Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos while your working. I am a rookie in the industry and have learned quite a bit here on your channel. I particularly have a greater understanding when you incorporate design temp difference into your charts and graphs. Cheers man, you are one of the good guys!
This is an excellent vid, just a foot note when removing/disassembing the expansion valve power head always release the superheat spring tension so the carrier pins don't score into the power head while your replacing it
I like to watch your videos. But for a last you start show only refrigeration . Would be nice to get more videos about hot side of commercial food equipment. 😊
Was that nylog u used for sealant ? And when loosening nut on txv I would move the heavy duty wrench up higher n ur wrench on nut lower n ur create a scissors motion to have them meet together. Looked like in video u wer turning wrench on nut but at same level of bigger wrench which can cause it to twist at liquid/suction line.
That’s the only angle I could get the big wrench on unfortunately. I used oil instead of nylog. Nylog is always my good to except on those TXV threads.
Do you have to drain the system down when you take the power head off? And if you take the power head off and you hear refrigerant does that mean something is stuck open?
The tool that you test the solenoid can you name it and where you bought it plz. I’m a refrigeration tech. As well. Thank u. I enjoy your videos and a subscriber. 👍🏻
It’s called a rotation detector for circulation pump. I’m sure it has other names though, but on Amazon you can search with that name. Thanks for watching
I assume would be able to rebuild most valves, the issue is whether or not you can get the parts to rebuilt it. My area doesn’t have much for Danfoss valves.
wondering if a variable speed fan ECM maybe would work instead of a head master ? or would that not work in insane Arctic conditions like you experience. 😂
You can use it for rotation, I use it on solenoids so I don’t have to pull out the wires and test them with my meter. Works for all solenoids, great tool.
@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Tip for you, when replacing them, use stay brite 8 with stay clean and mapp gas, can be done in seconds and better than brazing. You can use it anywhere in the system except at the compressor.

Still begs the question. So I looked it up and they sound stupid. A hot work permit is a safety document that is required for any work that involves the use of open flames, sparks, or heat that could potentially cause a fire or explosion. Hot work includes activities such as welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, grinding, and drilling.

Score the new powerhead?
It’s comments like this that make RUclips a great learning tool.
This is so instructive God bless you for your teaching. Thank you very much I’m learning allot from your videos , thank you.
👍
This is the best teaching videos ever made , I’ve learned so much, thank you and God bless.
Very professional technician
Love your videos, keep up with more hot side stuff I'm trying to learn that. Thanks
Will keep that in mind for the next few videos
Find Hobart in your area, they will hire you and send you to their school for hot side work. And it's very good training.
Thanks for the videos!!! Very informative and thorough...
Thank you
Love the content man nice to see you do hotside work as well. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks, yup lots of hot side

One more question. The explanation from 12:35, where can i read about it? Do you know any books or where can i find it? Thank you
Great work
Thanks
If you had to unsweat a txv (inlet and outlet at 90 degrees to each other. Is there a preference as to which to unsweat 1st, 2nd , and last.
Nices job🎉
What size bit did you use with the impact drill to take off the back.
7/8
❄🇺🇸💪👍 great informative video.

@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH u the man great vids keep them coming thank you
This was a unique video. Thank you. Do you carry the sporlan rebuild kit or did you happen to have the same exact valve?
I don’t chage enough TXV’s to justify having the rebuild kit. Supplier was 15 minutes away so I just picked one up from there.
Why the 90f head pressure temp, where that number comes.from?
Do you have to use a large wrench
Nice job 👍
Thanks
Thanks for the vid. It looked like some black debris in the TXV when you opened or was that on the outside?
Thanks! Everything clean inside the body of the valve.
Do you have to drain the system down when you take the power head off? And if you take the power head off and you hear refrigerant does that mean something is stuck open?
About the strainer maybe dirty on that TXV
Absolutely
👍👍👍

what is a hot work permit?
Hey man if you don't mind me asking.
Can you do this on the typical txv or was this a q body.
Unfortunately not, even with the Condensor fan off we can’t get the head pressure high enough on really cold days.
Did u have to do a pump down? To rebuild that txv?
In this case I did as this system had a lot of refrigerant.
Do you charge to look for the leak?
Every minute of the service call is billable
Is that a magnet tester or rotation tester?
You can use it for rotation, I use it on solenoids so I don’t have to pull out the wires and test them with my meter. Works for all solenoids, great tool.
You should have just replaced the TXV, rebuild is for emergency purposes only if your out in BFE and you have an 800 rebuild kit on you.
Couldn’t get a hot work permit, had no choice. Like I was saying in the video, I always replace them as opposed to rebuilding.
@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Tip for you, when replacing them, use stay brite 8 with stay clean and mapp gas, can be done in seconds and better than brazing. You can use it anywhere in the system except at the compressor.
I will look into that, thanks for the tip
Did you go to school for this or learned in the field.
Went to school and learnt the most in the field, learning new things/techniques everyday.
hello. What kind of the equipment ( tester ) do you use on 35 second? Thank you

A hot work permit? What?
🤷♂️ must be a government job site
What the the hell is a hot work permit? Ni inspector is gonna know
Lol, mandatory around here in Toronto

What if it's a water cooled condenser? What should your saturation be?
