It’s amazing to see this video where Scott looks like a thicker version of himself. He looks healthy and a little bit more like Fred Durst than he does Scott. Such immense talent in this band. This is still one of my top 10 favorite songs ever. That guitar riff is just too juicy. I mean you could sing this song in your head all day long and not get sick of it.

I remember sour girl, hearing he was fresh out of rehab, and thinking ‘you sure about that?’ He was extremely fit before the drugs took over. He didn’t look nearly as bad in sour girl as he would in the years to come but it was obvious he was not where he was before, physically or mentally. Beautiful song, but it was the beginning of the end for him.

This is the first video I ever saw and it launched them. Decades go by and I watch the progression of Scott. Now I revisit this old video and he looks like someone else. Healthy, physical, normal. Heartbreaking to see this retro healthy Scott after years and years of emaciated Scott. The guy was a diamond.

Sadly, this is the song that got Scott tagged as a "Eddie Vedder knock-off" so Scott deliberately avoided this vocal style on subsequent albums. In my opinion, there's some irony in how much better STP music has held up over the decades than Pearl Jam's.

E-minor speaks of serious spiritual issues and grander social concerns, not just tit's-an-ass like ZZ Top or Van Halen. Ironically, Scott Wieland becomes the hot one. Just before he wife-beats you."

The gig started with "Press Play" as the intro (descending disco ball) and they played "Crackerman" to start with. The crowd went NUTS when the footage of stock cars racing side by side came up and the bumper camera zooms in on the other car's STP decal.

One of my best friends died today. Strangely enough, this song helped me bond with him:
We used to have a TV in the back of the restaurant where we worked. One day, the internet went out. He looked really mad.
_"I'm gettin' pissed- there's no music."_
I sang the first part of this song after I stood next to him.
_"I like that song, keep going!"_
So, I did. This song would play about once a day after that.
I only really knew him for a few years, but he was still one of my best friends.

@@henm4975 it was Gran Turismo 2. When I got the 1998 Mustang SVT Cobra pearl white, naturally aspirated, fast as heck.

Such a rocking song for such dark subject matter. That's the essence of grunge I suppose.

I myself saw them, one of the best concerts at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, great show and they had massive floor to ceiling lava lamps and even though I was trippin during the show, it was like you were listening to them in the studio they were outstanding and Scott was yummy hot then before drugs took his looks and soul

    I am, I am, I am
I said I wanna get next to you
I said I'm gonna get close to you
You wouldn't want me have to hurt you too, hurt you too?
    I ain't, I ain't, I ain't
    A buyin' into your apathy
I'm gonna learn ya my philosophy
You wanna know about atrocity, atrocity?
I know you want what's on my mind
I know you like what's on my mind
I know it eats you up inside
I know you know, you know, you know
    I am a man, a man
I'll give you somethin' that you won't forget
I said you shouldn't have a worn that dress
I said you shouldn't have a worn that dress, worn that dress
I know you want what's on my mind
I know you like what's on my mind
I know it eats you up inside
I know you know, you know, you know
    Here I come, I come, I come, I come
    Here I come, I come, I come
    I am, I am, I am
I said I wanna get next to you
I said I'm gonna get close to you

I worked on this video. I haven’t seen it in a long time, so this is a trip down memory lane. The 90s were such a great time to be doing music videos in Seattle! These guys really were incredibly talented.
