Same thing applies to air conditioning too. My boss was telling us of an issue with a mini split that was not cooling good. Some one had charged the system up thinking it was low charge but he found the evaporator coil (it was a cassette system) was dirty. Always check your evaporator fans and coil for proper air flow. Great catch.

Nice catch. After 30 plus years of working in this field I find myself being less critical of technicians that worked on equipment before me. As us old guys start retiring and there is no one to replace us, that means not enough techs and just as much work, and unfortunately that leads to overworked techs that are busting ass to get all the jobs done on their schedule for the day. That leads to misdiagnosed equipment, unfortunately. The customer definitely deserve better than that. Something has to be done to get the young guys and gals into the field because as it stands, we are a dieing breed.

Great point on new techs. Once the kids figure out there’s no free lunch 🥪 they will have to go to work. I also believe if you can have a shop that only dose VRV systems and your good at it. You can charge whatever you want. Mega bucks 💰sitting there.

it's no surprise, because they want to sell new equipment and very often. no repairs for you or I. same for automotive/truck/bikes, they want you to buy a new one/trade in often and the cost is far too high! it's all headed for a great implosion still, whilst they twiddle their thumbs and suck more money from everything.
