      @@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH It's used in small residential appliances in European countries. Many US states are requiring new appliance sales not have high-GWP refrigerants starting January 1st, 2021. We are seeing a big push from manufacturers for LOKRING connections as well. They don't think we can safely braze around flammable refrigerants I guess.

    Thanks for a Very Informative vidclip .... I am in NZ, Retired and I do some 'Fridgie' work for myself, to keep me busy .... I have just had virtually the Exact same Compressor, same make, and it also failed with the Very Same Symptoms .... The 'Standing Pressure' was fine .... When I removed the compressor, I tried to tip out the 'Oil', there was not even a Teaspoon of Oil in it, super Brown and Stank.... So the Compressor had intemittent 'Seizing' and the Amps had Exactly the same 'Draw Chacteristic' as in your Great vidclip .... Very Best to ALL, Thanks Again, cheers from Christhurch, New Zealand.

      @@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECHI'm in Ontario Canada,my true vertical fridge soda cooler isn't cooling. Our technician added gas and charged it but said it still doesn't work. Told me to keep it running and if that doesn't work he said to just buy new one or get a free one from Coke and Pepsi. It's a 10 year plus unit. Compressor was working very hard and some.of out water will freeze as well. Especially the water bottles at the back. Any idea where to take action on this?

  • @hvac01453
    @hvac01453 3 года назад +1

    That’s funny, I do the same thing, replace those start components. They are usually bad. I was noting you didn’t invert the propane cylinder??? You charge vapor? I have the same scale as you. With that small a charge! I get skeptical on its accuracy with charges that small. If I zero the scale out with let’s say 2 pounds on it....if I come back 10 minutes later it’s changed by .7 ounces because I think it’s just a heated diode or spring that changes. To help stop this I acclimate my scale where I’m using it by removing it from the case and try do this at least 30 minutes before I need it.

    • @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
      @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH  3 года назад +1

      Yes, I don’t really trust that scale for the small charges unfortunately. Some of the other commentators on some of my videos told me about this new scale where the bottle screws into it and you charge it from there. The price was like under $150 I think so I’m going to most likely order one of those.

    • @hvac01453
      @hvac01453 3 года назад +1

      @@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH before you do... the max charge for maximum propane charge is just over 5 oz, the bottle can’t be more than 3 pounds so look for a cheap throw away scale that Max’s out at about 5 to 8 pounds. Then you’ll get better accuracy. If you have a new bottle of it, just weigh a full one then double the pounds. This should give you a good midrange on the scale. Less than 40 dollars I suspect. Use a cardboard container to support it upside down, then zero the scale.

    • @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
      @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH  3 года назад

      Yes we have those cardboard holders as well. We are going to start using the 1/4” hoses that just came out in our area as well. I’m curious to see how this new scale goes, the reviews from other techs has been really good.

      Your evaporator coil needs to be colder than your box temp, or else we will never get to temp. In the case of reach ins, we want the refrigerant going through the evaporator coil to be 20F colder than our desisted box temp.

    • @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
      @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH  3 года назад +1

      Every manufacturer could be different, but generally a cap tube will have an evaporator TD of 20F. Condensers on these reach ins are usually a 30F condenser split, but I’ve seen it as low as 15F condenser split on some lesser known manufacturers. Unfortunately, this info is not on the nameplate.

    • @JDT738126
      @JDT738126 3 года назад

      @@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH hey thanks for the reply! One more question, does the length of the cap tube matter? I understand the idea is to restrict flow so I am guessing you should have a certain length on the tube.

    • @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
      @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH  3 года назад +1

      Yes length will matter. Too short and there will too much flow, too long and there won’t be enough flow. Now there have been instances where the cap tube is restricted and I’ll cut an inch or so off both ends, blow out with nitrogen and braze it back together.
