needed to protect for maybe 1.5 seconds. The UNC offensive linemen were like turnstiles. Don't know who their offensive line coach is but if I was him I'd be worried about keeping my job.

@@Badbandanaman VT isn't any better than UNC. They went conservative before the end of the first half with 1:47 left on the clock. They couldn't capitalize on UNC mistakes. UNC got right back into the football game. VATech started fast but ended up fizzling out. We'll see what ND looks like on Sunday..

ND always has good O linemen idk if its 4 new starters a one is a freshman, if he can beat out the upperclassman at the most important offensive position then that says something there, and then we finally have healthy wideouts... not to mention Keys and lorenzo styles. This game will be 42-14.. I'll be shocked if ND gives up over 21 against FSU. Mayer, Austin, Lenzy, Williams and Tyree all on the field at once.. one of them is gonna win a matchup if not most, even when some backups play like Keys or Styles or some other talented TEs and RBs this Offense has the potential to be very good. But like you said. We will see tmrw, cant wait. Wish it was today lol

The way they were talking him up, you would have thought he already won the Heisman twice already and had the number 1 pick wrapped up.

I watched this entire game. North Carolina deserved to lose. Should've not been ranked in the top ten from the beginning. Virginia Tech pulled a stunning upset tonight.
Howell running for his life
Seeing folks coming for the UNC o-line, and I get it, but I got some questions about UNCs receivers. Howell held the ball for a while a few times.
It was a stretch in the highlights where UNC was calling designed QB runs. Easy to say it was to slow down the rush, but I also think the UNC receivers weren’t getting much separation.
When Bud Foster was the d coordinator at VT, the corners were basically bump and run all game with some off man sprinkled in for cover zero situations, and the front would do all kinds of exotic stuff.
Doesn’t look like much has changed with Justin Hamilton taking over.

How frustrating is this game for unc. First off, for Sam Howell the interceptions consisted of a tipped ball (not his fault), a perfect pass that his receiver allowed to be stripped away (again not his fault) and then a ball that actually was a not a true interception (because the defender never actually had control of the ball). And of course being under duress all night and sacked like 7 times must be infuriating. But hats off to va tech for bringing the heat.

They had no reason being in this game but I blame the coach for the loss u got 3 timeouts min left u don’t call a timeout u make ur team rush to get the ball snapped resulting in the interception so good job coach not burning a timeout at the 30 yard line with min left great job using them on the defensive side of the ball when the pick already sealed ur fate
Tarheels never were a number ten ranked team to start with. To loose that much offense is a steep hill to climb. The defense only allowed 3 points in the second half. Thats a good start. What in the world they were thinking about at the end not using timeouts I don't think they carry over to the next game. The O line looked awful but Carter and Williams had alot to do with that.
