Exactly if he had of said twilight they would have all probably wet themselves. Bet half of em never heard of Bram stoker nor Francis Ford Coppola. Sad times
What really boils my blood is that no one showed any respect for the film. We're talking about an audience who basically goes "Woooh" and claps for almost everything. But once Conan mentions Bram Stoker's Dracula...complete silence. BS
I remember reading something where it said Gary had to relearn his British accent from starring in too many films which required and American one? Is this true?
I'm a huge Gary Oldman fan, seen most of his movies, loved him in all of them. This is the first time I've actually heard him speak in his own voice and I had zero clue he was English.
My favorite actor. Total chameleon. He's the kind of actor where I watch a movie and only afterwards, when I look at the credits, do I realize "That was Gary!?"
The Verbally Abusive Clown No because Gary doesn't give a damn in general which means not tring to please people all the time..Lewis seems more insicure and guarded not taking many risks as an actor.
And interestingly it's one of his few roles where he's not changing much for the character. Oldman basically acts like himself if he were a cop, and it fits commissioner Gordon's character like a glove.
If you haven't seen him in "The Professional" go and rent it! It was Natalie Portman's first movie (she was 12) and a fantastic dark crime drama. Oldman played a fantastic villain. You won't forget it.
Dracula is one of his best movies !!! ❤ He is one of the actors who is SO invested and into his roles ! I can't understand why no one applauded him when Conan mentioned Dracula !
It would've been agreat idea if Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins had taught Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder how to speak in a proper english accent while they were preparing for the film. God knows whoever tried to teach them (if there even was someone teaching them) failed miserably. On Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Anthony Head taught James Marsters an english accent and that worked out famously.
@@DeepScreenAnalysis Winona did an admirable job. Keanu just couldn't get it and it was like watching Bill and Ted Go to Transylvania whenever he spoke. Even he has admitted he wasn't that good in the movie. If only they had gotten the original choice of Johnny Depp playing the part of Harker it would have been better.
I once saw an episode of "Law & Order" and one of the detectives mentioned you can buy them online. Now that may have just been a line from a TV show but I wouldn't be surprised if that can really be done.
I just saw the Netflix mini series "Dracula". Although it was quite alright, it pales in comparison to Gary Oldmans performance in the 1992 movie. It is without a doubt the best portrayal of Dracula (or any vampire movies for that matter). A must see movie for everyone.
My favorite Gary Oldman character is either Sirius Black in Harry Potter or Richard Crosby, the character he played on an episode of Friends who was acting with Joey in a World War 1 movie.
I’m a young 18 year old vampire movie fanatic, I have appreciation for classics like Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Frank Langella’s Dracula and other vampire movies that are similar. Also, I’m very into what goes on in every vampire movie like bloodsucking, love scenes, the vampire that kills the hunter, all of that which is hella bomb. My dad growing up in the 80s would watch horror movies and a lot of actions and westerns which included Clint Eastwood who’s my late grandfather’s favorite actor.
I like how people are saying 'why didn't anyone clap' Yet anyone english watching this is perfectly used to not clapping like a seal at the mention of anything ha
....plus, a 300 year old guy who drinks blood to stay young..... hmmm, that's a little too close to the bone for American fans of Hollywood 'entertainment' ...."Yeah, right, em..... are we allowed laugh at that???"
Like Johnny Depp,Gary gets screwed over by the Oscars..Time and again,no matter how brilliant the movie is..Sid and Nancy...Dracula....The Professional..The Batman movies..Book Of Eli..Even as Drexel in "True Romance"..Sure he was only in the scene for 6 or 7 minutes, but you will never forget that scene and how he impacted it..He doesn't kiss Hollywood Ass...That is why they ignore him..
Happy B-day Gary Oldman. I Love The Dark Knight Rises. It really kick ass. May the Peace be with u. From Harlingen Texas. March 21, 1958 March 21, 2020 through March 21, 3020
IIRC, Richard E. Grant's memoir says that Uma left Gary right before they filmed Bram Stoker's Dracula. They had divorced by the time the film was released.
It saddens me that no one cheered or clapped when Conan mentioned Dracula..
LunchableSandwich definitely agree!
His audience is usually suck, so no surprise there pal...
@@andrewhawkings5198 "his audience is actually suck"

@@vannhelsin2434 Sadly true. It's a great film and honestly the last good thing Coppola ever made.
i will "woooo" at the top of my lungs if i was there for sure. bram stoker's dracula is one of the best love story ever
Garbage films overflowing everywhere kind of shadows this masterpiece film.
I can't believe he has never won an Oscar.... that's complete bullshit! He is an outstanding actor. One of the greatest of all time.
Leonardo Di'caprio
**UPDATE**
I take it back, I guess Leo has an oscar now...
Absolutely.... Leo, too
The Oscars are a joke.
On Watchmojo's Top Ten Actors Without an Oscar, Gary Oldman was #2.
+IanzGurrl He hates the Oscars so in the end it kinda works out. He probably wouldn't accept anyway.
Dracula Sex Coffin will be the name of my new retro Gothrock band.
Lmao
Gary is so attractive.
Yesssss
He's a class act.
Yessss he is...
For real. One of my cinematic crushes.
Seriously
Just finished Dracula and I must say: Gary is the greatest of all time.
but I believe he would not have become the actor he is without Coppola's direction
his accent is absolutely magnificent.
***** OMG OMG HEY DAVOS!
Transatlantic accent.
I remember reading something where it said Gary had to relearn his British accent from starring in too many films which required and American one? Is this true?
Ikr? It's like nobody else has that particular accent. It's just so...Gary! Lol
started out english, became american is now australian
I'm a huge Gary Oldman fan, seen most of his movies, loved him in all of them. This is the first time I've actually heard him speak in his own voice and I had zero clue he was English.
Since all cast members of the harry potter franchise had to be british actors, i knew it.
My favorite actor. Total chameleon. He's the kind of actor where I watch a movie and only afterwards, when I look at the credits, do I realize "That was Gary!?"
Gary Oldman is the greatest actor currently living today. Rejoice...for you are living during his time period!
He is unbelievably talented but there is only one Daniel Day Lewis.
Mert Sirin Oh brother...
The Verbally Abusive Clown No because Gary doesn't give a damn in general which means not tring to please people all the time..Lewis seems more insicure and guarded not taking many risks as an actor.
This sir right here played comissioner Gordon to perfection
Can't agree with you more than ever.
yes 👌👌

I love Gary Oldman! I've had a crush on him since I was 14 😊
i had a crush on you since right now.
Me too
This is one of the most hilarious interviews I've seen in my entire life.
Ohhh Dracula !!! Gary Oldman that coffin would've worked on me ;) lol

I have multiple coffins
Looks like saf299 has his "in" lol
im director finance at a morgue (wink wink)
Joza Ibrahim: great reply!
He is sublime in Dracula
Older, sober Gary seems like a tickle me Elmo compared to his drinking days. Amazing for anyone who can overcome addiction.
If you haven't seen him in "The Professional" go and rent it! It was Natalie Portman's first movie (she was 12) and a fantastic dark crime drama. Oldman played a fantastic villain. You won't forget it.
Blahahaha love ya bro
just saw Dracula early today. one of the best actors of our generation,Gary.
Dary Oldman has one of the coolest laughs I've heard
Gary is so classy and adorable at the same time.
He still is the best Dracula.
absolutely agree. The best Dracula is Coppola's Dracula.
Dracula is one of his best movies !!! ❤
He is one of the actors who is SO invested and into his roles !
I can't understand why no one applauded him when Conan mentioned Dracula !
British humor > American humor
Brits > 'Muricans
I still love him from Fifth Element! lol
I totally would have been impressed with the coffin. 😂
my gf says thats the only time she though gary oldman was sexy she loves him as an actor but apparently she only finds him atttractive as the count
Interesting
Sirius and the count same here 😅
25 (possibly women but not necessarily) agrred with you.
He was gorgeous in "The Scarlet Letter"! That is when I fell for him! 😍
He's also attractive as Sirius Black. such a beautiful man.

Yeah Keanu said he was completely burnt out before filming even began as he did films solidly back to back at that time.
wow! wtf? no one clapped? that's the greatest acting in cinema history
Gary Oldman has the best laugh :)
Anyone know where I can buy a coffin?
Nevermind, I'll just go get a used one...
Arson Bjork 😨😰😱

Used in what way?
Actually, forget I asked.
He is my favorite Dracula.
Gary Oldman looks so small in that chair!!!
Check him out as Beethoven in Immortal Beloved. This man's acting range is limitless.
Oh my Gosh ...he is a great Actor! I adore him so much! He deserves for sure an Oscar or more!
It's weird that no one laughs at 1:38, well the public seems to be very quiet during the whole thing tho😂

great... impressing girls with a coffin is a bad idea... time for plan B
correction: sex coffin.
Anything with a coffin is a bad idea! lol Only vampire should use it...

My gosh I love how cooky he is compared to the roles he usually plays 😂
It's a shame that people don't know about Stoker's Dracula or about this film.
Best actor EVER with my Conan! Ahhhhhhh
Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a master piece and great actors and Francis Coppola is a genius
Gary/Dracula....so charming!!!💓💓💓
I thought this man was really dracula growing up. Good movie.
I would have screamed so hard in that studio when he mentioned Dracula, omg

Tinker Taylor, The Professional and Leon. 3 films he should've won at least one Oscar for.

Chameleon actor. Nobody is better than Oldman.
If he would’ve had sex in that coffin, I would’ve waited till he was done just so I could greet him with, “Evening . .. Commissioner . . . “ 🃏
He really is up there with Jimmy Stewart....Rex Harrison....Morgan Freeman....actors in a class by themselves. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.
as iconic as bella is...Oldman's dracula is the best live action incarnation of the character we've had so far.

He's so charming and adorable ❤
I've only just found out he played Sirius Black... holy shit! I never knew that!! :O
His outfit is killin' it.
Dracula is a film of 1992. He talks about women and sex... but, in 1992, Gary was married with Uma Thurman. ¬w¬
+I'm Infinite He's been married for times...and that was the year that him and Uma got a divorce.
IIRC, Richard E. Grant's memoir says that Uma left Gary right before they filmed Bram Stoker's Dracula. They had divorced by the time the film was released.
I'm Infinite really
At the premiere of Final Analysis in February 1992, Uma Thurman and Gary Oldman were still together.
Gary is so cool tho :'D
His outfit is really cool.
My favorite Dracula.
Dracula Sex Coffin, new band name I call it!
What the fuck Gary? Who dressed you like that? Ah well, I STILL LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
