It's honestly pretty sad. I'm hoping Pry can turn their football program around, but it looks like it's going to take a lot of time for that to even be a possibility. I really don't have high hopes for the Hokies at all this season

They go from the Michael Vick led Hokies, losing in a wild National Championship game against Bobby Bowden's Florida State Seminoles, many years ago, to losing to this team. Please, losing to the Old Dominion Monarchs is an embarrassment. How the mighty have fallen.

#23 I believe his last name was King was really the one that showed up. I’m not a VT fan so idk much about their team but he looked like a very good all around back. We saw strength, speed, elusiveness, involved in the receiving game and that blitz pickup he had early in the game was absolutely beautiful. Respect to King he has a bright future.

This is a typical brent pry, game on the line, last posession defense. It happened countless times at penn state
VT is a completely falling off the college football map they keep making bad coaching hires they’re recruiting has tanked since Beamer.
Fuente left the team in the dumps. Pry will need a little bit of time to fix that. You have to admit the defense looked great, and if you take away the interceptions the offense could’ve put up a lot more points. The interceptions were deadly. The penalties will be much easier to clean up.
@@ast5482 I’ve always rooted for VT I have a lot of family in West Virginia but I’m a diehard South Carolina Gamecock fan Shane Beamer is getting amazing recruits to commit to us this year y’all should’ve hired him over Fuentes. Y’all need to start Jason Brown at QB watch our game against Florida from last year he’s not a great practice QB but he’s definitely a game day QB. I was a little harsh with my comment I definitely miss the days when y’all and Clemson would play and it would be a really big match up because I hate Clemson.

We knew we'd be terrible this year (and maybe a couple more years) after the Maryland bowl game but this game was very winnable....the turnovers, penalties, futile offense and that 10 point swing on the blocked FG. Good for ODU making the plays at the end to win the game....congrats.
Virginia Tech was lazy all game. Players looked tired and out of breath on many plays. Hands on hips, and dogging it after each play.
@@stephendacey8761 That -10 point play on FG was the weakest attempt I've ever seen to recover a fumble and botched FB snap/catch. Defense folded at the end. 4 interceptions and tons of penalties don't help keep our D fresh.

Tech didn’t give him up… Fuente wouldn’t name him the starter, so he transferred to a school that had a coach that would appreciate him. Look at where it got him, and look where it got Fuente. Fuente screwed Virginia Tech badly. Brent Pry has ALOT of work ahead of him.

Let's be honest Mike Vick helped VT have a spur of the moment run between 98-2000 and VT was living off that hype train for some years after even with Frank Beamer and Bud Foster on the defense and special teams. After Vick left they have always had struggle offenses which always held them back despite some of their defenses being good.

OH how the times have changed for VTECH.. Someone please tell me how wells earned that "C" on his jersey. That kid wouldnt make 3rd string on any other ACC roster. should have had a lot more screens and misdirection plays, short quick plays designed to get the RBs the ball instead of long slow developing plays with zero weapons that couldnt even create separation from the referee in the middle of the field.
Hard to believe Michael Vick almost won them a National Championship, at one time. Losing to the Monarchs? UGLY!!!

Tough loss? I never even knew Old Dominion had a football program. The Monarchs are no Georgia Bulldogs, or even Rutgers. Hard to believe this school lost to Florida State in the National Championship game, way back when they were a good team. Terrible effort, lazy players, and bonehead plays.

The amount of hate that is already on Wells should be put to rest. I would say that 1 1/2 of the interceptions he threw was his fault. His first pick was intended for a corner route that could have been called back for a PI call. The second interception was fully his fault. He threw an out route inside of a receiver to a corner playing press coverage. The next interception bounced off of the receivers chest. The last interception was a desperation throw with 10 seconds left. When Wells had a well formed pocket he made some incredible throws that I haven’t seen from a VT Qb for a while. This next week of practice should be working on attacking Wells’ weaknesses. Showing different stunt packages to show Wells in game scenarios, so he has to make quick, smart decisions. Give him time to grow in the system so next year he will be an excellent gunslinging quarterback.
