Watching Gary sing "Summer Wind" while in full Dracula makeup has to be one of the most disturbing/hilarious things I've ever seen. I really wished between filming Oldman would have gone out to a restaurant in full make up but with his regular voice and acted like nothing was out of the ordinary.
I thought that when Van Helsing danced with Mina he was imitating her dance with Dracula and telling her he knew all about her relationship with Dracula. Turns out it was just an actor's sudden impulse.
The early rehearsal here is for a scene scripted/storyboarded that never made it into the final cut but included in the Mike Mignola comic adaptation and Fred Saberhagen novelization. In an alternate take of the newlywed Harkers' London return, Jonathan goes after Dracula - Mina left alone in a cab - who is lured into a dark alleyway where he is overpowered by the vampire's bat form, unconscious. In human form, Dracula begs a frightened Mina to join him: "Can you conceive of my loneliness?".
It's nice hearing Winona commending Gary on his emotions like they're a useful tool for his effective performance when that's probably what drove a wedge between them on set.
I would've loved to have been an actor working with such greats as Hopkins, Reeves, Ryder and especially Oldman! What a surreal experience it would be! Lucky it be those actors!! They should've included this documentary on one of the DVD's - the original first movie or the second Collector's Edition which I'm about to get. Maybe it's on that DVD? Hope so! Oldman is so sensitive. You can feel him when he speaks. He's a LEGEND now and ALWAYS! So glad to have lived in his time! Wonderful movie ~

Hope a real Director will do one beyond outstanding one day soon with more great actors like Oldman.
@A 23 M. You're completely wrong. She didn't get along with him during filming, but she doesn't hate him at all. She later blamed their filming difficulties on him staying in character. They were friendly again by the time the movie premiered, and they've been friendly over the years at other public functions. There are online photos to prove this. She was seen kissing him at the 2018 SAG awards when he won. The website cheat sheet has an article about it with some of the friendly photos I'm talking about.
