The most important part of this game imo was ND holding vt to a field goal when VT had achieved the one yard line.
ND let va tech march down the field at the end of the half for a field goal. that field goal made it that much of a tighter game.
Bruh how my ND squad suck this year but still grinding it out and flexing on these haters...Luck or skills, ND still kills!! Ha Go Irish!!!!
You can't really suck if you're winning, man, and our Irish only lost once so far, to a higher ranked team. This team is playing on New Years Day at least. (Probably at most, too, if you know what I mean, but once Pyne or Buchner have this season under their belt, whoever wins the QB competition next spring, _we_ win.)

The offense has been downright sloppy this year. I blame most of that on an inexperienced O-Line. But by God, there's no quit in these guys.

ND needs to figure out their QB. I thought Tyler looked good early but made two boneheaded throws, one for a pick 6. Coan doesn't have mobility. Can't believe a top tier D1 football program can't get a 5 star QB.
Buckner was 5 star at one point but he had his senior year wiped out by Covid.

I'm a lil salty how #75 for the Irish held/tackled #45 for VT to the ground and no penalty was called. But none the less good game.
Whomever is editing this needs to do better. The end of this video was not done well.
It feels very choppy just starting abruptly with the first major play and not showing any pre or post game footage.
@@Knightmessenger I can live without the pre and post game fluff. What bugs me is not seeing how a team suddenly is 50 yards further in a drive, or back-to-back redzone TDs from the same team.

First good game by the OL all year and it comes after inserting a LT and LG that don't weigh freaking 285lbs. The communication looked way better to. Keep pushing that forward and we'll be fine. Coan doesn't have the pocket awareness to play behind a bad OL and Buchner is still a frosh and will make mistakes like one so I don't think we can just roll him out there and pray.
Great point .. also I think Buchner can throw but he needs to improve his footwork and stop throwing bullets every pass/add some touch to the ball

Since we've got a Bye this week I would honestly make Buchner the starter, build the offense around him and develop him into the QB we need him to be for the next 2 year's. The rest of the schedule is mushed doodoo. If we need to run a Georgia tech offense in the meantime then so be it
Can Buchner not pass? All he seems to be able to do right now is run.
@Psalm 39:4 Why is it other schools have true freshman who can throw the ball right out of the gate? Look what the kid at Oklahoma did against Texas for instance. Kelly doesn't know how to develop QB's and is stuck on playing veterans and not freshmen unless they are can't miss prospects like Jaylon or Kyle.
Tyler came out the gate showing he's got an incredible arm. If Kelly knew what he was doing or how to develop and transition his quarterbacks then Tyler would be the ace in the hole.
He has everything you want in a a quarterback.

If you watch his videos he's a stud and his numbers speak volumes.
In the blue and gold game Tyler was the only one who played a perfect game out of the three quarterbacks.
He was the the first and only one to score not 1 but 2 touch downs.
Drew Pyne is a decent well rounded QB but doesn't have anything close to what Tyler does.
I promise... Give Tyler til the end of the year and he will look completely different. ONLY PROBLEM WILL BE FROM THE COACHING STAFF.
(THEY HAVE TO DEVELOP HIM AND BUILD THE OFFENSE AROUND HIM . Once they do that and once they get the offensive line under control and get them squared away, we will actually be a strong team!!
Hands down we need some work but Tyler is the future of this team and exactly what we have been missing
I feel like coan can throw he just needs to work on his release/pocket movement and just be more confident in his keys, but has some great traits, I see all the ND hate but hey wins a win and you have to respect that box score for what it is at the end of the day

Good win for the Irish, BUT where in the world in the world is the running game? What's concerning is that the O-Line play has dipped this year, if they can rediscover that, they will be back in the discussion for the playoff. Realistic goal for this team is a New Years Day bowl game.
Sad thing is there is a lot of talent on the offensive side but a bad O -line and instability at QB have made it very mediocre at best.

Yeah... I think this team pulls it off against USC, but doesn't have any blowout wins. I feel like we miss the guy that _should_ be QB2 in New Orleans a lot more than we thought, and Pyne and Buchner need more seasoning before one of them can step into the slot.

(Though honestly I'm glad Book is getting clipboard time. Bring him along slowly and he'll be anywhere from Frank Reich to Joe Flacco.)
