I just got a Pixel 6 a few days ago and so far it's been great - no issues with hardware or software. The screen is huge, which is exactly what I wanted. I held both the 6 and 6 Pro in my hand there was very little difference with regards to size. The 6 actually felt better because on the 6 Pro, you can feel the point where the screen and the back glass meet. This doesn't happen with the 6 since the screen is flat. Even if I bought the Pro, I would still run it at 60hz and HD to save on battery, so the choice was easy for me. I love the clean OS without any bloatware (looking at you, Samsung!). And monthly security updates for 5 years just like iPhone!!! Goodbye Samsung and OnePlus!
i love my pixel 6 and i am glad that i didn't get the pro model since its really hard to get a decent screen protector for it and the screen breaks so easy.
🤖 Yeah, I started out with the Pixel 6 Pro at launch but ended up switching over to the standard 6 about a month later. It's those small things like the flat screen and the matte rails and the slightly smaller form factor that made the difference for me. Besides, I never used the telephoto on the 6 Pro and the standard 6 comes in way more exciting colors. Overall a win for me. I mean, I don't need 12GB of RAM on my smartphone. That's overkill for my use. Great video as always. Appreciate your perspective in the tech space!
Mous hybrid glass screen protectors are 100% worth grabbing for P6 and P6 pro, they're slightly thinner, more impact protective and worth straight away with the fingerprint sensor without increasing sensitivity. You also get 2 in a pack. Give it a try!
I got the pixel 6 about 7 days ago and my tip for the finger scanner is scan the finger more than once it recognises it a quicker and more often. Sorry I meant to say the same finger ie index or thumb probably two or three times.
Pixel 6 can do 4k 30fps on the ultra wide and I'm fairly sure that the 50mp camera is software locked to 12.5mp so even a different app can't use the full 50mp. Other than that, solid video.
🤖 great video as always. Picked up the 6 a few months ago. Love it but was debating on switching back to the 5 based on size, but am concerned of losing the camera upgrade and slower processed of the 5 over the 6. Keep up the great reviews!

this sounds almost exactly like my life, I also dropped my 4a and the screen is completely destroyed, looking to buy a pixel 6 and using pixel 2 in the meantime, haha :D
It's a unique phone. I like it but only when I'm at home where WiFi connectivity is good for me. When I'm out and about the battery drain shoots up, the connectivity is dodgy and the phone heats up (no gaming). I also find the GPS acts up at times in open places which haven't given my previous phones any problems. Bluetooth is consistent only when you disable the higher quality codecs (i.e. LDAC and AptXHD). After finding myself carrying around my old phone when going out of town I've decided to switch to a Samsung; having tried my friends' phones. So buyer beware
That's funny you bring this up. I've had the 6 pro for a few months. For some reason, the last few weeks my 6 pro began have call stability issues. Crappy connectivity, etc. I became so frustrated that I just received a galaxy s22 ultra. 4 days and so far zero issues.
I feel like the two pixels has a couple of compromises. If they used the 6 body, added the tele and front cameras from the pro, added Face ID, and improved the video quality, it’d be perfect - Priced in the middle of the two.
Regarding the over sharpening / pixel binning, wouldn't shooting in raw or raw+jpg allow you to overcome those limitations in situations where you want the better quality? ( the trade off being the inconvenience factor)
Damn. Are you the hardest working person on the Internet? With all you do for 9 to 5 Google and I stumble across your own channel on top of that, I just don’t know how you do it! Great work!!!
looking to upgrade and i've found offers for the pixel 6 pro for maybe only £3 a month more than the pixel 6, is this a case of it not being worth the extra money or genuinely you'd choose the regular version even if they cost the same?
In your case the price difference is £72 over two years on contract, correct? In that case it's more viable to go for the Pro if you desperately want a telephoto zoom lens and higher resolution screen. I do personally prefer the regular 6 over the Pro but I do own both.
Had the pixel 6 less than a week and im sending it back. the updates take forever to download, the fingerprint unlock barely works and it over heats...i may have a faulty phone, but im going back to samsung
I just got a pixel 6 and i noticed that when recording songs n adding vocals, the voice is distorted during playback. This is not happening on my old pixel 4a5g. I've done factory resets, i even reset my pixel buds too, the problem persist. Please help 🙏🙏🙏
🤖 Hey Damian! Great follow up on the Pixel 6! Mine is ok. I go back & forth on whether it's a good phone. I'm still experiencing dropped signals a few times a day. I ♥️ it's cameras! It's screen could be a bit brighter. Overall, it's ok. I'll be looking to upgrade to the Pixel 7. I do want a more consistent device than the Pixel 6.
@@dogastus In fairness to my Pixel 6. It drops service at a particular spot on the road during my commute. It's not random & it didn't lose connection at all when I was traveling in Chicago last weekend. The drops in service are regularly occurring but not super problematic.
I agree with you re the screen brightness. For this grade of phone one would expect more brightness nits and a better screen. It's like having a relatively decent phone with a budget screen stuck on it . My friends lower end Samsung phone has a more appealing screen
I knew this the first week. But still went back to the 4a. Do not like this big ass heavy phone on my hands especially when I'm laying in bed without it falling on my face. Besides the many stupid issues it has, they need to release a 4a and 5a size down the line.
Google really just needs to launch these both as PRO's, with exactly the same specs and hardware, except for the screen size difference (ala iPhone). Then save the mid-tier for the "a" models.

Nobody seems to talk about duel sim, had the pixel 5 with duel sim (one an eSim) and i would get all day battery life. Got the P6 Pro and I'm at 20% by 5pm, flat by 6pm, its atrocious, don't understand how it can be this bad, even the battery usages states 60% usage for mobile networks with 2 hours use!! Not sure if this is a android 12 thing or not, mix this with the terrible charging speeds and ill be giving another android device a go now.
Hey Geoff. That sounds annoying but addressing the reason why I didn't mention Dual SIM battery drain: I can't really talk about something I haven't experienced or used. Hence why I didn't mention and, sadly, I can't offer any advice or troubleshooting tips.
The problem may be related to 5g, if you have it enabled. Pixel has a pretty bad antenna, as far as most people report, also the 5g modem inside the phone consumes a lot of power. You may try disabling it, if it's enabled, and see how it goes.
@@DamienWilde thanks for the reply, it's no criticism towards yourself though. It just seems like it's not a well publicised issue. Maybe because duel Sim is not widely used? Anyway it's just a shame that it functioned so well on the pixel 5!
I have a pixel 6, it's ok, albeit a bit of a disappointment in certain areas. Strengths - excellent main camera , nice clean android experience, looks nice. Weaknesses- sub par screen, poor brightness level nits, glitchy as f***! Other more minor niggles - too big , uncomfortable in the hand ( I've big hands) it feels top heavy , doesn't feel that well made ! I'm not sure if I will purchase another pixel. I'm currently looking at other brands
I got my pixel 6 yesterday, it's going back tomorrow. That finger print sensor absolutely sucks and it should be flawless given there's no face unlock. Such a shame.
@@PhillyG100 Great question. I ended up returning the Pixel 6 and got the Oneplus 10 Pro instead. 🤖 Had the Pixel 6 since launch as well, the majority of the bugs are fixed, the fingerprint sensor is still a little unreliable tho. I think the physical hardware of the fingerprint sensor makes it that way. Definitely agree with you that the phone isn't massive by any stretch, but with a case on it still feels quite large. Without the case tho, it's still a good size.
Nope. I got one in the post yesterday. I was so excited after seeing so many positive reviews online recently... But... After spending a few hours with it, it's going straight back to Santa. Reason: The white colour balance for the phone's display is just shockingly awful. It's a dirty, yellow/green hue, across all apps, media, and menus/OS. All of my recent photos of lovely brilliant winter scenes look gross on the Pixel 6. So, unless the North Pole really is covered with yellow snow, I hope Santa's elves will honour their return policy.
